  • like a group of kids with nothng better to do!

  • @beastinblack Exactly. :D

  • Perhaps I'll need a tank or an armored vehicle.... :P

  • @sdjnwhyNZ maybe

  • cheeky little kea ^_^

  • @Abhitron

Congratulations. You can look up shit on Wikipedia.

  • @SaveJakeSaveTheWorld ROFL, well yeah that's why I came here. It was a featured article on Wikipedia.

  • @SaveJakeSaveTheWorld say what ?

  • @SaveJakeSaveTheWorld congratulations you can look up shit on you tube

  • The Kea is the world's only species of alpine parrot, which is pretty awesome. And by the looks of them, they seem very cute and cheeky :) I read an article about one that stole a British man's passport lol.

  • going to new zealand in 2 weeks-totally dressing up as a car.

  • @omfglastresort new zealand was amazing ,wish i could go again tomorrow

  • Kea are an endangered species and their numbers could be as low as 1000 birds left in the wild .

  • @brucey39 fingers crossed for them,we saw and heard many when we were there, lucky us.

  • Man, how can you let them do this to a car?

  • @marelicainavokado at the start he says, "I can't believe they walked off when they started,"

  • @pikiwiki they did they took pics and walked off .i parked our car well away

  • @marelicainavokado only a car

  • I bet they were thinking your shoes were part of your body. "This 2 legged thing has tough skin innit?"

  • 1:30 Kick it! KICK IT! Kick the little bastard!

Sheesh...people keep gushing over how "intelligent" the kea is, but keas don't seem capable of grasping the notion that keas really need to leave humans' stuff alone. "ACK! They shot at us while we were biting chunks out of their sheep! ACK! They threw rocks at us while we were tearing the rubber seals out of their cars' windows! ACK! They kicked us after we bit their shoes! Why do the humans keep ATTACKING us?!?"

  • @BloodyBay: Maybe Kea were in NZ long before humans arrived and live in an environment that is harsh and marginal for human agriculture/habitation. Exploration behaviour is possibly one reason this species can survive in such harsh environments. Moreover, the "trouble making" birds are probably juveniles as adults generally have their time taken up looking after nestlings during the summer...

  • Anyone here read it on Cracked?

  • @CainBitterman don,t understand ????

  • @ninja2kernow cracked.com

They just wrote an article featuring kea parrots. Not that I'm expecting any thumbs, but it's always interesting to see a surge of cracked readers come to a youtube video.

  • @CainBitterman cracked is the best site on the internet

  • It' s very cuuteee :3

  • "up to any challenge"... NOT!

  • They obviously have no way of realizing that those big barriers to the food they smell is individual property of someone. It's not their faults..

  • well, the birds only chewed it up because ti was there. its pretty much our fault for inventing cars.

  • It's a real shame you didn't let them chew all the way through to your toes, seriously, sitting their and filming them destroy someone else's property? You are a wanker.

  • @mealsy hey don,t interfere with nature.

  • @mealsy Because the Kea is more intelligent than you.

  • @thatcher88 How was that even a reply? This has nothing to do with my intelligence. Ill make sure if I ever go to New Zealand, to pack a .22 just for these little pricks.

  • @mealsy You want to kill endangered birds which have a higher intelligence than most animals. Wow, aren't you a hard man?

  • @thatcher88 They look like pests to me. If they're so intelligent why are they endangered.

  • @mealsy Because they are birds that are hunted by men. Intelligence has nothing cannot make them bigger and stronger. It does mean that they are a recovering endangered species that is endemic and fascinating.

  • @mealsy Regardless of whether these guys were there & filming or not, the keas would've gone to town on the car. They're bold creatures, and they don't get scared / intimidated by humans at all, so you can't shoo them off. They're also a protected / endangered species, so you can't harm them.

  • @kozzoz You know what? When you explain it that way you actually make a fair point.

  • @mealsy since its on recording the owner can claim it with the insurance company. Use some common sense lad.

  • hahahaha my favorite bird

  • Those little bastards are worse than seagulls. I wonder if alka seltzer would calm them down.

  • @john17972 sure it would

  • These guys are so funny XD Especially when you've gone skiing and come back and see them attacking some random dudes car XD

  • awesome video

  • Comment removed

  • @john17972 or not

  • @john17972 that ain,t even funny,whats wrong with people

  • @john17972 So not funny Dude...

  • @john17972 Interesting how they were there first and they are only doing what they know in life and you want to take it away from them just because you can. It is people like you who should be the victim of your own devices. Stop killing everything around you and let nature do its own thing.

  • @djyeshua If people left creatures--including other people--alone because "they were there first", then there would be no conquest, far less sociopolitical evolution...all in all, most of the nations on this planet wouldn't exist, and world history would be a fairly boring subject.

As for that and "let nature do its thing," raccoons may have been here in Texas for millenia before the first white settlers arrived. But if I see a raccoon anywhere near my chickens, it dies. No exceptions.

