this is lyrical , not contemporary ... good teacher ... idk when he danced it looked a lil stepped through..... it didnt look natural like tha moves were flowing through him..

i train at one of the best contemporary dance schools in the UK, London Contemporary Dance School. Seeing this makes me feel sick and disgusted that my whole 3 years of dance training was all a joke that this is what contemporary dance is supposedly! I feel this guy and the BBC needs to be taken into a dance school and see what exactly contemporary is! if he said this is lyrical or commercial then fair enough! Angry cannot describe how i feel!

@MrRounddrop this is not basic contemporary to people who are training to be professional contemporary dancers. I didn't say they need to go to train at a school but go and have the respect for dance artists who are trying to be heard/get a name for themselves by being a dance artist. Its more a respect thing, but of course people who not trained wouldnt understand that.

this is an insult to all contemporary dancers out there. ffs when are people going to learn that contemporary is not commercial lyrical jazz. if you want to know what contemporary dance is i advise not to watch this video and go and take a class in a contemporary technique.

This is not contemporary dance by any stretch of the imagination. Stuart is originally a hip hop dancer/choreographer and what he is teaching here looks more like some sort of jazz routine. Poor effort BBC for making 33000 people believe this is contemporary dance.

I study contemporary dance. I would call this lyrical dance, 'contemporary' is a very wide bracket and a lot more complex.
