Can't understand what happened to the good old days when the big movie of the week or Sunday night movies came on. Now they all sold over to cable. Now and then they show a Hallmark movie.
I don't understand why they keep their names to themselves until they pass on I mean they too deserve to be just as famous as Ernie Anderson and Don LaFonte.
I don't know, but it WAS in use by no later than April 8, 1990, since the Twin Peaks 2-hr movie premiere which aired that night freatured these graphics.
Does anybody know the name of the guy announcing these bumpers? He used to do all ABC's on-air promos for years when I was a kid, but I never found out who he was or what happened to him. This man WAS the "Voice of ABC."
Thanks! I ended up being able to Google him on "ABC promo announcer" and confirmed that it is indeed the late Ernie Anderson. Sadly, he died 11 years ago...but his voice lives on.
All three of the major networks around this time had superb musical openings to their "Movie of the week." When people actually cared about what they put on the air. All are classics!
no i don't unfortunately, but i could try to make that the way i remember it though, thanks for asking that good question. i was only 4 when that "rare" logo started (1993 if i'm not mistaking), but i won't be able to find the theme immediately.
This is cool! How about you upload the one from 1995? That's the only movie bumper I remember looking at; since I was so young, I didn't bother focusing my attention on these, like I do today now that I'm older.
Oh, October 1998, I thought it was february because it wasn't till fall of 1998 when ABC went yellow. Speaking of Yellow, can you upload some ABC promos and bumpers from their yellow era (1998-2002)? I gotta see 'em! Esp. something from 1998, like their 'We Love TV' ID.
Fall '97? I thought it was 1998...oh, wait...I think you're right, b/c at first, I saw on the TV Network extravaganza website and TV Ark and they both stated that ABC's color scheme went yellow in fall of 1998. But it may have been in 1997. However, you listed the slogans in the wrong order. TV is Good came first.
My bad, TV is Good was '97-98, We Love TV was the year after. By this time frame, the whole loose structure of the yellow identity tends to overshadow the slogans, lol.
This brings me back to sitting in our living room in front of the tv after running back from getting a drink ....

I remember watching the Sunday night movies, after America's Funniest Home Videos. It was definitely a big part of my family's Sunday get-togethers.

It premiered in early 1990, IIRC February of '90.

ABC 1982 is better.
bigbill1991 4 years ago
i think the apparently 1995 abc movie logo is better
Boatfan89 4 years ago
Prefer way back then. Those intros made it seem like you would see something awesome.
bigbill1991 4 years ago
i don't mind the 1982 star tunnel though, the 1982 theme should've been on the 1995-97 abc movie logo as well as it's regular theme
Boatfan89 4 years ago
I will have to lookup 95 bumper. Do not remember it at the moment.
bigbill1991 4 years ago

Boatfan89 4 years ago
Do you have it?

I don't have much from then... there's a Wednesday night promo bump from 2000 that I already uploaded.

No, ABC went yellow in fall 1997. We Love TV was their slogan in 1997-98, which changed to TV is Good for 1998-99.
