  • how does the tanpura work?

  • @jaytotheell The tanpura is just the drone instrument in the background that provides a counterpoint to the melody. I am using a virtual tanpura here which plays on a loop.

  • @GyldneAaB It's a tambura. An Indian drone instrument used to acompany the solo instruments such as sitar.

  • for synthesized sitar, this is quite remarkable. i mean nothing matches the true sound of sitar, but i haven't heard a better keyboard rendition than this.
