Marley Marl produced this remix beat.....classic.....this era of hip-hop cannot be matched. NYC will forever me the root of Hip-Hop! LL Should have put this version
To me this was LL in his prime. He was underappreciated at the time 'cause everyone started listening to West Coast Hip-Hop at the time. LL is a living legend though and never played himself.
@Sensaye25 I agree with you 100%, but west coast lyrics was a lot of profanity, labeled hardcore, but not nessarily creative......A lot of your eastcoast MC's could be creative without overdoing it with the profanity.
Yeah this is better than Kane's song, I can't even believe I'm saying it. I never heard of this song til it came on XM. I never really liked LL too much but now I really do because his lesser known tracks are fucking awesome. This and Big Ole Butt is what I like.
I think that's insane. Not even LL would agree. He was completely unhappy with this album and this was his least favorite song. He was having a lot of beef with Def Jam at the time.
so true...listening to this...parents had to come in the room and check on me, to unravel the headphones from my neck from listening to this so much!!!..HIP HOP
HIPHOP AT IT'z BEST!!! DA WHOLE ALBUM WAZ HOTT!!! DA RAP GAME NOW IZ ALL ABOUT SOMEONE OR SOMEBODY's CAR,CHAIN,WOMEN,KILLS OR MONEY...REAL HIPHOP BUILDS UR MIND NOT ONLY UR POCKETZ!!!!!
No comparison. "Pink Cookies..." is lyrically superior to "A Bay Bay". Lyrical skill was the foundation of Old Skool Hip-Hop. Except for a handful of artists, you can't say that about today's "Hip Hop".
@rb0880 not true at all.. there are way more than just a handful or artists with lyrical skill... expand your knowledge - real hip hop isn't dead it just lives underground

Big Ole Butt is funny because he says he sleeps with a 17 year old girl in the 2nd verse.

No comparison. "Pink Cookies..." is lyrically superior to "A Bay Bay". Lyrical skill was the foundation of Old Skool Hip-Hop. Except for a handful of artists, you can't say that about today's "Hip Hop".

Agreed. Sorry but no one today can come close to this. This is not mass produced, mindless, repetitive bullshit.
