  • Love this "I,m Still In Love riddim" some credits not mentioned here is Trinity who did a great toast on the riddim with Three Piece Suit & Ting, that, and the track on this page produced by Joe Gibbs..... Sly n Robbie the Musicians amongst others

  • @eyz6654 do any of the sentences mean anything to anyone?

  • @logick0 on what ?

  • @logick0 Yes they make full sense to me. These girls are basically singing about how nice they look and the area in Uptown Jamaica that they come from and that despite the guy they were with (the ranking dread) seeing them in their underwear he failed to holla at them on road, even though he expressed love and said that seeing them in their (h)alter back nearly gave him a heart attack!

  • sharmone mo fo...............................er

  • skate 2 yeah :)

  • Classic choon! Give mi little base mek mi wine up mi waist!

  • I have to credit PWEI for turning me on to this tune.

  • I love how Sean Paul and Sasha have used the backing music for their song together, both songs are legends :D

  • Hit #1 on the UK pop chart for 1 week in Feb 1978 - first new #1 of the calendar year

  • uptown tune rankin.

  • :D

  • Unbelievably this was a UK #1 in February 1978.

  • @FloatBuoy It was #1 the day I was born, lucky for me, Grease was released this year as well so a lot of my school mates had some shite of the soundtrack as #1 on their birthday.Give likkle bass, make me wine up me waist or Summer lovin' had me a blast, no argument there!.

  • Don't do ganja, just do your own ting

Don't follow others, follow your own heart

Don't listen to me, make up your own mind

  • Skate 2! I love this song

  • Love it when they go "ooh!"

  • @joefax530 same!

  • If i was gonna have a claim to fame i wouldn"t say no to this. I remember buying this out of Woolworths of all places but i cant believe it was 33years ago, ohh maaaan! Wonder if they ever get much of a royalty now.

  • When it got to number one in 1978 it was a surprise...and it still sounds so fresh.

One of those songs that manages to sound timelessly cool.

  • Love it, love it love it

  • Dally due cunts and spring..

  • David Starkey loves this.

  • what is do the lyrics to this song?

  • One of my mums fave songs ever. I remember seeing her groove to this when it came out.

  • Skins

  • 13 animals

  • Chill song

  • heard this on skins. so good

  • Nobody seems to know what happened to these two....

  • Summer of '76, London, heat-wave, drought, test match at the Oval (when Windies fans were still allowed to play the drums/tin cans), my first Notting Hill carnival at the age of ten. My mum forbade my sister and I from going but one of our Aunties took us and it descended into riots. A landmark year!!

  • @sevvendee7 Nice story! This song brings back the seventies. :-)

  • omg what has colour of skin got to do with enjoying a particular type of music?? I'm white and both my parents and me loved reggae and ska. My dad died in March and everytime I hear this type of music, it reminds me of him so that speaks volumes surely? x

  • omg what has colour of skin got to do with enjoying a particular type of music?? I'm white and both my parents and me loved reggae and ska.

  • I'm white and I love this song, problem?

  • @TheGamesCascade yes very big problem mon..... yehh..

  • me and my mum can argue till we're blue in the face, but put this tune on and we'll sing and dance like we've been best mates for years, and all our problems go away!

  • im human and i love this song, problem?

  • nah pop no style, a strictly roots!

  • Music is music. Race shouldn't figure into it at all. Just enjoy it!

  • utter crap! brilliant!

  • one of the finest musical recordings ever. my mad irish mum introduced me to this. my equally mad daughter has been loving this since she could get up and shake it. im the stereotypical tatooed english prick that shouldnt be involved with this type of music, but ive loved it since my earliest memories. fuck the black white shit, its quality! why cant people just enjoy it? if you dont like that then fuck off.

  • @mcracken69 got this full blast through my 5.1 and i am a 63 young grandad tonight is fukin reggea night chaps

  • @Lizardkingsqueen What's being white got to do with it?

  • @sicahillmuqi Because it's looked upon as black music and clearly it has something to do with it judging by the comments on this video.

  • 13 people nah av nooo styyyyyle

  • i love the intro

  • I can't begin to explain why i love this record so much as it's quite unlike anything else i listen to. It really doesn't matter. Some records cross all boundaries and this is one of them. BRILLIANT!

  • if kids grew up with reggae instead of Cher and Beiber the world would be a fuck of a better place

  • Enciende la pipaa ..y levita tu mente ...ganja live in my soul

  • I' strikly roots.

  • Great tune and performance... but their is something wrong with this version! Its been compressed or run through a digital signal processor... see if you can get the original analogue uncompressed version, its much better. Why must these audio engineers wreck everything... because they have a mixing desk they just can't resist playing with the toys on it, d'oh! :(

  • great song, they sound like there about t o burst out laughing at any moment soon.

  • I love this!!

  • Im 20 in 2 days. Seems weird I was listening to this roughly 15-16 years ago. Scary. Still... this song make me feel irie ;)

  • I use to hate reggae ( excepting some songs of bob marley and the wailers ). But honestly, i love this song.

  • did any1 ever cover this song in the early 90's?? i seem to remember it

  • @mrperfect1879 Sean Paul Ft. Sasha - I'm still in love with yo

  • @mrperfect1879 There was a verson of this by Ali and Frazer in 94 I think

  • @conbgely. This song was written in response to a popular song of the day. Risking oversimplification, it accuses the other song of being affected and ostentatious and defends the traditional style of music in the Caribbean ("no pop, no style, strictly roots") and by implication the simple and traditional patterns of life ("love is all I bring"). It is roots (both musically and metaphorically) and not whatever that is en vogue that deserves "top ranking".

  • what does this song talk about? what does it mean? im curious i just wanna know its about

  • I wish this song was never written, so I didn't have to hear it on Radio 2.

For the same reason, I also with Elvis Costello was never born.

  • Love is all I bring inna me khaki suit and ting

  • the macarena brought me here.... :l

  • Beastie Boys brought me here

  • @JamieDD1991 So what you are doing here then?

  • @JamieDD1991 don't play it and pull off the hating. this is fire and if you knew a ting you would realize the music you like probably comes from roots

  • The Skankin Babylonians (Snakefinger & friends) did this tune back in '84-'86-was a real gas with vocals done by Philip-did Anthea n Donna proud; I'd say.

  • bloodclaat!! pull up!!<3

  • Phew!

  • i wanted to listen to this for years but didnt know what its called untill it came on magic am today

  • This song is a timeless classic, the cover picture though..how unflattering is that? The good looking one on the left,(I can`t remember who`s who)looks like a bloke with stubble and something dribbling down her/his chin.Shame coz she`s really lovely and feminine in real life, what a bodge of that foto though.

  • when was the first time this beat was used?

  • @sweethippy67 You mean the riddim? Alton Ellis' 'I'm Still in Love'.

  • @MegaSnowCat123 Hahahaha! Holy shit. You play RUNESCAPE. Fucking runescape. You are actually a virgin!

  • @MegaSnowCat123 Fuck you. Fucking troll. You're just looking for a fight. Actually it's pretty ironic because in real life you're probably a fat virgin who gets bullied at school. Do us all a favor and die.
