  • librophile is conveniently wording and purposely misleading people like Anthony Weiner does. It's smart but deceptive. Classic manipulation by weiner and the democrats.

  • @BrcCmplfan

He didn't even fuck up badly, it's just that shit gets blown WAY out of proportion in the news.

  • UNDERWEAR MODEL. STALKER

  • this guy really underestimates the power of Incentives, that is his biggest problem

  • @Mezey5 perhaps you can explain these incentives for all of us, rather than making random no nothing statements you obtained from Republican part propaganda machines.

  • Anthony Weiner: 'Hey, ObamaCare is so awesome, um, how about you give an ObamaCare waiver for … New York City?'

This weiner is a useful idiot.

  • @bosszeroboss

Retard. He cited the waiver in defense of the health care bill, showing its flexibility and how it is not "being rammed down American throats". Go watch some more Faux news and lose your last brain cell.

  • WEINER for President!

  • haha weiner

  • Weiner he has a super jewish name but hes kinda cute and has a lot of spunk and intelligence.

  • Is Anthony Weiner the ballsiest democrat ever?

  • Let this moron pay fer it I dont want it Iwont have it aand I wont pay for someone elses unless it is social sec .Fine me see if you get a dime .Put me in prison oh that will show me huh. I am an American I dont do well being told what to do and I could give a shit care less what other country's think of me .While I am at it get you lib dem asses out of my gasoline .

  • @truckdawg43 Spoken like a true uneducated hill billy. You are not the future, you are the past and no one should care what you think.

  • @KingObould No dont listen to me ,if you dont mind being led around by some bureaucrat ,dont listen to me if you dont mind your great grand children paying our bills ,dont listen if you dont mind your rights being stripped ,dont listen if you are a mind numb zombie who has to be told what is best for you

  • @truckdawg43 don't worry, I won't.

  • @KingObould That is what pisses me off you don't worry .You dont think for your self or think of your children .I have been on this planet 45 yrs .I have no children because I wouldn't want to leave them in the hands of some Gov that wants brain adelpated nimrods .I graduated high school I am a blue collar and damn proud of it ,I refuse to have some socialist program foisted on me .If I cant do for myself then I do without .That also goes for these damn Unions I have seen too much to ever join

  • @truckdawg43 YOU DONT PAY THEN YOU GET NO CARE, JUST DIE IF YOU DONT BRING CASH TO THE EMERGENY ROOM,IF YOUR AWAKE, IF NOT YOUR DEAD BEAT ASS WILL BE JUST THAT,DEAD!

  • @agent1up I wont have to worry about it because the courts are proving my point .ITS UNCONSTITUTIONAL gov cannot make us buy goods or services ,and more important they cannot make me pay for your or anybody else's insurance .Buy yer own ! Access to ins is your right not everybody paying for yours or mine .So get some ins dont get ins I dont give a damn.I was paying for mine till I lost my job to your Lib dem Idols policy's and want for more taxes

  • @truckdawg43 then all dead beats, like yourself, should just die if you need care...thats ok with me, since a have the cadillac plan myself..

  • @agent1up Oh and you know me from Adam. If you have the Cad plan why do you need me to pay for yours ?You sound like the deadbeat .Never met a dem that could pay for their own anyway ,and they call repubs greedy. Well agent 1up the backside you pay for your and I will pay for mine .

  • @truckdawg43 yeah whatever......

  • @agent1up Yeah whatever ? what are you some 15 year old Calif beach zombie. Ya got me with that one .Call me a dead beat tell me I should die then you give yeah whatever .Prove your position try to make me believe you .Debate and discuss .I gave you provable points prove your points .Use your head for something other than a cork for your neck .The only people we should pay ins for is the truly infirmed ,children to 18 whose parents are to lazy ,and our soldiers we owe them for their service

  • @truckdawg43 i said , if you dont have insurance and dont want to pay for it,then yes you should die if you need medical attention..as a responsible citizen, i'm tired of paying for the uninsured through higher premiums..spread the cost around evenly..do i think people should die for not having the means to afford insurance in the private markets? NO! ..there's ways to get these people covered without breaking the bank and hopefully lowering the rates for the responsible fortunate ones...

