  • i remember playing this in a gamestop years ago.... Arceus....

  • how do you record that????

  • How did you record that?!?!

  • why couldn't ur friend made some more and sold it!? because of the case of not recording from the DS itself, I can't do LPs of ds games! DX I have an old broken DS but it would of still been useful if i could do what u're donig ;o;

  • My team and I are working on something similar to this:

    watch?v=0-xypwN-TYw

  • I suppose your friend doesn't have an account here...

  • You receorded this vid on emulator?

  • Can you give me some contact information for this friend that built the capture device.

  • people would pay epic amount of money for these, considering getting a ninty official one is for press and insanely rich/important only.....

  • Nintendo makes these them self but they only give them out to companies like IGN and 1up.

Great job making your own capture cables.

  • you should cut the top and botton screens an put them side by side

  • how did you record this?

  • how did your friend make it to where you didn't have to open your ds.

  • "The video signal was grabbed from a real Nintendo DS. No camera, no emulator." What do you mean?

  • He means, that this is being played on an actual DS system. And because of how this is and seems to be recorded, there was no camera. It must have been linked to to the computer or something.

  • Look at "DS video capture over USB" video

  • his friend built an attachment that works like a capture card, look at 4344739's DS video capture over USB video it shows his awesome invention, albeit it is massive

  • It means he recorded the gameplay without using a camera, or without a computer emulator that lets you play ds games on the computer by downloading the ds game files and playing it through a program. He didn't use any of those ways to get this video.

  • From the circiuts in the ds where the image comes from

  • It means he was able to capture the DS gameplay, meaning this guy needs to give me one.

  • Think you can reply soon? It's been a month....

  • Hey man, I'm really interested in this Capture Device for the DS, any chance your friend 4344739 is going to make this a product in a store? He could make a lot of money off of it, and I really want one and wouldn't have the money, or time to make one. Think you can talk to him about it?

  • Oh my god, that's so useful, I wish your friend made more and sold'em, I bet alot would be happy to buy this! I mean, god, look nobody else made this besides your friend on this planet. I've been wanting to record BETTER "Nintendo DS" videos since years...

  • I wish they sold the demo D and P

  • I, like Greenlink, am from Speed Demos Archive. I've been wanting to get a device like this, and am wondering if you would help me contact the person that made this device, to see if he'd make another to sell. I know there are others, like myself (and Greenlink) who would LOVE to have a device like this.

    Greatly appreciated if you would!

  • Your friend is some modding legend.

The people at Speed Demos Archive would love to have something like this very badly. It could make games like Kirby Power Paintbrush and Zelda Phantom Hourglass submittable.

    .

I know you won't help make one for us but you don't mind taking a photo what the DS looks like now (the cables and stuff)?

  • Hey, thanks for your comment!

I wish I could help, but I'm really not good at stuff like this. I only coded the tools to capture raw videos and then convert them to lossless AVIs. Drivers and all that were made by my friend, though.

Anyway, I updated the description with a picture of the setup. I can't open the DS, because I don't have a tool for that, sorry.

  • Wow thanks for taking the time to show us the setup. :)

("I wish I could help, but I'm really not good at stuff like this")

I understand what you are saying, the setup and stuff does look complex in some way.

Keep up with the good work of your Capture tests and your friend's cool ideas of ways to improve it.

  • Wow!
