whats the deal with the break...Chris stops drumming to get a drink but there's a track still playing ? odd...at the start to btw, where is the elec organ?
@ShenmueAtheist You can watch a live video of "Never-Never" on Youtube. I have the full DVD of this gig at the Abyss (Houston, TX, 11 August 1994) and it was the 14th song of that show.
@ShenmueAtheist Oops, I apologize : you were right, the DVD features "Desire Lines" but not "Never-Never". So I'd be happy to find a live version of this song too.
Sad to think this was Chris Acland's final birthday. A tragic loss if ever there was one. I always thought that this song, live, showed off his drumming at it's very best. Simple and mesmerising.
A Powerful song in the Movie - City of Industry, along with Tricky & Massive Attack (3). Well sellected tracks, with a good insight of LA outer districts. Loved Harvey Keitel & Lush!
One of their most beautiful songs... I've discovered their music only in 1997 when I was a couple of weeks in rainy Seattle for my work, when I heard them on some online radio station. I went out and bought the "Lovelife" CD right away. Great late night music indeed, got under my skin and never left. The Lush albums are almost burnt in the memory of the mp3-player I always carry with me and probably in my own memory, too. Too bad I've never seen them perform live.
yes, one of the sickest solos almost entirely missed by the one with the camera :-|

@ShenmueAtheist They used to play "Never Never" during the Split tour in '94.
julosx 1 year ago
@julosx really? I checked out a bunch of set lists on some Lush fansite and they never played it once.

Love Lush. Absolutely love 'em. Saw them about thirty times - never got bored. Miki's charisma, bottled, could launch starships.

The first bar of this song set the entire crowd's hair on end. THE best set they ever played in SF and I saw them all.

Favorite Lush song.

Great song that always sounded to me bit like the theme music to The Sweeney or one of those other intense, old UK cop shows.

Emma said it was one of her favorite songs from Lush for the "Duran Duran solo at end".

Ever notice how this song sounds just like 'Never Never' off of 'Split'? They were running out of ideas at this point. 'Split' was their best work.
