  • I've owned 2 TG-16's. Sadly let my friend borrow my last one maybe 12 years ago and forgot about it. =/ Still bonks kicked ass and afew other ones that I played. TG-16 was a great little system for the time. And you couldn't argue with the turbo controllers it came with.

  • me lo ricordo ancora benissimo, sto gioco mi faceva morire dal ridere!poi quando mangiava il peperoncino e diventava nervoso era uno spasso!

    bellissimo!!!

  • I've never owned or even seen a Turbo Grafx-16, but judging by the PSP/PS3 version of this game, it probably would have been a pretty cool system to have owned!

  • Headbuts Pour! xD

  • Ahh, the memories.

I need to buy a new controller so I can play this again..

(My last one gave out a few years ago)

This is still one of the best video game series I've ever player <3

  • Now available for download on ps3.

  • NEED A DISPENSER HERE

  • I played this on the original Turbo Graphix 16 and yes this was among the finest games on this system. Splatterhouse the original one was my favorite though and also Ninja Spirit was pretty amazing too. So those were the best.

  • SCOUT'S ADVENTURE

  • Lol they had elevators in the stone age?! Huh they're not as primitive as I thought.

  • @Damauveropolis Yes. If you would watch the History channel you will find that there's many things in history that we didn't think was possible. I'd contribute the elevators to the aliens myself.

  • As a joke i say someone has a head like Bonk and they are clueless....Funny shit

  • bonk boink need a inspecter here!

  • BONK BOINK!

  • 3:35 I lmaod XD

  • I was always impressed by how smooth the animation is in this game.

  • My childhood

  • Turn on the turbo switch. Win.

  • Is this DAN the POKER MAN.

  • I heard one of Bonk's descendants is a matricidal closet homosexual with world domination plans. I believe his name is Stewie.

  • Stone Age Ziddan :P

  • ahh memories!!!!

  • lawl, i remember this, nintendont and sega just made epic masscots and everyone wanted one for sells, this one was turbo graphx's. epic.

  • wow this game has amazing details even by today's standards

how many times do you actually see a 2d game where hitting the floor has its own animation? its just ridiculously smooth

  • He bonks things with his head and he goes apeshit when he eats meat, best game ever

  • Best TG16 card ever

  • This game is priced over $80 on ebay :(

  • Good ole memories.

  • why would anybody want to eat anything inside of a dinosaur's mouth? he swims through what is considered the digestive stomach acids. this is indeed a very wierd game. lol

  • Way to use that melon! =]

  • boink

  • I totally came here looking for a TF2 Scout remix of a game's theme song. Anyone else?

  • @140jeff15834 actually a bonk remix of Bonk's Adventure would not only be awesome, but I'm sure it'd violate some time paradox somewhere.

  • I remember when I first played this. I must have been 4 or 5...Maybe younger. I was outside swimming and I was called in for a suprise from my father. I didn't know much about games but he introduced me to the wild, Meat eating, Head bonking caveman that would change my world. A few days later, I remember my first rage against a video game...Then It was trying to get over the first wall in the 2nd stage. Now it's those fucking Commando and One Man Army kids...

  • Unags, was this your initial playthrough of the game? If so, were you freaked out by the meat version of Bonk? He scares me.

  • I miss this game

  • hahaha 1:28 - 1:33 FAIL

  • Man!, this sure brings back memories. I used to play the crap out of this game in 1993 back when i was a patient at the Shriner's Hospital for Children in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The recreation room at the hospital had a few videogame consoles you could play with, including an NES and Turbografx 16 videogame console. I have been waiting for another chance to play this game ever since.

I have played the NES version of this game, but its not the same. This is the REAL Bonk's Adventure

  • the root of all bald space marines \m/

  • I'm gonna headbutt ya, I'm gonna headbutt ya, I'm gonna headbutt ya!

  • @lunei66 I just noticed,is that quote a reference to this game?

  • This music has just made my day.

  • hey chuckleheads im talkin to you! BONK!!!

  • Thumbs up if you accidentally entered here looking for something TF2 scout related.

  • @rabbidfan lol yeah.

  • fuck mario!

