I was wondering if you had any ideas of how to acheive the same sound on a guitar? any particular tuning? also this song is great, i especially like how the guitar and melody counterpoint each other in the last verse
I don't know how you could get a guitar to sound like this since the bajo sexto strings are so much heavier, but you could sure tune the guitar to some open tuning like dgdggd to be able to play the tune without having to throw chords in there...
There's nothing better than sap season. I think I'll have my bajo out during our boil in Northern Michigan this year.

It's a bajo sexto I rigged up for playing this kind of song. I think the tuning is approximately (top to bottom) gg cc GG ebEb bbBb cC
