  • Hi Great informative video,,,

    46Rh/Re 4X4 dodge 1500....

Do you recommend adding a fifth disc set in the clutch pack to increase preformance?

If so do I have to reduce the thickness of the pressure plate to accomodate this...?

What are the end play numbers recommended on the shafts?

Should I check these numbers before disassembly?

    Thanks,,,

  • Awesome video. hope you all diy's remember to soak all fibers in tranny fluid for 30 min before installing.

  • you dude call it pickme up man

  • Nice job.

  • awesome video. where is your shop located? i have an 02 ram2500 that has factory tranny #3 (truck has 200k miles,tranny...@110k on tranny) and it shifts like crap, shudders into o.d.,and has probs between 1st&2nd shift. wants to drop back into 1st when starting on an incline, but shifts fairly smooth going down hill. could this be bad torque converter and clutches????

  • thank you for making a decent video showing some basics. I just built my first 46rh with 47 rear drum. It was pretty simple til i got ready to install the overdrive unit and it would slide all the way on. Then I saw your video and noticed you using a old shaft to align before u release the spring pressure. Well I dont have a old shaft to use so any suggestions. Its all I'm down to then built on transfer case and install crossing my fingers it all works.

  • yes.the output shaft can be used. Some guys build the overdrive unit first using output shaft.Put together with output shaft in od unit.Bolt od unit to transmissions empty case.Build the unit from there good luck Peter Wilson

  • Hey man great video.

Is it possible to dismantel and reassemble without alignment tool???

  • So what would cause my 46re to shudder when it shifts from 3rd to overdrive (4th). It does shudder the whole time only when it shifts to that gear. If i let off the gas a little before it shift's to that gear it wont shudder, but if im giving it medium throttle or higher thats when it shudders, and it get louder the higher the throttle is.

  • is some of this caused by excessive heat or not doing proper maintenance?

  • @mstep3 heat is caused from clutches sliping under heavy loads

  • I'm doing mine myself, and watching your video helped for the removal of the last clutches. But im going with red eagle alto clutches. Any more tips and torque specs?
