if he took some of that metal roofing he could build a deflector under the cages and have all the urine and waste drop down into box on the ground outside pretty much where the runoff from the roof would go and then just catch a ton of worms and put in the box and compost the manure then use it in his greenhouse for all the veggies he was growing..
ummmmmmm please put hay or woodshavings as their floor or its a huge vet bill headin your way !!!! their can get really bad bleeding feet also its very uncomfortable for them. What breed of rabbit are you looking for?
@pinetar100 here in europe the weather is gr8 mid 50's cant believe that ur weather is so bad...all summer we have had brill weather very warm but not a lot of rain..had to use the tap water as not enough in the bins..last year we had 8 inches of snow before xmas and then after xmas nothin..been a good yr for apples/fruit everybody has got apples! got my own rabbits fauve de bourgogne big rabbits lots of meat dont think u can get them where ya'all are?
Hope you don't have snakes around because if you raise young rabbits in those cages snakes will get them for sure. It happened to me. You MUST use mesh wire to keep snakes from getting to the babies and sometimes even the older rabbits.
Ha ha! Are those turkeys I hear in a panic when you slam the covers? I want to set up something similar in my barn, and allow my chickens to walk underneath. I've read that the chickens help break the urine down faster when they scratch around the rabbit droppings. While the manure can be placed directly onto the garden, it doesn't always end up in a separate place from the urine.
TheNewSurvivalist has a good setup for the droppings. He channels them into a bin for compost. Rabbit waste is excellent compost that doesn't even need to be processed, it can go directly into your garden.
Did you ever get to finish this?

I'm way behind on my videos so you're making fast progress as I watch and get caught up. Looks like a very sturdy hutch and well thought out.