  • @truckdawg43 you can start by paying for wars before you start bombing..stop the fraud committed by a lot of dr's that run unnecessary test...give end of life counselling so that everyone understands that "death" is a part of life and to stop spending hundreds of thousands to get a extra 5 days of life connected to some tube..

  • @agent1upYES I agree along with tort reform ,unchecked Government spending ,making sure that the people who are using our medical facility's are US citizens .If not patch them up and send them home .Just what we have covered here would pay for covering those children and the seniors alone ,and those are our biggest concerns.Yes I am including the infirmed in there

  • @truckdawg43 tort reform is in 5 states and there are no noticable decreases in premiums. companies just pocketed the savings.

:/ if tort reform actually worked, i'd be in favour of it.

  • @lloydmauler Tort reform with a threat of extreme regulation .Not to add any more gov depts just rearrange it and refocus .Allow across state line buying .Say my heath ins is in NYC but I find it cheaper in Calif I can or my company can buy it .I can with my auto ins now I have liability for about 40 bucks with unins hell State farm cant even best that

  • YEs this whining little jewish boy has ALL the answers. NOONE has figured it out, he has it figured out..... what an annoying little man. I do agree that insurance companies do NOTHING to make you healtier.

u know why, cause they are NOT Doctors. MORON Its called CAPITALISM & a free market sytem .. if you want SOCIALISM, MOVE THE F**** TO CANADA. where the GOVT controls it all, they are doing such a great job with it too.. You will proably drop dead before you get your operation.

  • weiner for pres!!

  • I love that man!

  • The REPUBLICANS did have everything!!! and they did nothing!!! They could of passed all the things the dems are fighting for. Theyve passed more stuff in alil over a year and about to pass more things than the republicans did w the house senate presidency in 8 YEARS!!! people dont forget THAT THEY DID NOTHING and now they're hatin on the Dems bc their doing there damn job for em.. Repub's are starting to sound like anyother person who can't do a job and blames the world for them getting yanked

  • THIS GUY IS GREAT

    RUN HIM FOR PRES.

  • Clearly you missed the O'Reilly interview that ewxposed him for being a lying, question dodging sack of shit .

In other words, a perfect candidate for Democrats.

  • @dalmatian847 Just by saying O'Reilly u just told everyone how retarded you are. FOX is straight republican, they NEVER say anything good of democrats. Stay in ur fantasy world.

  • @pjce3 What fantasy world are you referring to? The one where Obama looks competent?

Take your ritalin and s.t.f.u with your weak ass reply.

  • why do people even support republicans?

anti change, anti green power, anti healtcare, anti science, anti evolution, anti gay marriage

pro global warming, pro coal and oil, pro jesus in the white house, pro creationism, they are hyprocrites who rather see obama fail then at the expense of the people.

seriously? who are supporting these dumbasses? they are againts everything a smart logical person is for. why are they even running our country?

  • The insurance CEOs love them

  • he should be OUR President

  • He's such a weiner.

  • Right, everyone knows the system is broken. And the politicians won't do a damn thing to fix it because too many of them are in the pockets of the insurance companies. Edward R. Murrow said it best when, in a somewhat different context, he said it wasn't really the fault of the politicians. We the People are the ones who put these corrupt politicians in office, who then end up representing They, the Corporations.

The fault, dear Brutus, is not with our stars, but with ourselves. ☺

  • Run for President. Do us all a favor.

  • This whole reform process is a total failure. We want nothing short of Single Payer. All will soon see that Obama and the other democrats are nothing but corporatists.

  • look dem wit, we are all aware of the need for reform, but we as americans need to be informed or the idiocy in this bill..if you care about freedom and the constitution you need to take another look at what you have as opposed to what you and we will lose if this bill is passed, and btw, one payer is NOT the solution, SMALLER GOV.. TORT REFORM, MED. PRICE REFORM, CHANGING LAWS TO ALLOW BUYING STATE TO STATE, AND MUCH MORE, BUT ALLOWING GOV. TO TAKE OVER IS NOT THE ANSWER!!!!

  • your comment didn't come through suaveone, but i don't care. It's useless to talk to you because you're unreasonable which is par for the course of right wingers. I provide valid points for my position, and all you do is froth at the mouth and make no valid points at all, you just spew republican talking points over and over and over it's tiring. Fuck off, don't bother responding because you are so lost and a twit in the highest degree, I've blocked you. Go hate elsewhere!

