The standard iPod USB Cable DOES work with the iPod Touch on the 2012 Hyundai Sonata!!! FYI!!!! Just tried this morning and it had full functionality with standard USB cable that came with my iPod Touch!
I just got this car yesterday, and wondering does anyone know how to switch the ipod mode from the car to the ipod, so you can control the music from it? I cant, and I wanna switch it instead of using the car controls. I have a 5th generation ipod nano, not touch.
we have the 2011 Sonata Sport Its Awesome.. but our Ipod isn't playing in it. I ordered the hyundai cord from Amazon. so it is connected properly..but it didn't start to play.
just got my sonata today..plugged in my ipod with the Hyundai cable from the dealer and the car loads my songs and shows that they are playing but no sound comes out of the speakers. Am i doing something wrong or should i take my car back to the dealer?

All I can say is that supplies are short from the plant in Alabama as of (June 21, 2010) Our next shipment should arrive in 3 weeks so if you are looking for Sonatas and can not find the color you want right now you should keep in mind that more are coming in about three weeks.
Hey Man. I want this car bad but my only issue is POWER. I always been used to sport car I have Ford Mustang right now but I need a ford door car. I want to get this now but the power made me wit for the Turbo that is coming. Let me know what you think.
can u tell me the exact cord you're using and where did u get it from. im searching and i see the retractable cords break easily. i want this car so badly, might get it this week hopefully! =D the interior is crazy sick!!!
My mom is getting a white SE with leather sunroof and navigation sometime this week... she was just gonna get the limited but she said the wheels are nicer on the SE
I just bought an SE model and have enjoyed seeing your 2011 Sonata videos. I would like to see a video on using an Mp3 player with the Sonata system. You did a great job on your other Sonata videos and I found them informative. Thanks

Yeah, I just stopped into my dealership the other day, saw it, and was like, woah!! That looks awesome! I thought it was a Genesis at first, but then when I found out that it was a Sonata, I jumped on it! Hahaha :)
sweet man you're lucky... im planning on getting this car, except the turbo version later on in the year, and its perfect b/c it comes out around my birthday so i get my license as well!!

what kind of cable does it use? is it a standard USB jack into the car?

No you have to order a special USB from hyundai I have found it for as cheap as 16.99 on ebay.
