  • Simply Hollywood Gold x

  • I don't even know who Bette Davis is, but this was hilarious :D

  • @thewylion

Don't know Bette Davis?! You must be very young. You must look up her movies. She was incredible :) Enjoy!

  • Lol,this is filled with talent, humor and class. You can tell Bette loves it as does Vincent Price.I agree, they don´t make them like they used to.

  • These roasts were just good friends poking good-natured at each other. The new roasts are just disgusting slopfests of has-been and wannabe comedians trying to out-cuss and out-gross each other.

  • She was my favorite female actress....Love thoes eyes...

  • Geoffrey Ross got nothing on Vincent Price

  • They all have ashtrays

  • My God this is funny.Vincent Price was the best.

  • Ya just knew Bette'd be sucking on that cigarette...

  • ok... that was a little amazing. XD

  • He's so sweet!

  • Everyone needs to check out Vincentennial, the 100th birthday film festival going on right now in Saint Louis, Missouri until May 28! His daughter Victoria Price will be hosting two events!

  • that was HILARIOUS...especially the last line!!!

    VP was ALWAYS fantastic!!!

  • 2:59- I love Vincent and Bette having a good laugh together!

    What wonderful, talented actors.

  • if he wasn't a horror actor he could easly become the best comidian of the 20th centuary

  • @rockpop1 he did many more movies that were not horror, but he became known mostly for them, after having done several good ones. Also, he was a real art aficionado.

  • vp rules

  • If you get to the part when he says: ''and in the Virgin Queen she lost her.....'' and you don't laugh...you have no soul :p I LOVE THIS! :) Fave +like! :)

  • When Mr Price was conceived , they lost those molds needed to recreate another. A shame really.

  • @Xarcht Check out Jeffrey Tucker at the Mises Institute. He explains economics as only Vincent Price would do it.

  • Vincent Price was the best he was so funny here

  • vincent price was amazing at what he did its shame more actors and actress cant be like but ofcourse that was when film stars where stars not just celebrities on a big screen and red carpet

  • Vincent Price is intelligent. He doesnt need to swear! far cry from the American sitcom comedies that swamp the screens today! Its about time they took a leaf out the great masters books of the past . They had style grace and wit!

  • Vincent truly was a master of comedy. Even in his most chilling or grotesque roles, an deep vein of icy humor was often present. Here, he really shows the lighter side of that dark humor. And is absolutely hysterical. One of the true geniuses of American film.

  • This is when Roasting Someone was with class and fun...................The new ones are just grose and sick.............Human Garbage.

  • These Roasts are classics; no 'F' bombs, or P C drone.

  • I love and miss Vincent Price.............He was what every Villain Actor should aspire to be! He made some bad movies too and when Hollywood came out with a list of the top Hundred bad Horror films His Wife said he got upset because non of his were ever mentioned...............That is too Cool!..............

  • 3 people who watch don't speak English

  • Risque and classy at once. If you don't think this roast tops the modern trash they call roasts now, see a doctor.

  • Probably one of the best roasts EVER! :D

  • And in Virgin Queen...

  • I love Vincent Price and Bette Davis! This is great stuff.

"In Elizabeth and Essex she lost her beauty, in Dark Victory she lost her eyesight and in The Virgin Queen... LOL!

  • What everyone seems to forget is that these Roasts were made for television. The actual untelevised roasts were much more vulgar so i'm not sure if it were a classier era, just greater censorship on television

  • @frostedflame Us older folks understand quite well that these roasts were made for television. Still, they managed to gain enormous laughter and popularity despite the great censorship. The reason being, they were done with taste and class by some of the greatest talent assembled in comedy history. Sorry pal, but it was in a fact a classier era then.

  • Now that's how to roast somebody! People today have no clue what subtlety or real humor is.

  • Bette can laugh?!?? YEP. When its the beloved Vincent Price. CLASS ACT.

  • Omg that's hilarious!

  • I like the brutal roasts of today but also am a huge fan of these classier old ones..

this is a fabulous clip, Vincent Price is brilliant

  • The good ole days when you could be funny without resorting to tasteless swearing and vulgar language. Our comedians today are such trash.

  • HAHA VINCENT PRICE RULES!!!

  • That's how you measure a great star; by her knockers.

Words of wisdom, Vinnie... words of wisdom... *lol*

  • Vincent is very funny !

  • OMG! This is hillarious! Bette's laughing her head off haha. OMG the roasts are so rubbish now compared to these <3

  • LOL "why you dirty bleep!, you can take your bleeping money and shove it..." ROTFL!

  • Hahaha! This was hilarious. You can tell Bette's loving it just as much as Vincent. Pure comedy ^_^

  • @AntinousIsGod1 Yeah - fun to see how she's laughing her vits out.

  • It's good to see Vincent Price in a comedic light, as he always scared me growing up

  • roasts are much better now this barely translates until he gets to the swearing of their time.

  • @DavidWicked what are u saying u moronic fool

  • Vincent Price should have done comedy not terror, did he ever do a comedy.