  • @xyrxes1 VERY WELL SAID(read ur whole reply) I'm cuban and also have witnessed the other health systems the world can offer, and totally agree with you. But just one more thing to add, Americans are VERY Uneducated!!! So much that they believe what tv news channel say 100%, if u ask 90% of all the republicans, with luck 10% has gone to another country and ACTUALLY WATCHED how other systems work, only if they do, they will understand our point, till then, we are honestly, wasting our words.

  • insurance companies deny claims 1/3 of the time that is rationing

  • REPUBLICANS opposed a Government-run PUBLIC HEALTH CARE. They said that it wouldnt work.

Democrat ANTHONY WEINER (NY) took the Republicans at their words & introduced a bill to dismantle MEDICARE & VA Government-run PUBLIC HEALTH CARE plans.

He DOUBLE DARED all Republicans to VOTE YES on his bill & prove to the AMERICAN PEOPLE that they truly believe---that Government-run PUBLIC HEALTH CARE plans dont work

IT WAS PUT UP or SHUT TF UP !!

NOT A SINGLE REPUBLICAN VOTED YES ON THAT BILL

  • Do you mean the Rep. Weiner made a bill to get rid of the entire gov. medicare. Meaning Senior Citizens would have to pay health bills by themselves? Just to prove a point. GODDAMN!

  • He challenged the RatpubliKKKons at their own game ... and he won.

  • Recent NATIONAL POLLS show that 86% of PRO-LIFE ACTIVISTS overwhelmingly SUPPORT President Obama HEALTH CARE REFORM & PUBLIC OPTION

Because it will NOT pay for abortions and will be a SURE WAY to provide GUARANTEED & AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE for the MOTHER and her BABY.

Who can possibly argue with this??

I think it makes a whole lot of sense.

  • speak the truth, tony

any way you slice it, the insurance companies will do less than a public option will. no more of this pre-existing condition bullshit.

  • Consumers ultimately brought the problem on themselves. They put too much faith in health insurance to pay for EVERYTHING under the sun, rather than save it for ACTUAL emergencies. I mean, NO OTHER kind of insurance does this! So why should health insurance be any different? If consumers had to pay more out of pocket, they'd have an incentive to shop around, and costs would plummet more. If insurance companies could sell across state lines, we would have REAL competition. HSAs, anyone?

  • Canada and Britain deny coverage, treatments and pills of all kinds to patients! I'm sure there will be far from a 100% coverage rate for all people who go into the public plan if it's enacted. Even Medicare, which is touted as incredibly great, sometimes does deny claims.

The key is to stop treating insurance as a handout. We spend insurance for too many routine and regular treatments, rather than catastrophic care. Then we wonder why consumers have no say in the market.

  • I'll have you know that Singapore, which even the WHO ranked 6th in terms of quality and affordability, has a very much private system of universal healthcare where Singaporeans get their own personal savings accounts to pay for routine expenses, so they don't have to file a claim everytime they see a doctor or get medication.

  • Ok you're American and live in that system of healthcare. I'm Canadian and live in mine. Can you please explain to me what coverage or treatments my system denies me? since you're obviously an expert on the subject of our system and i'm just a Canadian citizen who has used this system my whole life, what do I know? as far as pills go it shows your misinformation objective. Healthcare does not give out free pills. Our employer coverage subsidizes those. So start your research and disprove me.

  • are you saying no one stands in line there for healthcare? are you saying no one is denied treatment?? are you saying your taxes are beyond belief?? are you saying no one comes to the us for state of the art treatment as opposed to your status quo???...tell it to the marines pal..as someone familiar with your style of health care YOU can keep the change!!!it obvious you are a dem wit with another agenda, one by the way we as americans do not need!!!

  • @ suaveone

Now for the obvious answers to your ignorance. Yes for minor issues we wait in line, major ones (cancer treatment, heart problems ect) we're in right now! no one in Canada is denied treatment ever, it's not in our system to deny insurance because our insurance covers every procedure no questions, no pre-exsisting issues, nodda!

sure some canadians will go to the states for top notch treatment if they can afford it but how about the fact that there are only a few dozen hospitals......

