While I agree with everything the Bible says about eternal hell for the lost, I do not agree with Paul Washer's assessment that people in hell would want to stay there after having seen it. Please don't go to that place - it's forever. Jesus died so you could be saved. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ - He is the ONLY way to the Father in Heaven!
The Bible does not teach eternal punishment. God's love & mercy endures forever. Does it really endure forever or only in this life? How can it be Good News if it doesn't translate to the afterlife? God will still judge but He will not punish forever. He's a better father than we are, right?
1 Tim 4:10 This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.
@"Mormons believe that those that who do not repent and believe will go to a heaven"
The Bible says something about not bearing false witness. You claim we believe those that don't believe or repent will go to Heaven. You just broke that commandment by lying about us. That isn't what we believe.
Well, well, well, look who's trying to use the law against someone else as if the very same commandment does not condemn you also. You have no problem issuing your own misrepresentations and falsehoods when it comes to Christian doctrine, yet here you are crying foul without a hint of irony nor pang of conscience. You are a colossal hypocrite majinish.
You didn't "describe" it majinish, you gave a definition - An incorrect definition that is tri-theism which you continue to assert is Christian doctrine no matter how many times you have been corrected. Tri-theism is heretical, the trinity is not tri-theism and it is firmly grounded in scripture. WIth all the resources available at your fingertips on the internet you have no excuse for maintaining an error as ill informed as a desert dwelling false prophet of the seventh century.
God could make us love him. But he wants us to love him of our own volition. That's how much we mean to him. Hell is not just about God's wrath. It's about God's pain.
I like this fella, yet he might want to re examine his own interpretation of the "Parable".. There is nothing literal in a parable, yet many evangelicals use the same story to speak of hell with their own take on it. Its a parable, teaching the difference between the saved and the lost. Since when do we take one parable and make it literal and not the rest? They are lessons. He has some good things to say, but still lacking light.
@aethomsen3 and how can you be so sure that it is a parable? parables never had names on them, Jesus used parables to teach concepts and truth about God. this text of Lazarus and the rich man does use names. even Abraham is there. it is a true story
@aethomsen3 and how can you be so sure that it is a parable? parables never had names on them, Jesus used parables to teach concepts and truth about God. this text of Lazarus and the rich man does use names. even Abraham is there. it is a true story
God did not bring man into existence that he might abhor His punishments, but to know, then adore, Him. Do you think Jesus died on the cross to save you from hell? No, He died that you might know Him. That knowledge is what saves you form hell.
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
In scripture we see the parable of Lazarus and the rich man who does not seem to repent as such. He asks Abraham to send Lazarus to bring him relief and that someone be sent to warn his family/relatives. I find it hard to fathom that someone in hell would not want to repent. Perhaps there is no repentance because there is no hope of salvation. After all, hope is for the living: In heaven what does one need to hope for? In hell, what chance is there of hope ever being satisfied?
You have no standard of truth you proved that being the fact you don't accept the righteousness of Almighty God therefore you say there is no Hell. With that logic you must believe everyone goes to Heaven which is a lie and senseless. It makes sinners feel good thinking that way and tickles ears when they hear it we know.
Growing up I've dabbed in many things been patronized and lied to many times but now since I have been born again I have been given all things in Christ Jesus. •Smile•
Jesus said if your eye causes you to sin to pluck it out and cast it from you for it is better to enter life having one eye then to go into Hell. There are different levels of torment some will be punished more than others according to their sins that is what the Bible says I am not going to believe the lies of the Roman Satanics nor you.
: Hell is nonsense; If you believe in hell, you believe that god it by far the worst revengeful tyrant ever. Hell as we know it, is the figment of Dante`s imagination. Hell is not even biblical. Hell is bullsh../
Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. So lizazoon it doesn't matter what you curse about it is true whether you believe it or not.
OnlyJesusCanSaveYou : I don`t believe in nonsense, even when it`s in the bible. Hell: the latest statements from the Vatican: Hell IS NO REAL PLACE OF TORTURE.
