Lombardo's is also better recorded, and his band's playing is more consistent than Vallee's. Rudy Vallee was the 1290's equivalent to Justin Beiber

Such a wonderful rendition of this song,a bit slow but with that mellow sax section makes this ia great song for this die hard Lombardo fan,thanks for putting this on.

@Crockerish I agree that it's seems slow but it's about the same tempo as Rudy Vallee's version. The Jack Payne version really moves fast.... almost twice the tempo of Lombardo.

@bsgs98: Where did such a pristine recording come from? Surely even a brand new and previously unplayed 78 wouldn't sound this good! Are there electronic filters now to clean up the playback?

@MrGLFan Record condition is the most important factor in getting a good audio transfer. For this record very little filtering was required.