  • (mayo clinics) in the USA that actually do provide top notch care, the rest are mediocre at best. You for example if were hospitalized would most likely be placed in your citys generic hospital. And our income taxes are actually very close to yours because the u.s military spending is WAY more than our yearly gdp lol so per individual we are actually much better off. Case in point Canada was the only country in the G8 that didn't get royaly fucked during the resession and would you look at this....

  • .our dollar is about to pass the u.s again as the leading g8 currency so your points are moot and unfounded because you simply are a selfish pig that lives in a bubble and spews hate to anything unfarmiliar than your own surrowndings. You should look in nature, species that behave selfishly or even past tribes of human beings that have not co-operated and helped eachother ALL....DIE.....OFF. XD

  • @xyrxes1 Dont worry us sane ones know we americans are getting rammed in the ass by republicans and insurance companys.Dont mind the FOX news robots, They take anything FOX news says as gospel.

  • Fuck yeah!!!! TONY WEINER FTW!!!!

  • We need a Public Option Plan. Weiner is 100% right. I wish there were more like him in Washington.

Anyone who is still confused about health care reform should visit my profile. I have lost of information there as well as ways in which you can get more involved. I promise you will not find any scare tactics there.. just the facts.

  • SINGLE-PAYER or PUBLIC OPTION covering the AMERICAN PEOPLE is not a GOVERNMENT TAKE-OVER.

It is an AMERICAN PEOPLE TAKE-OVER of their Health Care.

PAID FOR BY: We the AMERICAN PEOPLE

TO SERVICE: We the AMERICAN PEOPLE

Congress needs to remove the AGE-65-RESTRICTION for Medicare.

  • We need Healthcare not CORPORATE WELFARE !!

GREEDY predatory Insurance CEOs took our Hospitals & turned them into their PROFIT CENTERS.

These Heartless INSURANCE VULTURES never gave a damn about our Democracy, about your life or the lives & health of your fellow Americans !!

These GREEDY LEECHES sucking the life blood out of Americans are KILLING thousands each year.

They refuse to pay claims. They cancel policies and rake in BILLION$ in record profits.

    WE NEED A PUBLIC OPTION

  • And how do you know the so-called public option won't do much the same thing? Of course, since they're the gov't, they won't have to care about profit, but I'm sure there'll be a few bureaucrats here and there who WILL think like insurance execs and say "Well, this treatment will cost us too much. We won't cover it." You guys on the Left put WAYY too much trust in government. Just because a program sounds good, looks good and is intended for the lower classes doesn't mean it's totally benign.

  • There cannot be LIFE, LIBERTY & HAPPINESS without HEALTHCARE.

TRUE PATRIOTS SUPPORT A PUBLIC OPTION !!

United Healthcare CEO Stephen Hemsley 2008 salary = $13.2 MIL (*)

Has $74.2 MIL in Stock options

CIGNA CEO Edward Hanway 2008 salary = $12.2 MIL (*)

Has $82.8 MIL in Stock options

Humana CEO Michael McCallister 2008 salary = $10.3 MIL (*)

Has $60.7 MIL in Stock options

    (*) MILLION$ IN BONU$E$ NOT INCLUDED !!

They make MORE IN ONE YEAR than a Middle Class in 65 years !!

  • Under their RESCISSION CLAUSE, Insurance Companies have at their disposal 2,0000 reasons to AVOID PAYING A CLAIM & cancel the policy

GOOGLE: Health Insurance Rescission Spells Trouble for Consumers

I've never heard of any PUBLIC PLAN having to pay $600 MILLIONS in fines for defrauding the consumers, by denying a legit but expensive claim.

President Obama & the Democratic Congress will force the Insurance Industry to be HONEST & ACCOUNTABLE.

  • to USAPatriot1966- hey dude, i did 6 years in the navy in the 70's and believe me, the biggest, fattest, most ignorant pieces of crap i've met before or since were some of the lifers that knew a free ride when they saw it. so your 20 years does not give you instant credibility. it's what you put down on the pad, and you are a troll.

  • is it just me or is the audio unintelligible on this video. isnt that always the case. some right -wing hacker or administrator has shit on the message, when its progressive?

  • Amen! If us poor folks don't get decent healthcare reform I should find me a Canadian Lover.