It is nonsense to say God does not Judge. If that is your God then yes it is not the God of the Bible. Why should a loving God just ignore sin? Is it because you want to sin? I wouldn't believe the Vatican they don't believe the Bible to begin with. The Bible warned about them. They murdered millions of Christians and tried taking their Bibles away and have gone against it in many ways. If you want to believe them because they make you feel good that is up to you. I will believe the truth.
OnlyJesusCanSaveYou:-- I will believe the truth. -- What you believe is NOT the truth. One day you will realize this. Have a good journey through life.
The fact remains you are a sinner and need Jesus. If you don't believe God will cutoff the wicked then you don't see your need for Jesus and the only reason someone would do that is because they don't truly love God at all and only want to take what this world has to offer. You have listened to the Devil and have no believed God. God remains the objective authority of morality with His standard of right and wrong and will Judge you.
That is Bible Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
So that disproves what you said. Of course you don't believe in it because you are a liar and profane but Jesus died for your sins so if you will repent to Him you can have all your sins blotted out. That is what God did for you. God shouldn't let wickedness like sin into His Kingdom. He hates sin and will cast all sin with the sinners that make it into Hell forever.
Who would want to stay in hell? For paul to say, if god tuck some one out of hell would they re'pent or just be in so much greef they hate god that much? Or hell is that bad you would just hate god for putting me in in this place??But i pray for other's and and repent everyday.
I totally understand where Paul is coming from in saying that people would rather stay in hell.. I've actually dealt with people that have the capacity for that exact situation... People that have been hurting, wanting help with their addictions and broken heartedness.. When I would mention Christ, they want to hear none of it. I think Washer hits the nail on the head with his illustration.
The word Repent has the Greek meaning to change your mind. You change your mind about how to be saved you trust Jesus Christ once for all to be saved. From that point on He sanctifies you by His Holy Spirit. Stop Repenting and get saved.
dannybammy are you asking me? I can answer that for you. Yes a person repents once to be saved after that when they are born again (of God of the Spirit) with the Holy Spirit being in the believer it is now God who sanctifies you. Do you make changes later of course but that is not repentance in biblical context. The points being made in the Bible were always specific and to be saved you have to change your mind about Jesus and God and know who He is and what He did then you are saved.
It doesn't say everyone sins the BIble says everyone has sinned. God is all knowing and when He saves someone He knows everything they have done are doing and am going to do. Salvation isn't some thing where you wake up one day and say I want to live for God. It is a revelation that takes place and is a work of the Holy Spirit. I had a supernatural experience at the age of 19 that I still to this day not humanly explain that was that the Lord Jesus Christ died and arose for the sin of the world.
:52 not true. The only ones that go to "outer darkness" are those who defy the Holy Spirit. To do that however, you need an absolute knowledge of God and his plan. We cannot and will not have that knowledge while living on this earth.
No, you have it wrong. Jesus was looking very weak at that time. He was bloodied. He was silent. He was in shackles. He did not look like their leader. They rejected Him as a man. They did NOT see His glory. He was not looking like God there, and if He did they would NOT have rejected Him.
This story is instructive as to how MANY christians today behave. They have no Spirit of Holy Ghost to let them know the truth. If those people had the Spirit, they would have KNOWN who He was.
Even if we are to assume that the people in hell would never want to leave, God would be more evil if he left them there forever...because he has the cure to their disease (Christ). No one comes to the Christ unless God draw him (john 6:44) so to say people are left in forever is to say God never draws some people.
hell or no hell, Pauls argument fails under one verse
"every knee shall bow, every tounge shall confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! to the glory of God the father" Philippians 2:10-11
oh, forgot one verse....john 12:32 says that Jesus will draw ALL men unto himself. so if the only way to coming to christ is God drawing one, and God will draw all...it naturally follows that hell cannot be literally eternal and that all will be reconciled through Christ eventually
So they call Him the Son of God, because that's His name? No, its because they are shameful spirits who really DO respect God even though they could have thrown some profanity His way, they don't. I think we're all that way. In the presence of Jesus, things get different. You will see when He comes again, and He visits the saints of God.
