  • ive got an idea, mix this with an arduino, a PWM shield, a couple of modded servos so they become speed controllers, and a small control panel

  • fucking awesome !!!!!!

now i try to make me room go crazy

  • fucking sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where can I get these lenses?

  • Ebay..

    search for "fresnel lense"

  • lego

  • Thanks for good instructions!!

    Will these work?

    ebay nr. 300289864330

And then cut out the center if the lens?

  • Yea, Those are EXACTLY what you want. One should be enough, and don't just use the center... That won't do much. You want to be off center, and the further away the greater the beam movement. Good Luck.

  • Good ;) Thanks for quick reply ;)

The motors, was the best speed about 1rps(60rpm)?

  • Variable speed. Slow for one effect. Fast for a different effect. Experiment.

  • are frezenal or whatever plastic?

  • Yes. Find them in bookstores as 'page magnifiers'. Flat plastic magnifying lenses.

  • wow man your videos are awesome. I have legos too. maybe you could give me some ideas on how to build a show like yours. thanks

  • I have about 7 videos showing you how to do a lot of things with lasers. Don't forget 'Laser hacked Ipod".

If you want more I have a book...

  • So what kind of laser is this? is it just your standard laser pointer?

  • Yea. Well, a 5mW green...

  • very cool. i love how its built on some lego lol

  • whats the orange thingy in the backround at 1:26, very interesting

  • It was a nice little effect that I bought at Spencer Gifts. It's a concave mirror with a ball hanging from a thread. The ball moves back and forth and the reflected image moves in an opposite motion. You could probably make one yourself with a make-up mirror. Good luck.

  • thanks!

  • u got talent thats awesome

  • Gosh that's clever.

  • This is cool too. Not as amazing as some of the others, but cool.

  • why dont you just get the lasers that you can see in the air rather than getting the smoke and stuff

  • Sorry. All lasers look better with smoke, especially with many of these effects. If you had a laser that could be seen that clearly, you wouldn't want to be pointing at people with eyes. The beams from REAL powerful lasers (melt steel) can't be seen anyway.

  • Ok, I am looking at green lasers now but its not so simple to find a good one thanks to the scams on ebay. I was going to get a 200mw green laser pointer from there but they lack the IR filter so they are only realy like 10mw. I have found a 35mw one over at dragon lasers, will that do? and will the beam still be visible without smoke using it?

  • I've been looking at dragon lasers too. True 35mW should be great for this stuff. The lasers in my video are 20mW or less.

  • Hmm ok. can you see the beam from your laser without smoke? perhaps in a dark room?

  • Oh, in a bright room WITH the lights on.

  • Nice! im probaly going to get either a 15 or a 35mw one, i just hope they deliver in the UK.

  • Good Luck

  • yes they deliver world wide i just got the arora gw 150 mw =} its beutifull and burns things btw i would sugest 35 not 15 if u want to see the beam better

  • great vid keep it up

just wondering how much would a good laser cost?

  • Bright red lasers are going for as little as $3 at WalMart. Pretty nice greens from a variety of sources on the net for as little as $45.

  • ok thanks

  • What power would you suggest for a green laser in a club type setting so that it looks cool, but doesnt blind anyone in the process?

    Cheers

    PS - Great videos btw.

  • Well, over the crowd's head is always the best... But a 20mW beam that is spread out a lot should be fine... Good luck.

  • Ok thanks.
