Take someone like Lady Gaga for example.....her music is GARBAGE but Interscope Records makes sure shes ALL over the fucking TV and Internet and Radio....so she gets into the Minds of the Masses.

For example, when Jay first came out, he couldn't get a deal and publishing to save his life so, you gotta start your own businesses. When an artist first gets signed, with their first song or album they are being gambled on by their label. If, in fact, you command attention and the single does well then you get the big publishing deals and endorsements.

So you get a trial run and if it has the potential to make your label rich then you start seeing their faces everywhere and hearing their music. Bcuz ppl demand to hear them. They buy their albums, and watch their videos. And just bcuz the label is major does not mean you are gonna get major money spent on you. They have to know that they can make their money back TEN FOLD.