Good sermon, but you are mistaken on LDS doctrine. We presently live in a kingdom of glory which is called telestial. At the second coming of Christ, the Earth will become a terrestrial kingdom. After 1000 years, the Earth will become a celestial kingdom. Those who "will not" RECEIVE telestial, terrestrial, or celestial glory will receive outer darkness, which is HELL, for they are cut off from the presence of God. These are they whom Rev. Washer is referring to. These are they who hate God.
Well, aside form the obvious grammatical errors in the pop-up comment box, the statement is patently false. It is NOT leaving the Mormon CHURCH that qualifies a man for hell; it is turning one's back permanently on GOD, having once had a full witness that will qualify him for complete rejection of God.
what about mormons who discover that the LDS church is not true - but become christians? They leave the mormon church... and maybe joins another church.... what about them?
Again, this is not about a CHURCH. The Church is there to lead, guide and support. If your path to Christ SEEMS to lead through an alternate form of Christianity, then I SERIOUSLY doubt that qualifies you for hell. It may not lead to the LEVEL of "Heaven" you might have otherwise attained, but it will (in my opinion) be one with which you will be completely happy, Acceptance of a "lesser" form of Christianity does not qualify for a complete rejection of a loving God.
@testskriftene Well then they are classified simply as "lamebrains." haha! Seriously, I'm a convert to the LDS church and can't imagine being in any other church. Nothing else has the fulness of the gospel.
In the war in heaven we were all on the side of Jesus Christ, and Lucifer and the their part of the hosts of heaven were cast out, cast down forever.
For that faithfulness on our parts, we will all get a level of heaven, but the sons of perdition go to outer darkness.
People are blinded. That hatred is imagined, because once they meet their maker, they are going to bow the knee, and not begrudgingly. Even the evil spirits RESPECTED Jesus Christ when He cast them out, calling Him Son of God.
Oh you forgot we will be white skinned also. All White people are going to heaven right and all dark skinned people are not. That is according to the "curse of cain" 2 Nephi 5:21; Moses 7:8, 22; Abraham 1:24-27.
Or are these wrong? or did your god change his mind again?? You know If I was LDS I would not know what to follow??
So Good luck with all the changes your gods make all the time.
Only on your vids would you get away with this deceptive comment. Skin color means NOTHING in the eternities, how could it?
I want you to imagine that God, who glows like the SUN in brightness and glory, I want you to imagine what color that is. If you can imagine black, orange, red, or blue, or brown, or even yellow, then I think you don't understand this scripture:
Matt 17:2 [Jesus] was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was WHITE as the LIGHT.
Matthew 17:2 talks about Jesus face shining as the sun, not color white. the Color is talking about his cloths not skin as the, so called, scripture I posted does. It is talking about SKIN COLOR not shining. READ IT!!
So stop twisting scripture to please your "feelings".
This is why no one can reason with personalities like YOU. You see a scripture, it is plain as the sun at noonday, and you deny the sun, which is WHITE by the way...
When we look at the sun, is it black? Is it red? Is it green? No, its white. Jesus was a very bright WHITE on the mount when He showed His glory to Peter, James and John.
I wish you had some feelings, but I fear you are past feeling.
Eph. 4: 19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness...
Ok sorry for offending you! so in the scripture I gave there must be a referance to sun or sunlight somewhere then right? let me read again..."they were WHITE, and exceedingly FAIR and DELIGHTSOME, that they might not be centicing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of BLACKNESS to come upon them." Nope not here, ill keep reading...
"For behold, the Lord shall acurse the land with much HEAT (like sunlight? close but no), and the barrenness thereof shall go forth forever; and there was a BLACKNESS came upon all the children of Canaan (like night? nope color), that they were DESPISED among all people."
"And Enoch also beheld the residue of the people which were the sons of Adam; and they were a mixture of all the seed of Adam save it was the seed of Cain, for the seed of Cain were BLACK (no way), and had not place among them."
OK not looking good so far sorry! ill keep reading though...
". . . from Ham, sprang that race which preserved the CURSE in the land (Abraham 1:24)."
