Well done :) I also know this scat by heart! It does seem to go a bit to fast for you sometimes, as if you're struggling to keep up with the speed of it...maybe if you relax a bit more ("go with the flow," to use a horrible cliché), it'll sound even better :) But very nice!

Did you see the one Ella did in 1983 in Japan...? awesome she changed some things since the 1960 Berlin concert ....all versions are great and there is a version of her and Manhatten Transfer. from 83 on the Grammys

mr sunwalker, there's a video of her singing the same song 20 or so years after the recording, some parts are exactly the same. of course off the cuff is the beauty of jazz, but it's hard to beat something that's already good.

Did she perform the same scat every time? I always thought that stuff was off-the-cuff, made up as she went along. Perhaps not.
