I want to make YouTube song covers. Record vocals separately and then record guitar seperately, put it together and then add the audio track of the song I'm doing. And I want to be able to add effects to my vocals because I'm not a proper singer. Does anyone know of any software and hardware that can help me achieve all of that? Thanks :)

All this talk of proximity effect etc, and you chose to use a lav mic on your shirt to record this? You should have had all mics recording so you could edit between them to demonstrate the effects.
@AlexZamora1234 Nope, I have an Audio Technica AT2020 and it's only Cardioid. If you want multiple polar patterns, look to spend at least $200 on a mic. The AT2020 was only $100.
@holland151 If you are looking for a budget mic with multiple polar patterns, look into the Behringer C-3. I got one for under $80, and while it's nowhere near the quality of my Blue mics, it does a decent job and is actually not bad sounding. The versatility of three patterns is great and the price point isn't bad for someone wanting to experiment. Thanks to learning how to use this mic, I finally splurged on a nice ribbon mic (figure of 8). Great for Blumlein method recording.
hey can someone tell me what that black thing on the end of the mic is for i keep seeing it but dont know why its used. like at 10 seconds in on the black mic.
@dnice4732 Keep in mind that at under $400 these are still very entry level mics, and why there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to get decent recordings with them, you might find them lacking in some scenarios. Quality mic pres are important too. At a higher budget, my personal favorites are the Blue Microphones Kiwi, or an AKG C414, to a UA 6176, and my go to combo the U87 with an Avalon 737sp, very warm and beautiful combo. All conversion handled by an Apogee Ensemble.
what do u thnk of a sterling? i have one its a condensor mic all black for 100 dollers its pretty good but it seems very basssy and i have to compress and eq vocals but other than that i was surprissed by the mic
@dnice4732 I personally haven't tried the Sterling. From my experience, best you can get in the sub-$400 microphone range are the Rode NT1A (good for male vocals, it can get very harsh around the 2-5k frequencies), the Bluebird from Blue Microphones is decent too, so is their Baby Bottle.
@TwitchyOnThemBeatz I have a set of the ST79's, large diaphragm multi pattern FET condensers and they are awesome, great mics and the ST69 tube is slick
@dnice4732 Funny reading your comment because I just bought the exact same mic earlier today. The guy who sold it to me said it was the best mic for that price.
@BringerOfTruth123 did you really let me know what you think of it i like it a lot but i never really hear anyone talk about it but yeah for 100 i dont thnk u can beat the quality im still using this mic ive had it for a while now and ive played guitar through it to and that also sounded good but yeah let me how u feel bout wen u get to using it
I'll definitely let you know what I think of it. If you're interested I'll share some of my recordings with you. I think it will work well for me. The man at the store had nothing but high praise for it. Do have any advice for the sterling in particular? I see you said it was very bassy.
@BringerOfTruth123 yeah for sure that would be cool to hear some recordings cause i dont think ive ever heard any done on this mic besides mine and as far as advise really none im still kinda experimenting with it puting it in diffrent spots when i record and for the bassy vocal it does seem i need to eq and roll some of the low end off but i could just be me or who im recording but yeah just keep me posted im gna ad u as a friend and subscribe to your channel so yea
