  • Awesome transitions in the video, must say really think out of the box... has so many deep concepts , meaning.. and to make it bang on target great music, vocals used, d idea of folk music was very good.. amazingly amazing movie.. :)

  • Wow !!This is such an Incredibly Beautiful and visually stunning piece of work.. It is such a shame that it couldn't be completed due to lack of funds. I would really really love to see this piece completed. Is there anything we can do ?

  • Nice Work mam, real natural life lies only in village........don't give up hope, some day India will shine in animated movie too......

  • it is interesting i hope to see the competed film soon

  • beautiful work....when is the whole movie releasing??

  • Hello mam,

My name is Sushil, as almost every1 else who hav commented below, iam also willing 2 get into animation stream. I hav completed my fine arts this year only n now preparing myself for CEED. I thoroughly enjoyed this clip. The forms u hav used in this film sumwht makes me think about Kangra and Pahari paintings. I hav a doubt, in the first part of the clip thr was a candle burning in the bckgrnd of radha and krishna, was this candle only part of the form or thr is a concept behind it?

  • Hats off to you mam, really good work...

It is really disappointing that a artist like you won't get a producer.

But keep the spirits up and complete this movie please... I loved what you have done in this movie.

    I'm a fan of yours...

    Be positive.

  • very very inspiring.. Its my dream to be an animator too and I dream to create animations as beautiful as yours one day

  • Thanks. It looks abstract because it is only a line up of extracts from a feature film in progress. In the film 'Girgit' is a metaphor for the adaptability of Indian migrants in a big city like Bombay.

  • Really a great work .. very abstract.. was the title "GIRGIT " refers to diversity of india .. colours of india....??

  • ma'am you are great...i love your work...

  • ...I cant tell you how much.I have been searching u,reading abt you n all that a crazy fan would do. you are a person who inspiers me to dream the extra bit:)

  • I was in love with what you do the very first time i saw "Printed Rainbow" at a screening of short films in my college, the green of leaves that i saw in the dark room will never go from my eyes.I dint ever see animation at such a level, its like you had opened me a new world, where such detailing n colours with so much life was used.I love whatever you do.Huge fan...

  • you have to make toonpur type film before you make such awesome animation to get funding .great work , amazing animation, look n feel.

  • Amazing work....beautifully done... what sound design...

  • Simply beautiful! looks very feisty and ambitious. and the design, the sound, the detailing is top class. let's hope talented artists like you get backers, in a crooked system where monetary profit and loss is all that matters.

  • Thanks for such an encouraging comment. 'Girgit' was supposed to be a 90 minute feature animation film but ran out of funds and was stopped. Even if Indian animation seems to have arrived, Indian Producers haven't !!!

  • Really a great work .. very abstract.. was the title "GIRGIT " refers to diversity of india .. colours of india....??

  • this is pretty amazing storytelling!!

it looks like indian animation has arrived....miyazaki style!

do you plan to turn it into a feature length? it has a potential....

    best of the wishes.

i am your follower now :)

  • Awesome animation and sound.

  • 100 families a day move to Mumbai. Gosh! India's urbanization run amok. Lovely animation, fluid and with lush colours. Since this film lacks dialogue it appears to rely strongly on background sound and on music to accompany a strong visual impact. A perfect tool for teaching and informing the world on the perils of rampant urbanization in India and perhaps elsewhere.

I liked the tribal character from Karnataka who travelled by canoe until he met a speeding train.

I could give it 14 stars.

  • which medium you used here? is it oil on canvas?

i cant make out? its so perfect. Very nice work. bravo!

  • wow!!!can't wait for this one to be complete.please make sure u keep up this level till the end.all the best.:)

  • great going!! I am sure this film would transform the way animation is perceived in India and around the world. Wish you good luck!!

  • good job

  • I love you Gitanjali Rao!