"Now the first government of Egypt was established by Pharaoh, the eldest son of Egyptus, the daughter of Ham, . . . Noah, his father, who blessed him with the blessings of the earth, . . . but CURSED him as pertaining to the Priesthood.
"Now, Pharaoh being of the lineage by which he could not have the right of Priesthood, . . . (Abraham 1:26-27)."
Grant, I am sorry if I offend you. I am not trying to but I know I do. I just wish you would just take the truth of the Bible and keep it close and true to you!
Grant (MAM) cannot accept the fact that the LDS was a very racist organization, especially so under Brigham Young, as that would be like admitting the organization was far from perfection, an image he likes to promote.
The LDS only lifted the priesthood ban in 1978 because being perceived as politically incorrect excluded possible avenues of revenue. which is the highest concern.
Depends on the Jew. There has been alot of inter-breeding with other races in Jewish history. Some are black, some are white, some look Arab, some have blond hair and blue eyes.
How was I off subject? you commented that Jesus raident brightness was the same as color white skin that Joseph Smith was talking about. I showed how they are in no way the same. Raident light and color white skin vs Black skin is in no way even close.
I am not quite sure what this video is supposed to be trying to convey. I am not a Paul Washer fan, but I don't see the connection between Mormonism and what is being said in this video.
I know LDS doesn't believe in hell but I don't see the connection between this clip and Mormonism per se. I also note quite a bit of speculation on Mr Washer's part going on. Not all sinners are aware of the dislike or outright disgust at our sovereign God. They delude themselves into thinking they love God and are happy serving Him. Yet their gods are idols of their own vain imaginations. Such is the subtlety of Satan who transforms himself into an angel of light.Cultists think they love God.
We DO believe in hell. When we die we get judged, a partial judgment, and either go to paradise in the spirit world, or to the spirit prison where satan and all his angels dwell too. Its a dark place, and it is hell. The paradise place, that's where Jesus went to visit the spirits in that world. You can read about that in Peter.
In hell, or the spirit prison, there is suffering, waiting, fear and trembling and spiritual pain as described by Alma.
One thing I am very happy about, is that the gospel of Jesus Christ has given me everything good I appreciate in my life. If that is duped, I want to be duped. Its all semantics anyway on what you want to call it. I am happy, and that's all that matters.
I don't stand idly by and let lies go unchallenged, however.
Yes. Happiness is that state of being that proves you are on the right track. If you have it, happiness, then you KNOW. Happiness is NOT the abundance of THINGS and worldly wealth. Happiness is the peace that comes from God, and when you have it, when you FEEL it, you know.
Alma 41: 10 Do not suppose, because it has been spoken concerning restoration, that ye shall be restored from sin to happiness. Behold, I say unto you, wickedness never was happiness.
Nice theory, but he doesn't know the hearts of all mankind. Where can I find all of this in the scriptures? Where can I even get a HINT of this in the scriptures?
Why is it that just because a preacher raises his voice that somehow this makes what he says more credible, just because he uses passion? Passion OFTEN finds itself on the wrong side of wrong and right. You guys trust in your pastors, I am going to trust in GOD and the FEELINGS He gives to me.
"popular" show? You mean that one with the cheesy loud HOWDY PARDNER pink background, Atari computer text overlays, Panasonic answering machine... THAT popular show?
lol, that's the one.. You're right about all of the expensive equipment. This must prove that he makes big bucks.
You might want to call Tues. at 6:15 PM Pacific to be the first caller.... I'm sure he would like to chat and get some of your opinions, like the caller, John from Fallon ILL.
That still small voice is the biblical truth that you and others are ignoring. Maybe because you did not experience it?
Can you tell me about YOUR experience with the Holy Ghost and what that was for you? What is the purpose of the Holy Ghost? HOW does He witness to us? Have you ever experienced the burning in your bosom as spoken of in Luke 24? 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
If you are brave and strong enough you will be able to drop everything you have been taught and start over. Or wait until the truth hits you like a ton of bricks.
You do not worship the God of Israel. You worship a god created by a man.