  • @contact1araya In 1950 Champagne for Caesar with Ronald Colman & Celeste Holm. He's hilarious.

  • @contact1araya Comedy of Terrors!!! :-) Actually he is in a few great comedies. 'The Raven' is a good Comedy-Fantasy family film, Dr Phibes is a great film series of dark humour (and a bit of romance) and 'Theatre of Blood' is a Shakespeare fans delight as far as comedy is concerned. :-)

  • so this is the old Comedy Central Roast lol

  • and in the virgin queen.... she gave up her hobby! Ha i almost fell out of my chair laughing!!! It's good to such such an amazing actor like Vincent Price to be so different and laid back ... and laughing!!! He's my favorite actor!!!

    R.I.P Vincent Price

  • @Ozzrya91

anyone can make a fart or sex joke and be funny. fewer can actually craft an indirect jab, or god forbid, actually set up a joke that you have to think for a second to get. if you don't like to use your brain at all, that's your loss.

  • A true legend and a gentleman. There are lots of gems on YouTube.

He never took himself seriously and said it was important to be able to laugh at yourself.

I agree with the comments below: the comedy roasts of nowadays are just crude and not particularly funny. It is not particularly difficult to write gags full of sex references and the f-word. The Dean Martin roasts are pure class. A good gem is Peter Falk (as Columbo) on the roast of Frank Sinatra

  • vincent price is the best ! ! ! ! !

  • What's with all of the "Children of the Damned" hair styles?

  • STCaris just because a few shows are trashy (which have been taken off the air btw) doesn't mean the station itself is trashy!!!!!

  • Comedy Central needs to be taken off the air. Their shows are insulting, degrading and just plain trash.

  • um, who was that gorgious blond?

  • Man, that Vincent Price was one funny guy. Just now I saw "House on Haunted Hill". I had no idea he could be this funny. I didn't know much about him. Now that's a Hollywood legend.

  • Price is absolutely hysterical! Pure comedic genius... nothing vulgar, yet provocative. Nothing demeaning, yet teasing. Fantastic! Thanks for posting.

  • Vincent Price,,,,Bette Davis the last of the Great ones ughhhh, now we are stuck with well u know

  • This roast has lass and taste.

  • Just goes to show that you don't have to use foul language to be funny. Subtle and suggestive humor is so much funnier. Class act and very funny! Thanks for posting this!

  • Man, I was sitting there the whole time with my mouth open saying,

    "VINCENT LEONARD PRICE THE SECOND!!!!"

  • For all the wonderful creepy horror films you made that were part of my youth, - for the Vincent Price rap in the middle of MJ's Thriller that was the best part of that record, - & for being a lovely human being who never took himself too seriously.. Thank you Vincent, for the memories & the laughter.. May flights of angels sing you to your rest.

  • these were the days when humour did not rely on expletives and crude remarks to get a laugh.vincent was a true comedian, this is one of the funniest things i have ever seen.

  • @marcuslaughton - man, you got that right!!! What passes for "talent or humor" today is vile & UNIMAGINATIVE trash. This gentleman is of an era when people had class. 7:42 pm April 25 2010

  • Vincent was also the original Ghost Host for Phantom Manor, the version of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Paris. You can find it on Youtube.

  • LOVE IT!

  • vincent had the strangest voice ever :D

  • @Blackjesus3 some of that is from smoking, but if you listen to him early on it was different, but still vinny

  • @Dravenswraith ohhhh

  • Lol i have to say that was one of the best roasts i've ever seen someone do.

  • @InformationMinister i agree, hilarious. "she wasnt naked, she wasnt black, she didnt even know kung foo"

" sexual freedom in denmark" what a funny guy.

  • Great personality!

    LUV Vincent Price!XD

  • Classic!

  • listen very closly at 2:59 (Muhahahahaha!)

  • back when there were real stars. Who's left now?

  • Sir Christopher lee!

  • Sir Vincent! The master!

  • Magnificent humour, tastefully and sharply done...

  • Sad that all the good actors and actresses are almost gone, leaving this useless, no talent SHIT behind that has the nerve to call themselves actors and actresses.

  • @islamsucksallah and so say all of us!!

  • Vincent is the greatest!....

  • Stars these days take themselves far too seriously.

  • What year is this from? Anyone know?

  • According to IMDB, it aired on Oct 18 1973.

  • Thankss :)

  • I've heard Vincent Price say knockers. I can die now.

  • Vincent is so amazing. <3

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing, amazing guy.:)

He can be so elegantly rude, noone beats him at this:)

  • I love Vincent he had a great sense of humour.

  • what a cool gentleman ....the ability to be a little ribald but still clean....a lost art...

  • That was a classic effort...

  • he's got a classy politeness

    R.I.P Vincent

  • Amazing talent......it really shows you how talented a person he was...being able to work a little risque'....but not dirty...and still be very funny.

  • Loved Vincent Price as Baka in The Ten Commandments. He always was a class act.

  • Ah, Vincent Price. He and Orson Welles were the noblemen of stardom!

  • 5 stars. An advice: watch the entire roast with Bette. It's fantastic.

