If I remember correctly John McCain was offered his freedom as a POW but turned it down saying that all the other guys there had to be let go. So how does that not make him a war hero? He was willingly to go through the same torture as everyone else even when he was offered freedom.

As a vietnam era vet, I also take no offence, She was not dissing other vets but merely pointng out that her family knows what the real world is like. They have as a family sacrificed for their country.

All I'm saying is that I'm voting Obama because i honestly believe he has WAY better judgement than McCain.
The Eisenhower family argees and so does 70 retired generals and admirals of our military.
I mean FUCK the whole "experience" argument. Dick Cheney got TONS of experience way more than all four people on the ballot but he ain't running.

I am also a Nam vet and saw nothing wrong with what Megan said. The only people that dissed me as a Vet were the liberal assholes in the USA that were waiting for us when we got home....and one of them was John Kerry. I did 2 tours BTW and Kerry told Congress that we were murdering people in Vietnam while I was there. There was another thing that happened during both of my tours...John McCain was a POW when I went in the service, while I did both tours, and when I got out....nuff said!

But millions of Americans lost in all of the Democrats' wars in the 20th Century. Compare that to 4000 in Iraq. Every life is precious, but for someone to say (not you) that Bush has killed many people is ridiculous.

She should speak this way about her father. I respect him too and we all should. I've got a few problems with the campaign he's allowing to be run though. It doesn't bode well for man who is supposed to be able to run our country. I don't think he gets it.

However speaking of daughters, Did you know Americans that Susan Eisenhower the granddaughter of the very general who led us to victory against the Nazi curse endorses Obama!

My granpa served under Ike. Many of Americans have grandparents living or dead who did also.
