I have Facebook only because a friend who moved away wanted to keep in touch that way, and for a year she was the only person I knew on there. Then other people I knew started asking if I had Facebook and would send friend request, and then people who I didn't even know, I don't post very much so I don'l look like I have much a life (which I don't) , but don't think people want to hear about everything I'm doing every minute of the day.

I miss how easy it was to make "Connections" on MySpace, But not the Problems that MySpace had, Facebook does get a little tiresome, but you can edit it to read only a few of your HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of "friends" and just go see what they have to say when you want too... the only innovative thing bill gates did was realized that making software would make a lot of money. micro soft become the wall mart of soft buzz. copying ideas and selling them cheaper. quality was fine before the internet came around then windows quality fell through the floor. it far too easy to make virus for windows that suck up computer power. @DevHQLessons what ideas? the gui that mac copied from xerox or perhaps he copied the ipad with tablet computers in the 90's. bill Gates was incredibly innovative he just couldn't do any more because the government said it they were to big and it wasn't fair for smaller companies so they made them stick to computer software, in a different world we would all be in houses and cars with microsoft software in them, with all devices 'talking' to each other.

@raystinks1 Steve Jobs drove the simplicity and concepts that we all love which come with Apple. You are correct that many of the ideas were taken from Xerox, but many of them were created by Apple themselves.

As for Bill's innovative personality - if what your saying in the case, then that's a huge shame. My points of view simply come from what I've watched and read about it all, which on the whole seems to represent Bill as more of a thief than anything else.

Hey Lamarr! Great vid as always. I think you're right about Facebook being an information overload and interesting how you make that connection to people being socially disconnected at the same time. So true. A lot of it I think is because Facebook is losing people's interest, but people still feel obligated to have an online identity; same time, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn all have their own speed of information – LinkedIn by the day, Facebook typically by the hour, Twitter by the min.

Facebook isn't a bad thing, but it can be if you don't know how to be private. I deleted my account and made a new one recently so I could get rid of all the crap I'd put up previously. It's great now...I can still keep in the loop with friends (face it, a lot of social events are organised through it), but I have disabled 99% of my facebook so people can see barely anything.

I don't consider a facebook friend a "friend" unless I know them in person. At least in chatrooms, you can carry on a conversation more fluidly, but there doesn't seem to be many of those anymore.
