so what do you use to seal and protect the piece? I am customizing my stepsons skateboards and I need a good paint pen that is waterproof and blendable and can be spray sealed. I see two types of pens used, waterbased, and oilbased...which do you use for boards?

Never said it was mine. Actually, if you want to get technical it isn't Drew's. Believe it or not, Rick Griffin is the originator of this style. You probably shouldn't criticize people before you know the history. Drew Brophy is a friend of mine and he is also a big inspiration to me as well as Rick Griffin. Thank you for your comment, thought I would just inform you.

@Joeyyyyyy08 I'm sorry i never comment but this made me laugh. Griffin's work is similar to Brophy's yes but not even close to say that he was the originator of that style. Drew Brophy's work is unique. Unlike yours which seems to be an exact replica of his, the exact details like the froth of the wave or spit coming off the top can be found on Drew's website. But no doubt you have skill I'm not knocking you there only your originality.

hey if anyone can answer this that'd be awesome:

i'm doing something similar to my longboard; i put down a white primer coat with spray paint after sanding.

my question is, will the posca paint pen pick up and mix with the white primer coat or no. if so, should i put something else over the white? thanks

You are an amazing artist. And this is from a 14 year old girl whos a skateboarder and dreaming to be as great at drawing as you. I draw but not as good. I only draw realistic and sometimes cartoon. Can you please give me some tips on how to get better at drawing. I want to paint and draw my boards rather than buying one.

@LilAznPwnage You need to train ( a lot ), buy a set of pencils and everything that you fancy as an artist and a LOT of paper. When I joined my art school I was inactive at drawing since many years and I had to fill two books with drawings within 3 weeks, I did... and now I get better every day. You'll automatically acquire techniques by observing how that pen is going to react with this paper or melted with that other pen, etc, etc...

And show your work afterward ;)
