Is the tailnumber 57 or 58NA? Airnow (business air) in Vermont used to operate these two. One of them had the word "groan" painted on one nacelle and "moan" painted on the other. Pretty cool. They used to back up fedex in EWR at christmas. Carry rolls of carpet, baby chickens, you name it. I was a lowly dispatcher..even lower.."flight follower" Swept those wings free of snow more than once for a late night charter. When my shift was over on saturday morning, I'd go out and sit in them
My Grandfather flew these and the P-51 against the Japanese. He flew the C-47 over the hump alot into Burma and China. i loved hearing the stories and photos he would show me. RIP Grandpa.
Absolutely stunning. The best plane to ever grace the skies. The engines are music to my ears and always brings tears to my eyes. Thanks so much for a great video.
My uncle witnessed a tall U.S. Army captain who died getting chopped up by one of those in Vietnam. Needless to say, that prop didn't skip a beat as it tore him to pieces.
My dad was a Crew Chief on a C-47 out of Maxwell AFB Montgomery, Al dring the 50's and 60's and his stories are part of my life. Thanks for sharing the comment about your Dad. God Bless!

That one dude casually walks by that spinning propeller

The camera zoom compresses the apparent distance - he was about 20 feet in front of the aircraft.