  • that guy was lucky the kea up in arthurs pass pulled all the rubber off the guy that parked next mes car they took it off the windscreen wipers the doors and everywhere

  • Heh, Hankook Tyres - Up To Any Challenge, they didn't take Keas into account. ^^

  • These civilians don't have to worry about birds shitting on their cars..

  • Just throw a fire-cracker in there. That'd be good for a laugh.

  • LOL... dude, I have those exact same boots :D

  • @goxdie000 great boots

  • LOL.. nature's hooligans

  • @foggy222 No hooligans would mean that their stupid and Kea's are not there is a vid of kea's tearing up a car, with just their beaks.

  • Any african grey parrot will distroy your leather goods

  • you will like jail here . if you actually KILL a Kea, you will prolly not make it there....we got plenty of varmints you can clean up. Keas are not one of them, and are protected by law. But you are right in one way....we SHOULD warn tourists.....i mean, these birds WILL steal your pants !

  • @tasman763 seems like killing possums in your car is sport in nz ,we saw hundreds literaly couple of years ago,

  • @zembonez cool ,in uk not many guns ,but hey people kill not guns eh

  • @zembonez shit no guns man ,no guns.damn people and guns

  • On the tyre cover where it says "up to any challenge" they should've added "except keas!"

  • "I can't beleive the've watched them start and then walked off" Says the guy that filmed the whole thing. :D

  • @AdamBailey9 ye just like i said ,they took photos ,walked off

  • good job, just watching the effin things tear up someones stuff instead of DOING something about it...FYL

  • @aequis310 hey i did do something i filmed it ,

  • @aequis310 I would have done just one thing, I would have had to give the first one a little repremand for biting at the other one. Awesome display! thank for the smile I needed today!

  • @aequis310 I would have done just one thing, I would have had to give the first one a little repremand for biting at the other one. Awesome display! thank for the smile I needed today!

  • Well. Look at what the kea does to a car. And in Germany men love their cars so much more than anywhere else. :-D

It is extremely stressy , what is happening after one had done even the smallest scratch to a car there. Amazing. Compared to France, Italy, Spain or Holland for example.

I guess - these Keas would be the ultimate nightmare to Germans. ;-))

  • What a horror that must be for Germans. Sometimes it seems there is nothing more important to German men than their cars.

    Like this birds. amazing

  • @dorothea81 how do you get from parrots to german men?????

  • @ninja2kernow how did you get from ninja2kernow hahaha lmoa jk but damn those birds are really brave ... i think its cause they the advantage of flight but if they knew the advantage of a gun they would stay away from me... neh i dont own a gun ...lol

  • @onofomi i hadn,t thought of that ,but i,m ginger so my mates call me ninja.and i live in cornwall ,also called kernow, thatrs ninja2kernow.but the birds knew that,so they put on a show ..they are sooo cool.

  • @ninja2kernow she always has german men on her mind

  • @dorothea81 They're New Zealand parrots. Think parrots are pretty thin on ground (in the air, lol?) 'round Germany way.

  • @2sick2care : I know that quite well. But as a German you are sort of over sensitive concerning cars. :-D From the first day you walk and so on.

So - it is kind of very funny and relaxing to watch this keas doing these things to cars.

Things, one would never even dare to think of.

Sure - it is not nice for the car owners then.

  • I was told that you need to keep ur cars away from them otherwise they'd eat the rubber from ur tires...

  • GANGSTERS! Great futage mate, atleast it wasn't your motor, didn't thes birds get shot to bits for taking chunks out of sheep?

  • @geffski do you mean chunks out of jeep

  • Now if they only knew how to drive them!

  • i left the bbbbs on purpose, that was my pet doing that. how ironic she stepped on the b key, right in front of bird.

  • this bird has a bad reputation, big deal if they chew on a windshield wiper, or put their beaks in cracks on the roof. They do little if any damage. they are awesome inquisite bbbbbbbbbbbirds, and if i ever came across one, i would consider it a great honour.

  • i thought it was a privilage to have interacted with them in the way i did ,it was really cool

  • @opal1920able these birds are very very very intelligents .Search for kea parrot

  • OMG, i love these birds. they are so inquisitive and curious. omg i just adore them and love them.

  • hey that was my car!!!

  • really ????

  • that was alot of money to fix that! why didn"t u shoo them off?

  • @ninja2kernow i don`t believe

  • @PiroAnO what don,t you believe????

  • Little bastards. But you've got to love them.

  • Looks like they have a thing for rubber/vinyl materials! XD No doubt those beaks can do some damage, but cool birds anyway =)

  • I have just returned from New Zealand and was lucky enough to meet one of these amazing alpine parrots. These parrots evolved in a predator free environment and genuinely have no fear. They like to dismantle cars for fun, it has nothing to do with food or eating, they are simply enteraining themselves. Feeding of the parrots is discouraged with a regard to not interferring with it 's natural healthy diet. The Kea I met was sitting on a car roof posing for the camera, surrounded by tourists.

  • Well it's a good thing you did nothing after those people walked away from the 4x4 and the parrots started to rip the tire cover. haha.

