I always had a hard time dealing with the unjust environment i met at school. I wasn't bullied, to be honest at times I was probably the bully and what that man said was so true it struck a nerve. I'd be so enraged by that mandatory waste of time I met with everyday with an overwhelmed and underfunded school board. I aced all my classes and felt so held back that i would push the arbitrary and pointless rules as a way to give myself a feeling of control. This ultimately led to y failure.
@bunkmasterflex In ways because i felt so undervalued or insignificant in the actual classes, I strove to find value and significance in my peers which at such a young age led to very, very, unfortunate consequences. In essence because we're all relegated to feel like such peasants in the school, we all strive to be kings among our classmates and friends. A goal which will inevitably lead you to hurt others to better yourself.
@bunkmasterflex I've often wondered why students aren't pushed to learn in a more co-operative manner. School was always oriented in the form of a competition. A way to separate the cream from the crop. knowledge was viewed as a personal possession to be stockpiled and never shared. Certain kids were supposed to fail. They weren't supposed to be given the tools to succeed, the system depended on them them to already have it.
I have a big complaint about Rethink Reviews. Why aren't there more of them!? I love Jonathan's insightful analysis of films, and their social and political implications. Please release more reviews.
@alphacause Thanks so much! I actually had to take a break because some big stuff (all positive) came up and ate up a lot of my time, and now I'm going out of the country for a month, but I promise we'll be coming back strong in the new year!
