The first 30 episodes were originally filmed and shown in black & white, despite Sidney Sheldon's efforts to have the series filmed in color from the start. He initially offered to offset the extra cost of filming each episode in color [about $400 each], but Screen Gems executive Jerry Hyams told him, "Save your money". Sheldon believed SG didn't think "JEANNIE' would last beyond its first season. Finally, when all 3 networks scheduled 100% color programs in prime-time in the fall of '66...
Originally aired on March 5, 1966, with a rare score by Nelson Riddle {Sidney Sheldon was "trying out" other composers to write music for the series at the time, eventually settling on Hugo Montenegro for season two}.
I hate network television because of censors who cared if you could see Barbara's naval it didn't bother me lol and there are other reasons because stupid NBC cancelled the classic Star Trek! I wish I was alive back then I would beat up the suits JK LOL
LOL,this was such a good show. Hayden Rorke (Dr. Bellows)was a class act himself. I now regret that when I had a chance to see and meet him (he was doing a play at the Show Boat Dinner Theater in Largo Florida), I didn't go for it. He was reportedly a nice person to meet. He passed away not too long afterwards. R.I.P Mr. Roarke.

Yes, but I don't remember it being in color. Must be remastered.

I think you're right--I remember the first season as b&w. This is about the best colorizing I have seen.

Poor Dr Bellows. Will he never learn?
And BTW, is that legal? Your boss can't just decide to move in with you. Maybe today the military can, what with the Patriot Act, but not in the 60s!
