The Bestbuy I go to have little section dedicated to apple products including monitor, keyboard, mouse, computers, and even software. Even MIcrocenter have a section dedicated to apple products. I was there. So you're saying that having a Microsoft store is pointless just because the other stores have many Microsoft products. What will you say if Bestbuy sells apple products in a section. Are you going to say "the apple store is pointless" just because the stores has apple products.

Nintendo make their own store in other citys such as New York dedicated to Nintendo stuff. While other stores like gamestop sells Nintendo products. Are you going say "Nintendo store is pointless". Ah uh, I've lots of Macs outside of Apple Stores here - JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman, etc...

And they are not on mail order or whatever, they are displayed side by side with PC's... which IMHO is really cool to be able to compare the whole range of them side by side.

And on another note. Why didn't Microsoft kill off Apple during the OS9 days? What would happen if Apples dies? Oh yeah Microsoft would have a monopoly in its hands and then have to divide. So what does it do keep Apple as the weird step-child so that it continues its reign.  Vista will get its bugs fixed and when it does Samuel is going to be sucking Microsoft dick. Hell he's going to be the first one at the Microsoft store.

They didn't kill Apple during OS 9 because believe it or not, people use Macs and some of their software was on the Mac, why would Micro$oft kill something that makes them money? They're not stupid. And now thanks to Vista, they're in no position to kill Apple and Service Pack 1 was no improvement.

Hey look at through this avenue. You can go to JcPenny and purchase Guess and other brand of clothes and these stores have their own stores as well. Do these stores do well? Of course they do look at the revenues they pull in. Oh and give Microsoft some credit because of all the 3rd party hardware that it has Windows is able run on them. Can OSX do this no because they are not even remotely on the same level as Microsoft. Customization man. Can OSX run on legacy?

First of all don't categorize me with fan boy. I have been working on computers longer than you have been around. Second of all I give Microsoft props. No other OS can function in the sheer numbers it cranks out. Finally, Microsoft has never come out with a store and I begin to wonder how a little teenager would know better than a multi-billion dollar business. Kid go back to school and study marketing. Zune was never meant to compete but to draw on those that don't want iPods.

lets see they have been losing moneyy on Vista losing money on the Zune and losing money from the RRoDs on the 360 the Zune was ment to compete with the ipod microsoft even said so now iTunes is the number 1 selling music retailer in the world apple is the microsoft of the music industry and with the growths in market share for compuuters and 40% market share of smart phones. Microsofts' take over was merely luck and buying out companies from there.

Same goes for Apple. You can find Ipods everywhere, you can find most apple stuff at non-Apple stores. It's a cheaper way for them to make money by not having to pay stores to put the products up. Only thing Apple might have that isn't sold in other stores like Bestbuy and what not is a Mac, but where I live you can buy Macs at Bestbuy. So, in all reality your argument against Microsoft also goes against Apple. Also, there could be reasons for it. Microsoft could start producing new things.

You're missing the point. By cutting out having to deal with another store, Microsoft gets more money per purchase and can sell the products for less (if they choose). It's a scenario that's better for the consumer and for Microsoft.