I know this Mormon speak. I was raised in it. You have no idea what the gospel of Christ is.
btw, the word of God is more important than his name. Psalm 138.2 for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
I have had many promptings of the spirit. You know what I do? I go straight to the Bible to see if what I "feel" is in conjunction with the word of God.
Have read the book, "The Secret"?
Listen to what your feelings say and you can have anything you want. It's Satanic.
All you have to do is look at YOUR channel, the videos you put up there, and the F Bombs in them, and see what YOU are promoting to know that you don't have anything to do with the spirit of the Holy Ghost. Look at the FRUIT of your labor. Its rotten fruit. You don't see any F Bombs on my channel. You don't see me promoting hate of another religion. You don't see all that. There is a difference between what you say is the spirit and what I say it is.
Exactly. Somehow the new agers under different titles can't seem to realize that feelings are subjective, and it would be stoopid to use any type of feelings as a fulcrum for truth. As the Bible states, our hearts will deceive us above all things. Apparently a 'gem' mormonexcuseman chooses to ignore.
Nice mormonanswerman, more real word of God cherry picking to justify your beliefs. It wasn't that tiny verse that really isn't saying what you like to think it is, that convinced you now was it. Someone 'taught' you this burning of the bosom was a reliable truth meter.
Mormons don't use Bible verses for truth, they use them to justify their beliefs. A common method all cults use. Try proving mormonism itself rather than your beliefs.
If I'm a cherry picker, you're a cherry chucker because you ignore all these gems from the scriptures, call it out of context or some other excuse, and generally ignore any scripture that you think might support the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.
Evangelicals like to call everybody else a cult who does not believe like they choose to believe.
No, I refer to a religion as a cult that has the characteristics of a cult. One of the characteristics of a cult is extra biblical text/s that is/are 'over' the Bible in authority. Evangelicals don't base entire sections of their belief system on single verses, or use single verses to justify them. Mormon 'baptism for the dead' is another great example. I've never met a mormon that based their beliefs on any Bible verse anyway. Your 'gems' only 'support' what you have already committed to.
you ABSOLUTELY sound like a cult to ME. So? I mean it, you DO. You ignore scriptures that are plain as day, you call it cherry picking to include them in the discussion, and you deny the power of God in that He can witness to people of the truth by causing them to have a burning in the bosom, a sense of knowledge and truth, and a confidence and comfort that Jesus referred to as the COMFORTER.
You take comfort in a self-deluded pseudo intellect, pretending to be more "genius" than others.
Sin has affected all parts of man. The heart, emotions, will, mind, and body are all affected by sin. We are completely sinful. We are not as sinful as we could be, but we are completely affected by sin.Mans heart is evil (Mark 7:21-23) and sick (Jer. 17:9). Man is a slave of sin (Rom. 6:20). He does not seek for God (Rom. 3:10-12). He cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14). He is at enmity with God (Eph. 2:15). And, is by nature a child of wrath (Eph. 2:3).
I was going to reply until I saw your response. AMEN!!! With only 500 characters or less to work with I could not have given a more thorough response.
@mormonanswerman Whoah! Talk about yout basic shifting sands firiend: FEELINGS. If people are wrong, and they are, to blindly trust their bishops or pastors without consulting the Bible it is even worse to let your feelings be your guide. Passion is often misplaced for sure. But trusting emotions like a burning in the bosom is not exactly a wise thing either. Many feel "saved" who are on their way to perdition.
Heaven WOULD help you if you would only trust a little more in the spiritual feelings that come from God, from the Holy Ghost. it is the still small voice spoken of in the Bible:
1 Kgs. 19: 12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
1 Ne. 17:45 ..he hath spoken unto you in a still small voice, but ye were past feeling that ye could not feel his words
It is called "Plagiarism" funny thing is when Joseph Smith was taking parts of the Bible to put in his Book, He also took the some of the few grammer errors and put them in. You would think the secong time God would have pointed it out.
"Passion OFTEN finds itself on the wrong side of wrong and right. "
So do "feelings" of "happiness" -- which in your previous post you said "yes" to the question was that "all that matters"
The walk in the Spirit is not based on feelings, but on God's unchanging Word -- the one God promised would never fade or die...and therefore never be in need of "restoration"
The doctrine, or what you call the gospel of Mormonism is not the gospel of the New Testament.