  • @omid11 Why is it that every fanbase of any platformer that isn't Mario hates it? Jealous?

  • This reminds me of Armenta

  • hey is somebody keeping track of my heads batted in..BONK!

  • need a dispansa hear

  • The wiivwer gave this a bad review. Why : \? It looks like fun and it has great music.

  • The finest on the TG16? Nah... But it's fine trilogy of platformers. All fun games. Gotta love the prehistoric setting. Not a lot of platformers like that.

  • My favorite game

  • Played this game at my grandma's house every day, I was the only one of the grandkids that beat it. Great game.

  • Despite popular belief, Scout from TF2 isn't a big fan of this game.

  • i miss the old days

  • I'm gonna headbut ya!

  • Haa! This dude is fighting Pokemans! Ha ha ha!!!

  • A game where you have to use your head to get anywhere. Timeless.

  • wait... how did the inside of a turtle lead to a cave??? o_o

  • My aunt gave me turbo grafx 16 back in the day and this game and I was like what the hell is this but I am glad she did because I loved this game as soon as I played it!

  • The game's just too cool! I mean, c'mon - the dude attacks with his HEAD!

  • Scout's game O-O

    mediiiic hellllp!

  • great music haha

  • Why does people say "XD"

  • 16 bit? They didn't put paralax scrolling in?

  • Well, the moon up top is moving at a slower rate...

  • @sportygrrrrrrl11998 Turbo grafx system does not support parallex. It's like nes.

  • @sportygrrrrrrl11998 This is a very early game...remember that.

  • Comment removed

  • its Natalie Portman and her deadly forehead!

  • This is the scout as a Boy. XD

  • They remade this game for PS but never released it in the US. A shame because it looked really sweet in the trailers.

  • I liked the part he said BONK.. ...um, wait..

  • those were the days.

  • Comment removed

  • I think it likes him.

  • @WhiteKhakis LMAO!

  • ah gotta get the meat and go apeshit

  • Is anyone keepin track of my at-bat here?

    Bonk.

  • I remember that system had it for a minute way back in 92

  • Turbo-Bonx -16

  • I'm gonna headbutt ya! I'm gonna headbutt ya! I'm gonna headbutt ya! I'm gonna headbutt ya!

  • What's with all these games that have levels where you go inside a creature's belly? There's that level here, they did that in Chuck Rock and in the Incredible Hulk game on the Genesis and SNES, hell even Zelda has gone in that direction. Why did the game developers keep insisting on putting characters through disgusting ordeals like that?

  • It's still popular, check out the new "Mario & Luigi" game! I really don't know exactly what's up with this kind of thing... I mean, I don't exactly place getting eaten and, uh... "working my way out" high on my fantasy scenarios list.

Maybe it gives free reign for developers to do whatever nutty things they want, 'cause, who knows what all those kooky things inside a giant lizard looks like? ...or maybe it's because one dude did it, the game sold, and now everyone else thinks it's a standard.

  • When he dies his eyes bug out and he froths? That's kind of depressing.

  • Um, wow, yeah, I guess it sort of is if you think of it like that. Keeping in mind that the whole game is supposed to have an exaggerated, childish, manga look kinda explains it, some.

  • Just for fun, I went on Wikipedia and typed in "TurboGrafx 16." One thing their article mentioned is that TurboGrafx 16 had a hard time getting support from third-party software developers and publishers. And one of the reasons for this was that Nintendo was engaging in anti-competitive practices that were later ruled illegal.

  • Yeah, I remember Nintendo did some stuff like that. Even if it was the wrong thing to do, it worked out for them in the long run. Business is a sticky thing.

  • I more or less forgot that the TurboGrafx 16 system ever even existed. For some reason (or perhaps a combination of reasons), this system just never really picked up steam. I personally only remember ONE of my friends having one of these things when I was a kid.

  • It apparently rivaled the NES in Japan, but I've hardly heard mention of it myself. Maybe it was expensive?

  • Is he Scout as a baby? BONK!

  • Way-out!! XD

    Seems like a good game.

  • everyone prefer the game they played first

    this is better than Mario.