  • I agree that our health system is broken, mainly because 'free trade' is mistakenly believed to solve all problems.

Rep. Weiner is talking up a bill that gives Medicare for all. I just watched the video where he explains it on the morning show with joe and mika. Definitely worth watching and the idea is fantastic.

Think about it, Medicare runs at a 4% overhead, (priv. ins. 30%) The infrastructure is there, lower the age requirement gradually so the folks can be absorbed gradually.

  • They only care about profiteering. The whole notion perpetuated by some, that somehow increase in competition among private insurers will somehow.

If the insurance companies are in charge what they will do is to negotiate deals between themselves which makes them the most profit.

There is no competition here. Only profiteering.

  • The insurance companies dont care about quality or the right thing. They only care about profiteering. The whole notion perpetuated by some, that somehow increase in competition among private insurers will improve the current system is ridiculous.

When you leave the insurance companies in charge, they will negotiate and settle on a deal that profits all the companies.

Public option is a must to check these insurance frauds.

  • if the public option is defeated, then everything comes back to square one. the insurance companies stay in charge of every aspect of your health care, they tell you what to do, which treatment you deserve and which you dont. they will also tell you if you are eligible to be covered in the first place.

  • some of the posts amuse me to no end.

they are so sure that the govt does not care about the people that they would wholeheartedly support, of all things, the insurance companies.

it is beyond my understanding why anyone would support the profit seeking insurance industry over the govt.

  • hes right we all sit around and watch what the insurance companies are going to tell what to do, thats called socialism and they still make a 30% profit - thats why we need reform

  • So, the point being?

Is the congressman gonna give up his and get on board with the public?

  • He doesn't have to. He already has government health care.

Just like every other senator, congressman, and representative in Washington.

Remember that when you're paying your $14,000 dollar medical bill because you needed an appendix removed, or a gall bladder, or some other common surgery.

  • I am sure he won't give his up. He will not be on the board with the public.

  • Wow. You "get" nothing. For what it's worth, I went to that school over 20 years ago.

Ad hominem attacks do not address anything useful.

So, I will simply observe that obviously, whatever school you went to didn't teach you much about manners or spelling. Enjoy your VA health coverage (government health benefits? ) At least you have health benefits to complain about, if you are not completely satisfied with them. My family members who were in the military are fine with theirs.

  • Finally...how's it able to work in many non-socialist, capitalist nations? And without need for any scary "panels"/"getting into peoples accounts". Why is it so difficult to work properly in the USA? What alternative system would people suggest? For workers, for underinsured? Leaving out playing the race/immigrant/communist card? What is the solution? Leave it as it is?

  • NHS costs are ok unlike private sector.

Need car / home insurance, so why socialist (whatever that means after the fall of Berlin wall, etc) re health insurance?

Hopefully, the critics have a solution rather than comfort in the status quo. Still need Stan Brock and RAM.

  • The NHS isn't perfect but it works.

You register with a local GP (doctor). Some would say it was better pre Maggie Thatcher / pre-meddling and trying to privatise/set up NHS trusts, etc/ pre attempts to destroy it...still, if you have a problem, you get seen by your GP and he/she refers you to hospital.

  • thanks for the awsome video, tank god we have obama.

  • A system that's too expensive???

I would love for this talking head to explain to me how universal healthcare is going to cost less than what we have now.

  • Look at Canada. America has the most expensive plan in the world and is 37th in Healthcare rating.

  • Exactly. Countries like Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and others extremely wealthy Scandinavian and European nations ranks #1 in health care, education, standard of living, environment and so forth. So is socialism really horrendous?

  • That doesn't answer my question.

  • Well I'd assume that since you are raising questions, my response would direct you to do your research... but clearly that did not happen.

It's the distribution of taxes that allows one nation to have universal healthcare. For example, Canada has no military, therefore no military budget. Obviously taxes pay for military budgets. So since they have no military budget and we spend the most money on the military than any other country, the difference leaves Canada with a lot more to spend.

  • I hear what you're saying, but Canada doesn't have a huge target on its back like we do. They also only have 33 million people to cover, as opposed to 307 million people (2009 estimate).

So yes, drastically reducing the military budget would free up a lot of cash for a giant government run healthcare system, but that option is not only unfeasible but stupid as well.

