once you start changing parts you have to make sure to get the weapon 922r compliant.the law states that when you change any parts on the list that you can then have no more than 10 imported parts from the list still in the weapon.
@Shellshock1918 To be percise, it started life destined to see service in the Russian military, untill Izhmash plucked it out and butchered it to meet requirements for export.
@Shellshock1918 They are made off the same exact machinery as the Russian military AK's, but instead of adding a pistol grip and full auto trigger group, they are butchered and sent to the U.S.. Apart from the identification ring inside the chamber, it is exactly the same in regards to the parts they have in common.
Yes but they aren't military AKs converted to civilian use. They are built from the ground up to be commercial, just with a military (minus cut outs for full auto hardware) receiver.
@Shellshock1918 I may have misspoken, I did not mean they where miltiary AK's that where then converted, what i was trying to say is that the Izhmash would be fully comftroble adding an auto trigger group and pistol grip to their Saigas and giving them to Russian soldiers, because it would then be the same exact thing. Just bragging about how wonderfull i think these AK's are. Costs less, higher accuracy, military grade, coming from a company that has made rifles for Russia since 1807.
Now the question I have is about the handguards. What kind are they, where'd you buy them from, and what was required to install them? Are the AK or Saiga handguards?
thats kool i didt even realize these arsenal AKs had the muzzle brakes that makes it even better. would u say its an good buy this one for around $600?
Good job on restoring this rifle to its proper configuration, bonus points for not half assing it and leaving the handguards and front end the way they were from the factory.

Are you using standard AK-47 magazines? How could I get a Saiga accept AK mags?
TheMangione91 4 months ago

Awesome vid, and very good recoil control !!!
BrokenTengu99 2 years ago
The muzzle brake works very well. It isn't the cheap Tapco 74 brake, it is a US made, 7.62 version of the '74 brake.
Shellshock1918 2 years ago
What would you compair the recoil to ? I know 7.62 kicks lke a mule, but with that brake on, would you say down to "5.56 type" of felt recoil ?
BrokenTengu99 2 years ago
@BrokenTengu99
Not really 5.56 but close to it.
Shellshock1918 2 years ago
But able to double-tap and preform follow-up shots without a problem ?
BrokenTengu99 2 years ago
@BrokenTengu99
Yea double taps are a lot better.