This fascinating read of the Bible must become a real stumbling block when you come across a verse that says geneologies are foolish and "faith only" is counted as righeousness. What about the verse talking about baptizing dead people, and why stand in jeapardy every hour? I know the New Testament puts sourpuss smiles on the priesthood rulers.
Genealogy would only be foolish if I used it to prove how much better I was than you, because of my relationship to past important people. There is nothing wrong with knowing who your ancestors were. Even Jesus's genealogy is known and stated in the Bible. Are you attacking this important biblical feature, and misunderstanding Paul at the same time??
In fact, I do believe the New Testament, but so many things make me KNOW that many of you pick and choose from it. Read JESUS more.
Baptizing dead people? Why stand in jeapardy every hour? Your genealogical work does not complete any prophecy. It uplifts the desires of men who like to dwell and claim "might is right."
This is what Mormonism survives on, "might." Everyone else is a gentile, even the Jews are gentiles.

OnlyJesusCanSaveYou 1 year ago

Or hell is that bad you would just hate god for putting me in in this place??But i pray for other's and and repent everyday.
dannybammy 2 years ago
I totally understand where Paul is coming from in saying that people would rather stay in hell.. I've actually dealt with people that have the capacity for that exact situation... People that have been hurting, wanting help with their addictions and broken heartedness.. When I would mention Christ, they want to hear none of it. I think Washer hits the nail on the head with his illustration.
sicstyl 2 years ago
The word Repent has the Greek meaning to change your mind. You change your mind about how to be saved you trust Jesus Christ once for all to be saved. From that point on He sanctifies you by His Holy Spirit. Stop Repenting and get saved.
joydarling314 1 year ago
Here's what i dont get, Everyone sins, yes!" But if i sin than i should repent; But your saying if your saved you shouldnt have to repent??
dannybammy 1 year ago
dannybammy are you asking me? I can answer that for you. Yes a person repents once to be saved after that when they are born again (of God of the Spirit) with the Holy Spirit being in the believer it is now God who sanctifies you. Do you make changes later of course but that is not repentance in biblical context. The points being made in the Bible were always specific and to be saved you have to change your mind about Jesus and God and know who He is and what He did then you are saved.
OnlyJesusCanSaveYou 1 year ago
It doesn't say everyone sins the BIble says everyone has sinned. God is all knowing and when He saves someone He knows everything they have done are doing and am going to do. Salvation isn't some thing where you wake up one day and say I want to live for God. It is a revelation that takes place and is a work of the Holy Spirit. I had a supernatural experience at the age of 19 that I still to this day not humanly explain that was that the Lord Jesus Christ died and arose for the sin of the world.
OnlyJesusCanSaveYou 1 year ago
:52 not true. The only ones that go to "outer darkness" are those who defy the Holy Spirit. To do that however, you need an absolute knowledge of God and his plan. We cannot and will not have that knowledge while living on this earth.
thatjimguy 2 years ago
No, you have it wrong. Jesus was looking very weak at that time. He was bloodied. He was silent. He was in shackles. He did not look like their leader. They rejected Him as a man. They did NOT see His glory. He was not looking like God there, and if He did they would NOT have rejected Him.
This story is instructive as to how MANY christians today behave. They have no Spirit of Holy Ghost to let them know the truth. If those people had the Spirit, they would have KNOWN who He was.
mormonanswerman 2 years ago

SotoBaggins 2 years ago

Buttongear 2 years ago 5
what about mormons who discover that the LDS church is not true - but become christians? They leave the mormon church... and maybe joins another church.... what about them?
testskriftene 2 years ago
Again, this is not about a CHURCH. The Church is there to lead, guide and support. If your path to Christ SEEMS to lead through an alternate form of Christianity, then I SERIOUSLY doubt that qualifies you for hell. It may not lead to the LEVEL of "Heaven" you might have otherwise attained, but it will (in my opinion) be one with which you will be completely happy, Acceptance of a "lesser" form of Christianity does not qualify for a complete rejection of a loving God.

