I was just ready to write something disparaging about Mitchell, and then he at 3:52 approximates Frank's "stuff". Ok, I give the guy credit. Huge shoes to fill. Saw these guys in '89(?) during their Eat Me in St. Louis, opening for Jethro Tull. They were phenomenal.
Saw them in Cardiff about a year ago - absolutely fantastic, they never played this though. :( FD left the band a very very long time ago and his music is totally different. Personally I prefer the current line up.
Wow - cheers for posting - the band rocks now and before - I was totally gobsmacked with the 'Tall Ships' album totally one of the best albums I have heard in a long time
I hope everyone doesn't hate me for saying this, because I am impressed with the way the fans have got behind this band now. But to me Mitchell is... yes really good... but not quite *mad* enough.
I think that is probably what his bandmates like about him so much. :)
This is good, don't get me wrong... but there was an extra level of poetry with Frank. The thing is I think Mitchell has it in him. But I haven't quite yet seen it come out...
