@Nd179 No she is actually famous for having really great records, her songwriting, her singing, and her raw emotional talent. And you should never be so cruel as to say thankfully someone dropped dead. He killed himself and it was/is a tragedy...and the part that few look at is the fact that the person who loved him had to endure this. Not only the fact that they had a little girl together but they loved each other. You are sick.
I prefer to be positive in my commentary, but I'm listening hard to find something redeeming about this cover. When people try too hard to be authentic, their cultural productions come off empty and plastic. For my money, the best version of this song is a rock steady rendition by the great Jah-maican tenor lead, Pat Kelly. His vocals are painfully sweet, the groove is rockin,' and the tragic inevitability at the heart of this song really comes through. Sample that if you want to be moved.
i disagree, i think this is a nice cover. its a song about somewhere she has been, making it sincere. her voice brings out the emotions of the lyrics, more intense when the higher notes and rhasps are hit.
I disagree...I think everyone of the ppl covering this has been there and this sucks...Theres no soul...And she manages to get the lyrics wrong...THIS I.S. B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T. AND THAT "GREAT HIGH NOTE " IS RYAN
Awful.

Sort of a drunken, wasted, version, by the former lead singer of Hole. They named the band after her one redeeming feature.

Courtney Love is only famous because she screwed that one guy who thankfully dropped dead and his drummer went on to form Foo Fighters.

@Nd179
That one guy was Kurt Cobain
And his drummer was Dave Grohl
