  • Although I'm a fan of Star Trek I'm not so much a fan of star wars. I'm pretty sure there weren't trills or beta-zoids in star fleet during the period of clothing they're wearing or the model ship they're on and for that period I don't think the federation was in the beta quadrant. All in all it was still pretty entertaining. Some very funny parts where there were tribbles and the commander is pretty sexy.

  • @jackappin Hi and thanks for watching. I'm a major Trek fan too, but in a crossover like this it's important to write what would be deemed a fair match or one set of fans or another would crucify me!

  • @jackappin There were definately Trills in Starfleet at that time, because Curzon Dax was at that time on his way to becoming one of the Federation's highest ambassadors. Part of Cmdr Loomis' backstory is that he was a Trill initiate at the symbiosis commission at the same time as Curzon. It doesn't explain of course Dr Crusher's apparent ignorance of Trills in the episode '|The Host', but there's conflicts all over Trek Canon.

  • @jackappin In the abscence of any evidence to the contrary, I'd submit it's fine to include Betazed as a Federation member at that time as well. Even if it weren't Starfleet Academy wouldn't turn down an application from a non-Federation candidate.

  • Klingon costumes...well done.

    Starfleet costumes....er....um.....nice try.

  • where's part 1 b?

  • @STARTREKFANIMATED You can just search for it, but best off just find the playlist on our page. there's a better quality version on Dailymotion. Thanks again.

  • This is a little gem of a find. So hard to find fan films that capture my attention as much as professional TV series. Loved this off to part 2

  • @STARTREKFANIMATED Thankyou so much! Tell everyone you know, we love coverage! Part order 1A 1B 2A 2B all due to upload limits when we released it.

  • @Straitjacket2007 I already have. Please check out my starmada series. its a bit different.

P.s. is the trill captain actor single hehehe

  • yea....acting could use a LOT of work. makeup was well done though.

  • @askcorblair We know, and thanks! Hope you enjoyed it!

  • if i was on that starship i would kill myself...

  • @Darius3431 And we could feed your remains to the tribbles!

  • Clever using her hair to hide where the ears connect.

  • @CaesiusX Thanks!

  • I guess some people never heard of going back into the studio to do voice overs to get rid of those dammed echos.

  • @GeekBoy03 Well I guess some people never heard of the concept of a fan film - this wasn't made in a studio, it was filmed in the dining room of a terraced house in Bristol on a budget of nothing, over two weekends, using borrowed equipment. A slight echo is the least of our worries. Do you have any idea how difficult successfully lipsyncing a different soundrack would have been? We made the best of what what we had.

  • is this your account, philip? kiwi rob here

  • @kiwirobt Yep Hi mate

  • i like the design of the uss hood, very cool

  • Ha have a look at the other comments a lot of people have taken the opposite view! Thanks for watching!

  • Oh wow, weapons in the Star Wars universe are basically "lasers", which wouldnt even penitrate the navagational shields on a Federation frigate. Good try though :P

  • Obviously, this particular federation star ship was running windows 98 as its main computer core OS and the crew suffering from dementia, otherwise the TIEs would have been all destroyed within 0.5 seconds

  • The Klingons are so believable! Nice job!

  • i was totally surprised to see the TIE fighters ! fun !!

  • @deaddropsd1972 Thankyou!

  • I love that it is the TMP era as well as ST vs SW.

However, what did not impress me much, was that the TIEs did way too much damage. I will give you all credit that I did indeed enjoy watching this part. You all did a good job as actors :)

  • @Coresk Thanks for your comments! Qua'plah!

  • @Coresk SW weapons are far more powerful than ST weapons

  • @BMWM3GTRLOVER lol, Lasers vs phasers? I mean come on, if you've ever watched Star Trek TNG, you'll know that the Enterprise crew almost laughed their asses off when a ship threatened to open fire at them, with lasers. But then again... Trolls.

  • @Coresk well, actually, SW weapons aren't lasers based on light, but based on plasma. thats why they're called turbolasers. a single TIE fighter cannon is rated at 32,000 gigawatts. remember, it took 900 megawatts to blow up a Danube and 400 gigawatts to completely drain the Enterprises shields.

  • @BMWM3GTRLOVER Love it!

  • My favorite uniforms. Happy to see a fan film with those.

  • @silvereagle2061 Me too, which is one reason we set it in this era. I think the ships from this era are the most graceful too, with this 'Connie' arguably being THE most recognizable of any of the Trek ships. Thanks for your comments, and thanks for watching!

  • I love the Trill XO, the use of the Hood, and the TIE fighters. I'm pretty sure so far, that this is the best fan fiction live action trek film I've ever see. Good job!

  • @lcmorgan1221 Thankyou so much we're really glad you enjoyed it. Comments like this make it all worthwhile. and I'm the Trill, so my ego is now inflated to galactic proportions! So from all the team, thanks again!

  • Klingon's seem like they are stoned.

  • @eyeofbast Ha Ha!

  • the unsinkable ship, the mighty hood. Shall we expect it to be sunk by a larger battle class ship?

  • @backfire357 Here's a little behind-the scenes attention-to-detail snippet just for you;

Onthebridge the dedication plaque bears the crest of the original British Battleship

    CONSTITUTION CLASS, STARFLEET REGISTRY NCC-1703

    DRYDOCK REFIT STARDATE 7476.4

    TRANQUILITY BASE LUNA

SOL SECTOR UNITED FEDERATION OF PLANETS

Named for the sailors of the Royal Navy and for all those who have given their lives in the name of peace

"The Empires of the Future are the Empires of the Mind" Winston Churchill

  • @Straitjacket2007 That makes me want to put my old bridge back together. I command a bird of prey scout. Perhaps I shall do some filming. I think i have that hood model in a modded version of bridge commander.