This is an honest question: do you really trust the US Government to field and maintain an efficient healthcare system?

  • Hm, I can't say that we are that big of a target That's mainly driven by fear. That AND going and setting up bases in other countries is not necessarily reducing the bulls eye mark.

Also more people = more tax dollars and America holds some of the richest people in the world. I do really think that any government can maintain an efficient healthcare system. Besides, is this not a democracy? The people = the power.

  • Now when you ask: "do [I] really trust the US Government to field and maintain an efficient healthcare system?" I say yes. Why not? Canada is not the only country that's doing this. The UK and France do this as well. Cuba, although people may say with distaste that it's a Communist country, has a really effective plan as well.

I do trust that if people were rationale and ethical, we can have an effective healthcare system that allows other to pay a certain percentage for themselves and others

  • To respond to the second, the US Government can't even pass a budget without billions in earmarks and deficit spending. Appearantly, none of our Congressmen own a checkbook. We can't keep borrowing money from China.

The other problem with Government healthcare is rationed care. We see this in Canada and the UK most predominantly. They do this to cut costs because by the time they'll give you what you need, you will have either gotten better w/o the treatment/drug, or you'll be dead.

  • actually we ration care already 50 million americans with no healthcare thats rationing, now people have to go to the emergancy room

i'll tell you a story i had heart problems i was 22 years old so i went to the emergancy room and they said i had dependant edema, i didnt i had kidney disease. if i didnt have insurance i would be dead now. becuase i got it checked again. 1/3 of americans cant want i did. now im 24 with cobra and if i loss my insurance i die simple as that ok

  • False. 47 million PEOPLE in America don't have HEALTH INSURANCE. So don't frame it as no healthcare, that's patently false. 10 million of the above mentioned have no legal right to be here in the first place. If they show up to an ER treatment should only be given if life, limb or eyesight is threatened. Of the remaining 37 million, 17 million could easily afford insurance, but for whatever reason choose to go without (they make 50k+). So we're talking 20 mil or less.

  • Furthermore, of the now remaining 20 million AMERICANS, many of them qualify for medicaid but don't take advantage. Of those that are left how many people truly can't get healthcare. Many simply choose to save money and not get coverage. So move to Cuba if you think our healthcare is so bad. According to Castro and Moore's "documentary", they have great healthcare. Too bad the hospital he showed was a VIP facility not open to the public only dignitaries and commie filmmakers.

  • To respond to the first, we are a target because we support Israel, plus radical muslims like to pin all their crazy problems on us to try and rally more moderate muslims to their cause.

It's interesting that you mentioned rich people living here. The wealthiest people are the one creating most of the jobs in this country, and they don't have an unlimited supply of money to give. The people have the power, but most people aren't smart enough to see that the government is full of morons.

  • Well, I mentioned the wealthy people because they would contribute the largest percentage of taxes.

I know we are a target but not to degree people make it.

I agree with your last point. lol. Morons and very greedy people.

To the first point in your other comment, this would be paid by taxes meaning you won't be over pricing. It's like buying something with a credit card til you get your check (implying that it's earned not borrowed).

For your VERY last point, sources...?

  • the top 1% is already paying 40% of all tax revenue. the top 10% pays for 95% of everything...how much more should they pay? everything. illegal aliens, too. they represent about 10 million.

canada has an undercurrent that is moving them toward free market--they are having doctor lotterys now--know what that means?

if your number is called you get to see the doctor.

in england they are simply used to the system not working.

go online and look in their papers...it's someting to think about

  • you believe the us government can run the health care plans for 300,000,000 million people?

what is this assumption based on?

is it in the stellar manner they provide for our vets?

or the 60 plus trillion they owe in entitlements--i/e/ social security and medicare/medicade?

    stimulus, cash for klunkers...

you are entitled to your opinion, obviously, but you must be able to see that it's not rooted in reality?

you know this plan gives them access to your private bank account, right?

  • lol weiner

  • Glad to know you like weiner, but what does that

have to do with the discussion again? :)

  • idk ask yer mom rideo

  • Oh no everyone, dickridestrong says we don't

know what were talking about without providing

one single fact about why! We better be quiet

now! LOL The only one's that need homework

    are the un-(college)educated buttfucks that

think it's OK that the health care system makes

around 80 BILLION a year off the sick, while

leaving nearly 50 million of us (like my mom,

a 18 year state employee going bankrupt from costs with PRIVATE INSURANCE) are fucked

over with premiums, costs, and drug prices!

