A year ago I listened to this and thought, "This is new and exciting." 2011, almost 2012, and here I've found my way back still thinking the same thing. That's incredible.
You're speeding up a bit in the middle ;). I love the sound of your clairseach and the piece even more - is it traditional, or were you inspired by the LotR:TT soundtrack?
wow sounds beautiful, how long has she been playing? i want to learn, i sing i have recently found some old ballads and the harp would be the perfect accompaniment i am not attempting them in gaidhlig as i am just learning
Thank you! I just like to play :-) Normally when I write a wee tune, I play with what ever finger position is comfortable rather than working within a historical framework. However I do believe that historically speaking people did also take this approach to playing musical instruments :-D
I have just started taking lessons with Cynthia Cathcart to help me with my studies...J
yes i realise . i neary bought a harp from your dad a few years ago. i live in glastonbury he will remeber me. i changed my mind and was given an old gut string harp and it took me ages to get strings and it needs all new pegs! i wish i HAD bought from your dad.
This Performance has inspired me to resolutely begin to study the harp- Before, I had been largely put off by the cost of such a beautiful instrument. I had heard many different performances of many different pieces, and almost decided to give up my aspirations to become at least an amateur Harper... However, for some reason, this one video has inspired me not to give up, not to cast aside my dreams. And for that, I bid the both of you thanks. Go raibh maith agat. =)
Oh meine Güte, die Sie gerade sind erstaunlich, müssen Sie Ihr Talent zu teilen!

I am intreagued by your playing style... it seems very rooted around set finger positions... do you have any historical basis for this?

Thank you for your kind words! My father built my harp for me William Macdonald Skye.

Excellent! I didn't realize he was your father! Looks like a Trinity College harp.