  • Trouble is, people feed them, and they put 2 and 2 together and realize the food is stored in the car. They also know that the rubber is the weakest part, so they go after the rubber bits trying to loosen the windshield/windows. Some smart birdies.

  • i sure didn,t feed them i just sat and watched ,well i through a stone for it to chase but that was it

  • They're cheeky little bastards, lol

  • nice

  • O man, as much as I like birds, i'd wanna kill them! My parrot sometimes destroys my precious things, he just can't keep his beak from breaking everything. ha ha, and now to see 3 of these destructors working on 1 car together! hilarious :-) (glad it's not my car) ha ha ha!!!!!

  • parrots are like dogs you need to keep them occupied, cos they got brains .buy him a suitable puzzle metal ring one .

  • Yeah, I got him a branch from a tree to sit on and play with. he knows he can stay out of his cage when he just stays on that branch.

  • cool

  • Man, i don't care how protected they are. I would beat the hell out of one of those birds if that was my car

  • @Samwow99 me too

  • ye well it ain,t your car so chill,or mine,i parked well away.they only come down for an hour in the morning apparently then go proper parrot stuff.

  • thats a bit over the top you could just go HAA and they would fly away,HAA

  • they fucking love rubber wtf

  • Well.... rubber is a plant soooo quite posible. There omnavores from what i can figure out so most likely yes/no depending on what they feed on in there enviroment from were they come from before they started this kind of behavore when humans showed up.

  • They are eatingggg youuu!

  • really louzy parrots :D:D

  • they are awesome!

  • lol reminds me of my two sons...... maybe they were Keas in a previous life??

  • lol,maybe

  • Kea are so funny, -well when you just have to wach them on the screen haha,

  • Don't give them a taste for mammal blood!

  • They're smart enough to know that destroying things is fun :D

  • I so much wanna go see them. xD

  • hahaha they like to investigate alot, so much they will destroy things...really cool birds

  • What are they doing? Investigating? Are they looking for nesting material? Surly not food.

  • it was hard to tell what they do it for ,mischief.though rubbery things seem to get most attention.

  • I love the Kea so much

It's must be the liveliest of the parrot family to do that much damage

  • NOT THE SKIN NOT THE SKIN!!!!!!!

  • ha ha ye didn,t want that beak checkin out my leg.ha ha

  • The cars and shoes are their naturals preys o.o

    Hahaha cute birds XD

  • i love that someone is called archiebunkerfan

  • Southern Chuligans !!! very cute birds

  • cool

  • They are enjoying taking a video of someones car being trashed (well atleast somewhat).

  • ye it was cool ,worth the trip cos i heard of them when i was a kid, good times

  • keas are so awesome. They just love rubber for some reason.

  • I love these birds they have real personality, they look you in the eye and stroll around like they own the place.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • this bastards destroy all cars in new zealand

  • sweet bird. wish i had one... read about how they occasionally attack sheep by ripping through the wool and skin on their backs to eat at the fat. pretty weird/gross but definitely an awesome bird haha

  • jajajajaj como se nota que el coche no es del que graba jajajajajajjajaaj

  • ahahahahah

  • maybe they think it's a carcass and they're trying to get to the meat.

  • lol humans drive carcasses.

  • Nah, they just do that for sport! They slide down my roof, repeadedly, for fun.

    Very intelligent, cheeky and destructive.

  • ahaahah son of bitch aahah

  • bad, bad bird. No cracker for ya.

  • they are trouble makers:)

  • In further news, keas have been seen wearing studded feather jackets with gang insignia. People are advised to watch for further parroting of this behaviour.

  • Hahaha! Love them! Raccoons are funny too, and so are possums!

  • when we wre in nz ,for 2 months we saw 4,5 hundred dead ones on the side of the roads ,but never saw a live one

  • Hahah, the little bastards. I was amazed to see them cut through plastic.

  • they are so intelligent.

  • Are they docile? or could you tame one?.

  • there are clips on you tube with people ,keeping them. but best left where they belong ey

  • The Marquis of Tavistock kept a breeding pair of them in the UK in the 1930s. I wouldn't keep one nowadays, according to one aviculture magazine they're becoming endangered.

  • we saw on the tv over there, they eat the lead of the rooves and are poisoning them selves, but the DOC are replacing it on there buildings

  • lol They are pretty mischievous aren't they?

  • like most animals you go were they live dont be suprised if something happens

  • that should happen to all 4x4s.

  • haha Keas are cool. Ive seen them trash many a car.

  • if you're stupid enough to leave your car near where there are kea then you deserve that to happen...

  • lol :)

  • he was just trying to change that guy's flat tire

  • Why don't you stop them? That's someone's car!

  • The car is kind of on the Kea's turf.

  • to right

  • i pressed bad comment by accident,it was a good comment

  • Oh hey I think I've read about those before! They are supposed to be smart and mischevious, wrecking peoples' cars for fun, right?

  • I'll bet if you leave a galaga or donkey kong or centipede arcade machine there for a few years, you'd eventually find that one of the birds beat the high score.

  • ye for sure

  • It´s their right to do that. Cars don´t belong there.
