"I know nothing of god, or the devil. I have never see a vision nor learned a secret that wouldn't damn or save my soul. And as far as I know, after 400 years...I am...The oldest...Living Vampire...In the world."
@TheOReport1994 First, you've made a big mistake by letting new readers know something that is supposed to be shocking and completely unexpected in the reading process (that is part of the beauty of reading a novel). Second, KEEP READING... the next book is "Armand the vampire" and you'll be surprised again.
@TheOReport1994 I did it. I have read all Vampire Chronicles and The New Tales the Vampires, and Armand never died: He only was expeled from the church for the sunlight explotion, and he was cautive under the ice. You wiil what happened to him after this fact when you read the next book, "Armand the vampire".
Marius was trapped in ice, not Armand, Armand died by stepping out into the sunlight,. If you have read Pandora, David speaks with her and he says how sad it is that Armand is gone.
@TheOReport1994 Actually, Marius was trappen in ice in The Queen of the Damned by Akasha's power. Pandora's book happening after Memnoch the Devil's facts, and before of The Vampire Armand. David told this bacause he believed Armand "died" in ths moment when he stepping out into the sunlight. When you read The Vampire Armand, you will know about his real fate, and how was saved.
oooh!! I love Armand!! eeeh! XD he has to be my most favorite vampire out of all the vampires i have ever known!! so seductive without even saying a word although I love Lestat also! but who can resist the adorible little 17 year old Russian with the auburn hair!...but one question though..WHY IS ARMAND A LATINO OR ITALIAN IN THE INTERVIEW OF THE VAMPIRE MOVIE!!
@Centarri1992, Veinotte.com says: "The roles of Santiago & Armand...were filled by European actors, Stephen Rea & Antonio Banderas...Banderas received critical acclaim for his role in Jonathan Demme's "Philadelphia," appealed to the filmmakers as ideal choices to carry the demands of the roles." From all I've read & from listening to Anne Rice & Neil Jordan (the director), there had always been controversy over a child vampire, Claudia, which was taboo for various reasons.
@Centarri1992, there was so much in Rice's story that was potentially considered disturbing and offensive, some compromises had to be made with characters & scenes. Banderas did a fantastic job portraying Armand, and it was just easier to have a more worldly, older depiction of Armand, than finding a suitable, young-looking, cherubic, "beautiful" actor to be the 17-year-old redheaded Armand (though his Russian name is Andrei, & his eventual maker, Marius, calls him Amadeo).
lol I remember watching this with my sister after like 10 years of not seeing it. We sat down and whenever Armand came on the screen we had to put subtitles on, because Antonio's spanish accent with his vampire was hard for us to understand. We would think he was done talking and turn the subtitles off, and he'd immediately start talking again and we'd be like "Dammit, Armand!" rofl it was funny. :P
Yeah he is kinda weird in the head wasnt he? O.O wonder why he just closed his door to the screaming and yelling of Claudia, Louis, and Madeleine when they were being split up...?
@pinkhottie23 Its because he knew he couldn't do anything about it. He was the leader of them yeah, but there were too many for him to take on. If they'd rebelled he'd be screwed.
Also he wasn't interested in Claudia or Madeline. It was Louie he was more concerned about.
"Or perhaps...This...Is the only real evil left."
"Then god does not exist?"
"I know nothing of god, or the devil. I have never see a vision nor learned a secret that wouldn't damn or save my soul. And as far as I know, after 400 years...I am...The oldest...Living Vampire...In the world."

if you haven't read memnoch the devil do not read any further, this is your last warning.
I CAN'T BELIEVE ARMAND KILLED HIMSELF, I CRIED WHEN HE STEPPED OUT INTO THE SUN.
