  • That's about 125mph

  • Sweet

  • dat shit even did a high pitch when passing O.O

  • The further you get into this video, the slower the train goes. I was almost expecting some type of digital speedometer to say 60 mph as it passed...

  • The Acela is 666 feet in length. It passed the camera in three seconds. Times 60 seconds....times 60 minutes equals it's speed in feet per hour. Divided by 5280 feet per mile equals 151 miles per hour in this video.

  • Hey you think that was fast? Just wait till you see what Australia Is Rolling out shortly. The 190 billion HSR-Link has aready started tho the Train hasnt been built yet but shorty will. Youtube or google: A-HSV.

  • imagine being hit by it

  • Nice video! I like how you timed it so the camera stays attached to the back of the train as it passes.

  • well i was on that tra

    in

  • Stupid the train uses electricity

  • These acela trains need to come to an end they use too much fuel

  • @natheno1981 The trains run on electricity.

  • @natheno1981 they are electric

  • man.. ok ok thats fast... but japanesse trains are faster they hit 584km/h or i'm not sure but at least 360mph .... amazing

  • Yes, at least 125 mph/200 km/h

  • Why not buy one of thoose japanese trains thats twice as fast or something?

  • can't, US Rail maintenance isn't good enough

  • No, it's not a maintnance issue at all. It has to do with the number of curves and moveable bridges. Japan and Europe built corridors for high speed trains and made them as straight as possible. The US is using exisiting tracks that do not offer the same advantages. The speeds are going to increase as upgrades are made.

  • The Japanese trains go around 175 mph tops. That is only 15mph faster then an Acela. Hardly twice as fast.

  • Really? 581 kmh=361mph (The Japanese JR-Maglev)

  • That is the Maglev. A completeley different type of train system. No wheels, no rails. I am talking about the fastest conventional trains in Japan.

  • @55EPIC The N700 reached 270 mph.

  • That's the fastest Acela I've ever seen. Great catch in the night!!

  • I'm surprised they're not required to slow down passing through the station.

    Nice.

  • that train is nowhere near the station. The station(s) have an 'inside line' for these situations, perfectly safe.

  • I thought it looked like it went right past a platform on the other side? Unless I'm seeing things. Kinda hard to tell, thought there was a yellow line.

  • Wrong. There are only two tracks through Canton station and each has a platform. There is no inside track. Speed through Canton station for Acela trains is 130mph.

  • then i stand corrected :)

  • dammmmm what a train i want the lionel

  • hi that train was moving where was this photoe taken and like to see more great job thanks.

  • 125

  • That more than 100 mph for sure.

  • Cooooool!!!

  • 125 MPH

    other whys good video

  • 125 mph.

  • I like how I see the video header reading 100 MPH, the video itself saying 80, and the description saying 70... I was beginning to set myself for a disappointment (restricted speed anywone?) but it had the opposite effect, made the video that much more exciting. Nice shot!

  • I really don't know how fast it was going but i changed everything because of all the different mph ranges in my comments

  • I know really how could tht be 80 mph!!!!!

  • how the hell could that be 80 mph????!!!

    more like 110

  • DAMN! That was awesome to watch. Nice job!!!

  • Thanks!

  • thats crazy

  • Add 70 to your estimate in the title. That's the Acela for ya.

  • yeh ok i agree now that i see this video again maybe 110mph atleast

  • nice shot, this has to be at least 100, 80 is how fast the Amtrak goes by me

  • thanks

  • Great video! But, dude, that's definitely past 100, or atleast it REALLY looks like its over 100!

    Great video and K5LA toot!

    -Jim

  • thanks

  • yeah sure
