So this did not help at all cause you are doing all numbers that (/) evenly but wat if it does not?

Do ones where there are odd numbers? What's the point of doing the samething 3 times?

wooow this actually helped me understand it. i feel so stupid -_-
thanks.

well what if the equation is 3x²+kx+12=0
and we should find the k
what do I do?

@TysonA7med
Divide everything by three. x^2+kx/3+4=0
Now: (a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2.
b may be either +2 or - 2
Therefore kx/3=2x*2 or kx/3=2x*(-2)
Solve for k and you get k=12 or k=-12
It is impossible for k to be +12 therefore it must be -12.
PS:
I dunno if it's common knowledge or not so: 3^2 means three squared and 4*5 means 4 times 5. I'm just not sure cuz it's used mostly in the programming and stuff.
@TysonA7med do they tell you how many solutions there are?

it probably doesnt matter now but u have to find x first then find k

didn't help me, factoring the same number out of each term was not the answer. Next time do more than one type of problem please.