  • CommonSenseJoe is about the only one who knows what he's talking about. The rest of you need to do some homework and quit spouting off the dumb shit you read off some blog or your friend facebook page.

  • $194,000 is definitely not exorbitant considering what physicians do. Not to mention the 8 - 12 yrs of schooling and hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans. Most people in the health care field are under compensated for the work they do and helping others. If any field deserves to be well paid it is the medical field. Your local congressmen likely make more for doing jack shit than your primary care physician.

  • Yeah librophile you really are an idiot... First off nearly half of that will be taken with taxes: $600K - 40%= $360K. Then the physician must have malpractice ins which is over priced due to fuck tards taking advantage trying to sue for an easy buck. OB/GYN's will often pay $200K/yr for insurance. $360K - $50K = $310K. Then there are all the other expenses: office rent $36k/yr, office staff $70K/yr, supply/other $10K/yr = $194,000/yr.

  • LOL. So the fire departments, police departments, and medicaid are not paid for by our tax dollars, and not run by the state and federal governments.

Your a good liar, I have to give you that. Notice

you still can't give one good reason why not one Repuklican would vote to get rid of medicaid since it doesn't work. So this is

the Repuklican argument- "medicaid is a

government paid and run health care system

that doesn't work, but we won't even think

about getting rid of it!" LOL

  • How old are you, moron?

  • If you mean me, old enough to call out your

conservative bullshit anytime. Also old enough

to point for the third time, and after three responses from you, you still can't answer the

    question! Shock!

  • What question is that?

  • bigge525...... the fact that you even refer to the fire and police department shows that you have no clue what the fuck your talking about. Those are not revenue generating fields, unlike the US postal service and AmTrak which are complete failures.

  • So they screwed up medicaid for our seniors,

but not one of the spineless, shithead, repuklicans will vote to get rid of it!! LOL LOL

Oh, and morons, the overwhelming majority

of large cities in the U.S. DO NOT have a

volunteer fire department. The smallest towns

all over the U.S. do because they can't afford

it, and NONE of the police departments

    (SOCIAL PROGRAMS) are volunteers, idiots.

  • Police and Fire protection are not rights. Healthcare is not a right. You are the moron.

Medicare would be great if it paid for the services given to the patients. It DOES NOT. The costs are being shifted to others.

  • Correct. Police, fire and healthcare are social responsibilities (and I would add environmental responsibility as well) thus should be provided by society. Or at least attempted to provide.

  • We provide billions of dollars of healthcare like Medicare/Medicaid. Both systems are going broke. It is a flawed comparison to equate healthcare with fire and police protection.

  • Common Sense Joe, I am sure you have good common sense on many things, however you are seriously misinformed about the problems of Medicare & Medicaid. I don't blame you since the insurance companies, whose survival is dependent on scamming us, are doing their best to pull the wool over our eyes. Find out about the billions wasted on Medicare Plus middlemen. Medicare is far more efficient than private. Take a look at Weiner's charts and see what part of $2.2 trillion goes to profiteers.

  • If there is waste and abuse in Medicare, then these people should have fixed that long ago.

My information comes from those who work in the healthcare industry. Medicare reimburses a doctor or hospital only 80% of what they themselves say a procedure should cost. For example, if a doctor charges $100 for an office visit, and Medicare think he should only charge $80, they will reimburse him $64. Where do you think the doctor makes up the loss?

  • (NO)CommonSenseJoe ...

    20 office visits per day x $100.00 = $2,000

    $2,000 x 300 days = $600,000 per year !!

A bit excessive don't you think ??? Even half that amount is still ridiculous !!!

  • Obviously, you are not a doctor, which explains a lot. Have you ever heard of thing called "overhead"? Do you think the nurse who takes your medical history is working for FREE? How about the receptionist who schedules your appointment, files your insurance claim, and handles the bills? Let's not forget malpractice insurance, office space rent, and maintenance on equipment. Shall I go on, or do you see how stupid your comment is?

  • Please give us an itemized list of all these business expenses so that we may properly assess your comment.