Matt 17:2 [Jesus] was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was WHITE as the LIGHT.
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
Matthew 17:2 talks about Jesus face shining as the sun, not color white. the Color is talking about his cloths not skin as the, so called, scripture I posted does. It is talking about SKIN COLOR not shining. READ IT!!
So stop twisting scripture to please your "feelings".
Exodus314IAM 2 years ago
This is why no one can reason with personalities like YOU. You see a scripture, it is plain as the sun at noonday, and you deny the sun, which is WHITE by the way...
When we look at the sun, is it black? Is it red? Is it green? No, its white. Jesus was a very bright WHITE on the mount when He showed His glory to Peter, James and John.
I wish you had some feelings, but I fear you are past feeling.

Blogrich55 2 years ago
We DO believe in hell. When we die we get judged, a partial judgment, and either go to paradise in the spirit world, or to the spirit prison where satan and all his angels dwell too. Its a dark place, and it is hell. The paradise place, that's where Jesus went to visit the spirits in that world. You can read about that in Peter.
In hell, or the spirit prison, there is suffering, waiting, fear and trembling and spiritual pain as described by Alma.

Behold, I say unto you, wickedness never was happiness.

awolLDSasap 2 years ago
That still small voice is the biblical truth that you and others are ignoring. Maybe because you did not experience it?
Can you tell me about YOUR experience with the Holy Ghost and what that was for you? What is the purpose of the Holy Ghost? HOW does He witness to us? Have you ever experienced the burning in your bosom as spoken of in Luke 24? 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

Exactly. Somehow the new agers under different titles can't seem to realize that feelings are subjective, and it would be stoopid to use any type of feelings as a fulcrum for truth.
Try proving mormonism itself rather than your beliefs.
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
If I'm a cherry picker, you're a cherry chucker because you ignore all these gems from the scriptures, call it out of context or some other excuse, and generally ignore any scripture that you think might support the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.
Evangelicals like to call everybody else a cult who does not believe like they choose to believe.
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
No, I refer to a religion as a cult that has the characteristics of a cult. One of the characteristics of a cult is extra biblical text/s that is/are 'over' the Bible in authority. Evangelicals don't base entire sections of their belief system on single verses, or use single verses to justify them. Mormon 'baptism for the dead' is another great example. I've never met a mormon that based their beliefs on any Bible verse anyway. Your 'gems' only 'support' what you have already committed to.
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
you ABSOLUTELY sound like a cult to ME.

Blogrich55 2 years ago
Right on, Blogrich.
Heaven help me if I trust my feelings above the promises of God -- His eternal truth.
Lot looked out over the land and chose based on what looked best -- or perhaps what "felt right" to him.
Abraham, on the other hand, was on His face before a Holy God, seeking His will ... and not a feeling.
Bless you, BR55

Do you want me to point them out to you?
Just look at John 11 and Alma 19... I can go on.

How do YOU feel about the gospel of Jesus Christ? Does it do anything for you? Do you think there is a reason for that?
If reading the scriptures were drudgery, I would not read them. They are fascinating and uplifting, I enjoy it, I am happy about it.
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
The doctrine, or what you call the gospel of Mormonism is not the gospel of the New Testament.
This fascinating read of the Bible must become a real stumbling block when you come across a verse that says geneologies are foolish and "faith only" is counted as righeousness. What about the verse talking about baptizing dead people, and why stand in jeapardy every hour? I know the New Testament puts sourpuss smiles on the priesthood rulers.
awolLDSasap 2 years ago
Genealogy would only be foolish if I used it to prove how much better I was than you, because of my relationship to past important people. There is nothing wrong with knowing who your ancestors were. Even Jesus's genealogy is known and stated in the Bible. Are you attacking this important biblical feature, and misunderstanding Paul at the same time??
In fact, I do believe the New Testament, but so many things make me KNOW that many of you pick and choose from it. Read JESUS more.
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
Christs' genealogy fullfilled all prophecy.
