  • how many years did it take to collect all those microwaves lol

  • LOL all I have is a ninety percent built very very crappy SGTC. Secondary is terrible. Will test it today and have officially a high voltage device that I have built from entire scratch (except for NST LOL)

  • Prettiest sound in the universe!

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • holy shit those arcs look like a freaking pole pig!

  • wow that looked like a shorted power line!!!

  • fuck that looks like a shorted power line!

  • fuck that looks like a shorted power line!

  • That is insane. Those flaming arcs are impressive.

  • that would make a hell of a Tesla coil

  • Great setup, and the results are great! Got to get mine off the 120V rail and onto 240. Thanks for sharing!

  • nice arc and sound. good job, dude!

  • Dude, you should have done this in the basement with some beakers full of dry ice.

    Maybe a one-eyed hunchback.

  • damn! badass.

reminds me of them huge power station switch arcs

  • How much does it draw? Really nice arc! What's the resonant frequency?

  • the resonant frequency would be 60hz

  • Your trannies are in sealed containers? Probably not the most ingenious cooling scheme..

  • I needed to put them under oil to get them to last more than a few seconds. These held up for about ten minutes before the oil started boiling and deep fried the trannies. I knew they would get cooked, I just needed them to hold up long enough to get some video. I don't think this set up can be done without destroying the transformers. I know I went through several sets, killed 6 or 8 trannies in the process.

  • you would need something like a cars cooling, a pump that pumps the oil through a radiator witha fan, then back to the box, but with this much capacitence, id think theyd still cook, not as fast, but still cook

  • Probably alot of work considering they would still fail pretty quickly. Perhaps a quick/easy and cheap method of prolonging them would to have another container ready filled with dry ice. Have a friend shovel dry ice directly into the warm oil baths as you used the ladder, the dry ice when melting and vapourizing will absorb a considerable amount of heat from the oil. All that dry ice vapourizing would look pretty cool too ;-)

  • ya that may work

  • @bonggoggles

You should try submerging them in distilled water with ice packs or bags of ice in a bucket

  • @bonggoggles

I have 2 mots that never ever heat up its model # is YEC HV M/W Oven Power Transformer, YSH-200, Y5115-6(N)

I might buy a 3rd 1 from someone but i need 4 of them if you find 1 i will buy it :)

how much current were you drawing?

  • Nice setup, man!

  • ho...ly...SHIT!!!!!them some big arcs!, where did u get all those MOcaps?

  • From old microwave ovens.

  • wow, youve seen a lot of microwave's insides!