You will realize yourself how excessive it really is.

    Thank you.

  • I gave you a partial list of the expenses. The point is you don't get to decide what is "excessive" because you don't know what you are talking about. You are an excellent example of why we should never put the government in charge of healthcare. They will tell everyone involved doctors, nurses, technicians, and providers how much they can make and what they can charge. There goes the quality out the window.

  • (NO) CommonSenseJoe ...

    Poor low intellect MORON !!

What the FUCK do you thing the Insurance Companies are doing right now ??

They control EVERYTHING and try to avoid paying ANYTHING by denying claims.

MAN DO I HATE STUPID PEOPLE !!

  • Most insurance companies pay their claims for the customers without a problem. There is no crisis in insurance. The problem is that the government does NOT pay for the care given to Medicare patients like they should.

  • see republicans are racist and if you are a republican you need to stop being one.

become a indy and leave these idiots

  • i'm a republican and i'm not racist, i don't know why people think that.

  • because your a republican and your party is all racists.

    you're judged by your associations.

  • so you think your better than me, and that i should not exist because cause of what side i'm on, your sounding like a Communist.

  • I am a communist.

  • lets follow his example

how would you vote for medicare or against it

    yeah! or nay

  • Let me see if I can help you out...Quality, Affordable Health care should be a fundamental right for citizens of this country! It should not be profit driven.

Owning a car is not a fundamental right. The government is already involved with fire protection...It's called the fire department. In 2007, over 60% of all bankruptcies were due to the inability to pay medical costs. I think government intervention is needed.

Next time think for a few more minutes...

  • Why should it be a right?

  • Do you think that fire and police protection is a right?

  • No, it is not a right. Maybe towns and small cities do not have police protection. They also have volunteer fire departments. None of which are provided by the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

The Federal government has no business taking over healthcare. They screwed it up with Medicare/Medicaid. Now they want to expand the problem and increase taxes to boot.

  • So, if your house catches fire, you think that the FD has to check to see if you paid them first before they can help you?

  • No, they fight fires at homes of people who never gave them a dime. This is not the same as healthcare. Healthcare is business.

  • You were elected to change this system. And what have you done? You haven't done s**t.

Instead, it's endless stupid ass talking points and blame the Other Side for everything. Would any Congresspeople give up their govt. universal care for what we have? Kucinich is the ONLY one who would do it. And look how Dean, Pelosi, Reid and the DNC Elite crucified him.

  • How did Saskatchewan accomplish single-payer non-profit public medical insurance in 1940s ?

    Tommy Douglas and Mouseland.

    Check it out.

  • yea he had a tough go but was persistent and it paid off, and now considered one of the most important Canadians

  • How come this guy isn't allowed on the major media or quoted regularly by the mainstream print media?

Oh, wait, his view, the majoritarian view can't be expressed in the mainstream.

  • Good point, its funny how everything you hear in the news is the problems and bumps of the plan, but you never hear people like this guy who say things straight and clean.

  • i smell onion.

  • I would have liked this fervor from President Obama. Am in favor of universal health coverage. Implore those of like mind to please CALL your representatives. Only our voices can counter the 800 health systems lobbyists pouring $1.5 Million a day into congresses pockets.

  • ObamasBabyMama, So what you have a rich friend. Who cares!!!

  • i have a new hero in the congress.

  • ObamasBabyMama When you get older, and you are alone like Scrooge and his mountains of coins, and you are drooling while wearing Depends, you will pray for the day you turn 65 so that you qualify for Medicare. There is not enough money in your stash to take care of catastrophic illness or injury. We will be happy to do this for you, we just want to do it for everybody.

  • do us a favor and drive your expensive car into the ocean, with you and only you in it. thank you

  • HA HA HA!!! So you JUST STARTED WORKING? Life's much better where I am! BTW there's about 25 people here laughing their asses off at your crazy, pathetic ass! It's obvious to us that you have life or friends! I'll do a shot for ya!

  • I paid for my Masters with my own money! I'll bet you don't even have a GED or TEETH! Still needing attention huh?

  • Have you ever heard the expression "Negative attention is better than no attention"? You need to seek your negative attention else where! Maybe you should seek therapy!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're an ASS PACKING FAG!
