Nature is also Hurricane Irene, as well as nice deer, so I really am fine with our continuing urbanisation. Country living values conflict with ecological ones, I find.

I seriously thought this must be a commercial, considering that they seem to have shut a road off, done a reasonable amount of set dressing, got extras and some effects. Really surprised it's an independent short, even from a Baden-Württemberg grad and would love to know how it was funded.

It was shot in Frankfurt, Germany on Kaiser Street and Neue Mainzer Street. It was shot with support from the magistrate of the City of Frankfurt and with financial support of local businesses in Frankfurt (Frankfurter Sparkasse, Five Elements Hostel, etc)

This video is to ensure to the normal human beings that, the kid in the beginning is aother human being which the officer helps. That means that man cares more about man and not the environment around him. This video is meant to show you how barbaric and greedy man can be, because the deer (nature) told the officer that she missed him and to prove that he didn't miss her, she took the ultimate sacrafice to show him exactly how selfish man really is. The officer just stood by and let it happen.

@PLOFKOMST I can't say I have understood the film well, especially the first part, but my interpretation is broadly in agreement with yours. I think the deer wanted to illustrate the consequences of inaction—although the officer tried to help the boy and told him to "stay off the streets", he did no such thing for the deer: he just stood there, admiring the beauty of the creature which unexpectedly invaded his urban life while ignoring its obviously precarious position and impending death.

Our environment is build inside nature's, but we seem to forget this because we focus too much on our own environmental problems (poverty, crime, traffic jams, etc). We are blindfolded by our own environment that we seem to forget we are part of something bigger; nature. The cab killing the deer = somebody driving blindfolded.

That said, you make a very interesting point about the boy, and your interpretation of the film makes much more sense than the other possibilities I had considered. The first half initially confused me, to the extent that I thought the child had transformed into the deer, but I soon realised how little sense this made.