  • Nah, I doubt that was the intent at all. If anything, he looks more and more sunburned to me. Just a pallete swap to make the change obvious along with some anime/manga expression that gets the point across, really.

They were cheap? Never knew. The system you had sounds interesting, might have to look it up sometime. (I've never had contact with TurboGrafx before this)

  • I thought it would be scout bonk and boink

  • Sorry to disappoint. Is that something to do with the Team Fortress 2 Scout character?

  • yes

  • Wow, I played that game too a long time ago but never realized how much it was a Super mario bros copycat. Stomping the enemies, invincibility meat vs. star, faces vs.coins etc...that's crazy!

  • Aw, it's different enough! For one, he controls like a... caveman. Also, instead of stomping on people with your feet, you use the opposite side and bonk 'em with your head!

  • two completely different games. imo bonk had a considerably different amount of depth. dont forget SMB2 wasnt even a mario game originally. every platformer is in some ways similar.

  • Wow, I used to play this game all the time when I was a kid. What a classic.

  • Now that I've seen footage, I am interested in possibly getting this game. I just want to know first though. How hard does this game get? This game reminds me of Mario, but better because you have a decent amount of moves with Bonk's head. And now I know why they call him Bonk. Would you recommend this game for download on Virtual Console and why. Please. Thanks!

  • I got it because I wanted to see what the TurboGrafx system was capable of and heard that this was a fun platformer for it. It does get a bit harder as you go along, and you probably won't be able to beat the final boss your first try, that's for sure. Once you learn where hidden items are, it becomes a lot easier.

Would I recommend it? There are better platformers out there, but if you're curious about the headliner for TurboGrafx, I'd say try it out!

  • Thanks! Cool! Sounds like this game should be fun! I like the different moves Bonk has.

  • Because its an all time classic. All the Bonk games are excellent. I liked it better than Mario.

  • I Have This On My Game Boy. And Soon Next Time I Go On Ebay I'm Gonna Get The TurboGrafx-16 Vershin.

  • This game has always been a classic for me, ever since I watched my brother play it on the original system.

As soon as it came onto VC it was an Insta-get, this and the two Bonk games afterward.

I just LOVE the invincibility. XD

  • The game's got style! That you can't deny.

  • hahaha yeah bonk the typical wife beating caveman

  • TurboGrafx 16 is my first console in which I owned and loved for many years. It's also the first console in which I could say that I've beaten my first game all the way through without cheats or a guide. Bonk's Adventure have been my first game in which I've done so. Second would be Yoshis' story, then Super Mario World, but Bonks' Adventure started my obsession with video games. It was straight forward and simple, yet challenging. When I think of video games. Good times.

  • u missed noob lol

  • omg did you know there is a remake for the Gamecube I just found that out but the veggies and fruit is different in this one

  • Bonk is one of the best mascots ever, too bad he's forgotten I mean all 3 of gs games were classic and unlike Sonic they remained good

  • Inside the dinosaur's belly is a good place to get extra lives. After you grab the 1up at 5:13 you can get under those tadpole things below you and keep jumping from underneath them to rack up a silly amount of points. There's also a hidden 1up to the right of you at 6:10. Just jump into where the gray bricks end and the dinosaur's body begins.

  • You sure know your Bonk!

  • you missed a couple of secrets in the first level. There's a free guy right at the beginning if you land on your head just to the left of the start sign.

  • Yeah, I was a new guy when I recorded this. I think this was the second time I played it.

  • I remember this. Very nice game! ;-)

  • Very good game! Great background music, good gameplay, and a chacter whose head is 5 times as big as the rest of him.

  • The first rival to Mario that mattered because Sonic wasn't on the radar til' 1991 and Alex Kidd was a joke. Games were great but he didn't stick

  • Oh the fond childhood memories of when I was 4

. I do love this game.

  • this game was so badass. thanks for the vid, now I dont have to go buy the system and game to relive childhood

  • Heh, alright.

  • This was a fun game. Thanks for the memories.

  • ...or stirring them up at least. No problem!

  • Now, I didn't say that...

I found it to be entertaining enough. My comment was basically alluding the the fact that he is no Mario, and should not be expected to control like one.

