@ElectricHare That is a German Military cross from World War 2. It's the standard marking on the tanks, armored personnel carriers, and transport trucks at the time. I just thought it looked awesome with the urban camo paint on the battery box. Yeah, total Stalingrad-style...lol
Hells yeah! I have a Ruckus crew here in Denver and we go snow Ruckin all the time. Hell I have personaly ridden when it has been -8F with around 8" of fresh powder on the ground. Lowering the pressure in the back tire to around 10psi seems to do wonders. I have the front around 6-8 and the works pretty well. Great video!
Hahahhah!! "it's a nice day", damn i feel cold just by watching the video with all that snow! love the Ruckus though! awesome quality bike! kudos to the Japanese!!!
I bet those thick tyers help alot, I was down at the bike shop today and sat on one, being the only 50cc bike they had, thats all I can get till I'm 17, but I think it seems more stable than other 50cc bikes, especcialy 'cause of those tyers, and seeing as i'm in england where its almsot always raining, and winters around the corner it'd be good. the only thing is I thought it was alot lower than other bikes, and theres not much storage space on it.
Wow, that thing is great in the snow! I'm looking to get a Ruckus and was wondering how it would be in the snow even just for fun. Thanks for answering my question, ha!
A scooter in snow in genius. If you get stuck, just lift it up and drag it to the plowed road. Also, having almost all the weight (rider, engine) over the rear wheel does wonders for traction... Now all you need is some skis to wear so you can really in the corners!
Thanks for a quick reply. :) I found out here you do need a license to ride legal. But im wondering does the ruckus have enough ummph to handle traffic? Im sure i read somewhere its top speed is 65km but can it get up to speed fast enough in traffic? thanks.
It all really depends. Your weight will be a big factor. Obviously the lighter you are, the quicker it will be. Terrain is also a concern. If it's relatively flat where you live you shouldn't have many problems, but she does slow down considerably up hills. If you live in a metro area with lots of stop and go, it does just fine. I wouldn't think twice about getting on e in the city (other than it getting stolen). I've gotten mine up to 35mph on flat straights, and 42 downhill. I weigh234
haha cool we are the same size. So in traffic if there are cars behind me at a red light ill have enough get up and go not to piss them off? also thanks for your quick responses.
That will depend on how much you weigh. Check out totalruckus dot kom for the answer to that and any other question you may have. Just make sure you use the search function before you start a new thread cause some of the old timers will light you up. Try searching for "roller weights" Good luck!
Thanks man! As far as tips go; I got my motorcycle license just last June, and when my Ninja came in I had a friend take me 80 miles to the dealer and I rode it home. That was the first time I had ridden a motorcycle in traffic, and only my second time on a bike, the first being the two days during the MSF course. I would recommend the MSF course, even though you may not need a motorcycle license for the Ruckus in your state (I do), it will teach you some good stuff which will make riding
a scooter much easier. Riding a scooter is much easier to begin with, when comparing it with a motorcycle, but still, riding around in traffic can be spooky, but exhilarating as well. I enjoy it.
As far as riding in winter; definitely feel out your machine before you go all out. I took a few days riding around testing the limits of the Ruck and seeing how it reacted to different road surfaces before rolling wide open. Thanks for watching, and good luck bro!
Nice vid! You are one brave soul. BTW, I noticed you have a Honda Element too. Can you fit the Rike Bike in the back of the element without removing any seats?
No problem. Always wanted to be a bike messenger in a big city. Rode bike a few times in DT Chicago and it was VERY exhilarating (pedal bike, I mean).
Oh, and if you're careful with throttle modulation fishtailing is not a concern, and it's remarkably stable in the straights. As you can see, once I leave the Pizza parking lot, I'm buzzing along at about 35 no problem...
Isn't it dangerous do drive 2 wheel vehicles on snow/ice ?

Nothing other than where they are marketed. Ruckus in America and Zoomer in Europe and Japan I believe.

Whoa I was not expecting a Ruckus to perform well in the snow but it doesn't look so bad, just slippery. I want one!

I would rate it an 8, and that's because of corners. I weigh about 240, so that gives me more traction on the rear tire.
For comparison's sake, I also have an 08' Ninja 250 that I wouldn't dare ride in the snow.
The only thing that'll get you is the windchill.
bowlingballhead 3 years ago
I commend you, sir.
I've gone on a few short rides on my Ruckus this winter, but only when it was below zero... today would've been a great day for a ride.
