Beautiful camera! Especially with a DOF adapter! I find its manual focusing fine; never had a problem. I also modded it with a DXA-4P so I can plug in pro XLR mics. And it shoots in 24p! Awesome cam! Very happy :)

my only beef with this cam is that it doesn't have a time lapse feature and slow motion function . sometimes i want to do a sunset time lapse and it would be nice to do that. also, maybe i want to record my nephew's tennis serve and play it back in slow motion to allow him to see his form/motion

you could upload it to your computer, than put it in an editing program, such as Windows Movie Maker, and slow down the clip.

im confused,, i love this camcorder and am planning on buying it... what i find unusual is, if its capable of recording at full hd resolution(1080p) why doesn't it have an hdmi output to view things at full hd resolution(1080p).. all it has is component out which only goes up to 720p.. how do i make videos or dvds or even watch it on my hd tv in true HD(1080p)???

It does have a HDMI out. It's a mini HDMI on the camera, so you have to get a cable for it. I got this camera a week ago, it all I can say is Wow!