  • It's... different. Bonk handles like a, uh, caveman.

  • As soong as I saw this video, I went and watched all of them, and it's amazing, how much I can remember of it, considering I only played it when I was about... maybe 4. And Kudos to you as well, for beating what I can think of, being one of the hardest games I have ever played! I thank you for posting the entire game. Reminds me of my childhood.

  • I heard so much about the game, so I had to try it. Also, I heard that the TurboGrafx included a "Turbo" button on their controllers, but I decided against using it. I wanted to beat it without turning Bonk into a spinning pinwheel.

Glad to hear the video reminded you of earlier times.

  • Yeah, I rememeber my older brother turning him into a spinning pinwheel, even without the turbo button. He was always good at mashing buttons. Again, I can't thank you enough for posting the videos, I've been watching them on a daily basis, and it's been fantastic :)

  • i heard about this on one of the winekone's videos lol

it looks kind of like the same concept as Mario lol

  • It's a sidescrolling platformer, if that's the concept you mean in comparison.

  • i'm not sure if that's exactly it. i mean like how he jumps on the stuff and then it dies or whatever they do lol.

and then when he gets that one berry or whatever it was he can run through and kill everything without dying himself. and a lot of the things in the level kind of looked like it too.

  • It's kind of like Mario, a more awkward controlling Mario at that. Personally, I always thought that it was kind of different how you couldn't just jump on enemies without using your head!

  • I remember getting this game and a turbo grafx for free from my aunt for Christmas 1990 or 1991, I was like what the heck is this game and system but I liked it. I was really spoiled that year because I got a regular Nintendo with Super Mario & Duck hunt as well from my parents..

  • Lucky kid!

  • ive been looking for this game for so long, and i forgot the name of it ;_; im so happy you posted this. i loved this game ^^ reminds me of when i was 8 years old :D

  • Don't you hate it when that happens? I've played a lot of random old games, so I get people who only remember little things about an older game ask me to help identify them.

  • I still have my TurboGrafx and the game. I always hated that you couldn't save, but it was a fun game anyway. Brings back memories...

  • 良いモノ見せてもらいました...有難うございます。

  • Thanks. I don't really understand your language, but I think I've got your meaning.

It's in mono because that's all YouTube allowed when I first uploaded it. I can now upload things in stereo, though.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Thank you for posting this up! I remember getting this for my tenth birthday a gift from my dad. And boy! did I play it all the way through the end and saved the princess and I also finished Bonk's Revenge.

  • No problem!

I never managed to get my hands on a Turbografx, so this was my first opportunity playing it, myself.

  • hey white I posted Bonk's Adventure onto youtube I did before but it was horrible so I done it again plus you might wanna see it there something when you start the game you didn't get

  • i liked when he gets all mad when he eats meat......I used to wear this game out

  • Yeah he goes nuts! Too bad he still controls like a caveman.

  • I remember when I got the turbo grafix 16 all my friends were like "what the hell is that thing...... no seriously im not staying over at your house if you dont have a nintendo"

  • i played this alllllllllllllll the time on the turbografx 16.... good times... jesus that was forever ago!

  • I've never been fortunate enough to play one of those systems, good thing the Wii supports its games!

  • Oh yeah, the memories...

  • Fucking own a TG16, played this shit back in the day.

  • ok I can't take this anymore i think u better get the 1 up 1st before u go eating the big meat

  • Pardon? (Clarification needed)

  • what I'm trying to say is it might be better to get the extra life before you get the big piece of meat in the water in the dino's belly

  • Ah.

  • i have the one for the game boy!

  • Bonk looks like Frankenstein's monster after eating one piece of meat in that one!

  • Hey; I played somthing like that in the SNES. But the levels in your vid are completely diffrent; except for all the monsters. It's fun really.

  • This is the original game for the TurboGrafx-16, although, it is emulated on the Wii (Bought from Virtual Console). I don't really remember what the SNES version was like, although I do recall there being sequels on that system.

  • The game on the SNES was called Super bonk.

  • Hey WhiteKhakis how are you I finally got Bonk Adventure and also the internet which is what I am on now lol talk to you later