  • OMG I LOVE VINCENT PRICE!!!!

  • The Abominable Dr Phibes \m/

  • that was a good movie...and it's sequel.

  • See! Mr. Price said funny things even a few sex jokes and never once said a swear word. take a note Comedy Central

  • I agree! Vincent price was a consumate professional and a gentleman to boot. he wouldnt need to resort to swearing, he had natural wit

  • @Azreal231916 I agree fully. I wasn't around during this period of fine actors as i was born in 75. But the more I look into that era, the more Gems I find. Todays actors rely too much on swear words for shock tactics. Thats just weak mans poetry in my book!!

  • @ozvirgo32 problem is we hear the f word so often now trussed up as comedy that it no longer shocks and is certainly not funny. it is boring as hell. true comedy is actually not that easy to write or perform. some of the best comedy writers and performers were quite serious in real life but they had a talent for creating humour out of the mundane.now THAT takes skill and intelligence, two attributes sadly lacking in modern day comedians.

  • @Azreal231916 Agreed, Dean Martin Roasts were all class AND funny without the F word and other comedy central trash. I won't watch that crap.

  • @Azreal231916 100% agreed. I dont mind curse words. My fave stand up is ricky gervais, chris rock and gilbert gottfried.. but some do seem to just see how many times they can say the F or c word in a min and hope for the best.. *cough* Andrew dice clay *cough*

  • Now THAT's the way to do a roast! I remember reading that Edith Head had a hard time getting Bette Davis to wear a bra.

  • Ahh dean martin, love that man

  • Classic!

  • I love Vincent! So classy! A legend forever! Roasts back then were actually classy, now days they just aren't the same :(

  • i agree

  • And how!

  • @supermankrypton1234

that's because they are sarcastic and referential. now, it's just poi9nting fingers and calling people swear words

  • @supermankrypton1234 I'm just glad they're trying to do roasts again. But yes, they could learn a bit from the past.

  • @supermankrypton1234 I'm just glad they're trying to do roasts again. But yes, they could learn a bit from the past. He skirts the line between "outrageous" and "understated" like a master.

  • Bette was awesome in What Ever Happened To Baby Jane. She shouldve won an Oscar for that movie

  • Where are people like Vincent Price these days?

  • They are all dead =[

  • A man of class. Forever a legend. RIP

  • Simply amazing! One of the greatest minds and personalities of his time.

  • everybody is smoking

  • Price rocked! Loved his voice.

  • hahaha that was hilarious!

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh This Made Me Laugh.

    Freaking GREAT.

  • i suspect that VP is the source of Jokers Voice in Dark Knight

  • maybe but he died in 1993 rip, lol

  • @strictpolicy

Well... do you really think that any actor dont work with tapes and other movies from the past... lol too

  • I LOVE VINCENT!!!

  • What humor! Vincent price is a horror actor AND a comedian?!

  • Pretty odd, but Eddie Murphy did it too!

  • This show is just great. I would love to own it on DVD. Don't worry i know where to get it. Vincent Price is a legend.

  • Awesome

  • This a clinic on how to do a roast. Today's roasts are two tier: 1. a cross between Cartman from "South Park" and a pedophile with Turrets syndrome, or 2. a cross between guests who know next to nothing about the roastee and a pedophile with Turrets syndrome--truly sad. Price is priceless.

  • The roasters aren't funny either.

  • @sargepup are you kidding? Today all they do is use stupid cheap shots and add the word 'fuck' a couple of times. That's not great humor. Vincent Price was amazing!

  • Good to see Vincent and Bette together having a laugh. Its a pity she was such a difficult Bitch when they next worked together on that beautiful and neglected masterpiece " The Whales of August".

  • hyserical!

  • OMG was this soooooo funny lol. Thanks for posting this!

  • Look into it b ut Vincent Price didnt make all that many horro movies at all but thats what hes remembererd for

  • I laughed out loud several times. Damn do I miss these gems. Vincent, Bette, Dean, Henry, Howard, Nipsey....They don't come like these guys anymore.

    Thanks for the upload!

  • I found him! I found superman! Great acting, art expert, chef, and now he's funny too. I wonder what he looks like when he's flying? :D Thank you for sharing!

  • Hey man..just to let you know as a fellow fan..Vincent Price was quite an art collecter and his collection was appraised in the hundreds of millions when he died..peace atcha buddy...

  • wow ive never seen price like that that was funny

  • Vincent you were brilliant!! What a star

  • I never realized how funny he was? I really enjoyed this! Thank You!

  • I'm an admitted traitor to my own generation because I feel there is nobody recent that comes within a 1000 miles of Bette Davis.

  • Meryl Streep?

  • She gave up her hobby! Rofl Loved both Vincent and Bette

  • Its is totally GREAT ! Thank you so much !

  • Absolutely outstanding! Hilarious stuff. Thank you so much for posting this - here in the UK we never got to see a lot of Vinnie's stuff in the US.

  • LOL excellant stuff! Vincent Price, what can you say about him, well, "indescribley brillant" springs to mind!

  • Very Nice!

  • owow that was hysterical!
