I'm very happy with draft, you make a very good point of the QB play of the teams we play against.Williams,Suh, Hill,Vanden Bosch, this could be the starting DLine on opening,
Follett,Levy,Peterson as Linebackers.
Delmas, Bullock,Houston,Spivey DB.all of a sudden we look a whole lot better on the D Front,
J Best,Fox,Toone, on the Offensive side of the ball.
With the free agent pick-up we are adding more piece's to the Lions Jig-saw.
100% agree with you. the whole Suh/DT hype machine is blinding the fact that we haven't had a decent DB/CB since Bly and Westbrook/Fair before that. As of right now the line is improved, yet a pass defense that gave up 4,295 yards last year a combined 10 intt's in the last 2 years is pretty sad. In addition there is more ?'s(how good is Houston/Wade)
The Lions arent gonna give Berry a serious look, im sure its either a DT or OT in the first Rd. Berry would cost less in the long run(contract)
I think that more than anything, having Millen gone and having the same coordinators for two years in a row (we haven't done that in a while) is going to make the team better.
Now, as far as the draft pick is concerned. I try to stay obtective and say to take the best player available, but when you pick in the top 5-10, you have to consider the position they play, because of the big time money you will pay out.
Priorities... 1. Trade Back 2. Suh 3. McCoy 4. Okung.
That's because they never got any pressure, you could have Deion and C Woodson, and if you aint getting any pressure they are gonna look bad. You gotta work on the trenches. Until then our secondary is gonna look bad.
Very good point here. That is a big part of the struggles as well. The front needs to step up and help get or help cause turn overs. Or to just make stops in general.
I agree with Berry 1st rd and if the guard from Idaho is there in the 2nd we get him. after that get talent. AND FIND A #2 WR!!!!! that will open up the offense a little bit.
I say draft McCoy or Suh. At lot of analysts consider those two by far and away the best players in the draft. A defensive lineman effects every play while a safety can sometimes have no effect on a play. Ideally, I'd like them to trade down and stockpile picks but that is unlikely. However, if they do trade down, pending on how far, Berry or Joe Haden, may be the best players on the board.
i find it hilarious how no one can exactly pin point a draft, no one saw Jahvid best coming. a GREAT pick.

You can't draft for need, you have to draft the guy most likely to make it in the pros, regardless of position.

Very good point, Ndamukong Suh would be my second choice.
