My heart totally melted for this man. He was a shrewd businessman, a very smart and intelligent man and a MAN'S MAN. But underneath it all he was a romantic, he wanted to love and be loved. All he wanted was for Scarlett to love him as he loved her. That was it. Melanie understood him. I always felt that he and Melanie should have been together. I loved that he tried and tried and TRIED and then finally he had enough and moved on. Scarlett was too flighty and immature for a man like Rhett.

Well done! Now that I'm older Vivian Lee looks soo young! How old was she when she did this film? I can't imagine any other actress that would've played Scarlett as well, and the whole history on how long it took to find the right one is interesting too. They auditioned dozens of actresses and finally found her near the end of the search, isn't that right? And who could've played a better Rhett? Great and tragic love story. :)

As one of the most obsessive GWTW fans of all time, ( 212 1/2 times) I actually like this. I like the song and it places only (for the most part) Gable and Leigh together. "Frankly, My Dear, I don't give a damn." One of the most memorable quotes ever. LOVE the movie! It's like food for me, i always have a craving to watch it... the romance between Rhett and Scarlett is so...perfect, at times, but ends so tragically... although in the ending, where Scarlett says she'll catch him again, i just felt like it was so incomplete! it should have ended after Rhett said those final words, in my opinion.

NO! i loved that the film stayed true to the book and margaret mitchell's intentions for the characters! if it had ended with rhett just leaving and scarlett lying down and taking it after realising this was the man she truly loved that would not have been in the nature of the fearless and determined miss o hara! she has to go back to tara and more importantly get her man back! rhett is too damned good to lose! tomorrow is always another day! :)