  • @backfire357 Sounds good! I modelled my Hood in Lightwave, so still have it all. I'm sure any of our cast would be up for a cameo? Which era are you?

  • @Straitjacket2007 TNG, I filmed 3 parodies one isn't up. i can have that raw footage sent or whatever. A lot of it is a fixed camera. If you like you can just watch some of my video's and decide if you want me to put some effort into another set. My current set up permits another bridge. Captain Dusty isn't all there. If you want, i'd rather my ship reflect a pirate bird of prey. I currently have 2 bridge officers and myself. But i wanted to do a bit of the british style ship combat.

  • @backfire357 Thanks for the comment :}

  • this cracks me up. a tribble and a cat on the bridge. then someone shows up in a leather jacket. then darth vader! what a riot!

  • @johydee1 Really glad you enjoyed it thanks so much!

  • @juice0105 you're not wrong! Never mind eh? Cheers for watching!

  • this is retarded put effort into star trek for non canon hopeful shit not when to multi verses colide

  • @kayley2k And for those English speakers amongst us? You make a film, and we'll comment on it. We might even use punctuation.

  • I do not buy that a Federation Starship would be so challenged at hitting the fighters.

  • @lunazerotwo Thanks for the comment! We've covered this before if you'd like to see the other comments. Thanks for watching!

  • Star Trek will live as long as quality and love of the material can be demonstrated as this film episode so clearly does! Great stuff! Keep up the great work!

  • @GeorgeKayaian Spot on thankyou dude! :-D

  • Any time. :)

  • Despite the rather outdated graphics even for a fan film is is pretty good. I am looking forward to watching more.

  • @CaptMajest

    Outdated? Well we were just starting out and the film is nearly 3 years old now so fair enough! Did you watch the rest of it? :}

  • @Straitjacket2007

I did, it was absolutely brilliant. I didn't mean it to come out nasty, it wasn't meant to be like that. I was trying to emphasis that even though it's not top quality in the graphics, the acting and storyline really gets you hooked which is far more important to me.

If I could put a vote on it, it would certainly be a 10/10. Brilliant work. :)

  • @CaptMajest Aw shucks thanks that means a lot!

  • Second thought: "... Tribbles? o.O"

Also, I find it amusing the adventures that Darth Vader apparently had after the destruction of the Death Star. XD

  • @AlleluiaElizabeth Hiya not sure if you're being sarcastic but none of us are actors this is just to show what is possible with no money but a bit of time and love. ATOTG is set during the Jedi Purge, so before the construction of the first Death Star. Hope you've seen the whole film, thanks for watching.

  • @Straitjacket2007 No, I was serious. I liked the acting by the Klingons in the first scene. And yeah the Death Star thing is what I said before I reached the part where the Star Wars timeline was explained. I just assumed it was after the Death Star's destruction b/c Darth Vader was in that ship of his. lol Figured maybe he'd been blown thru a wormhole or something in the aftermath of it all. (You know, once he stopped spinning end over end.)

  • @AlleluiaElizabeth lol! yeah that is true it is his personal TIE - I guess it's pretty trusty! And we all think the Klingons are amazing! :}

  • First thought when I saw the opening scene... "OMG, *good* acting?! O.O YES!"

  • Guess there's been an outbreak!

  • um hello, tie fighters use lasers. they wouldn't be able to put a dent in the shields of a Constitution Class. Inaccurate phasers? I don't think so. They'd have as good of a chance as hitting a tie fighter as they would a peregrine fighter.

  • @Dan300Z Unless you're in or around a Mutara-class nebula...

  • For a O budget film ,this is absolutely amazing .Excellent work

  • Thankyou so much for your kind words. Qua'plah!

  • not bad, I like how the TIE Fighters are a credible threat, they should consider themselves lucky it wasn't a Star Destroyer attacking them.

also nice job showing how hard it would be to hit a TIE fighter with all the jamming, though they did get a lucky shot in.

my only nitpick is the use of TNG phasers during TMP era, constitution class ships were decommissioned long before the TNG style phaser was invented, it should be firing the Wrath of Khan style complete with sound.

  • Hey cheers this is really nice. I do appreciate the nitpick, because it is valid! W.o.K. was a few years before this, perhaps as one of the last Connies in the fleet Hood's been retrofitted as a testbed for prototype technologies? In fact more to do with the fact that we wanted Trek phasers to look different to the Star Wars 'pulse' type rays. The Klingon distruptors were more globular {and more difficult to animate!} Appreciate the comment and really glad you enjoyed it. PD

  • would it be that hard to get uniforms that actually fit,,, honestly, the whole thing was mega cool but really, a tailor wouldn't cost THAT much. damn anyone that can stitch and is a fan of the show would help out pulling thoes hems in a bit for a better fit.

  • Well we only had two uniforms, and they were supposedly tailored by the guy that made them, but this is a no-budget film believe it or not and if that's the worst thing you can say about it {albeit slightly pedantic} then I'll take it as a compliment. Glad you enjoyed it, but don't stress out about the costumes - it doesn't matter!

  • lol, yes it does. See this is the thing i don't get about fans. I've never been to a convention or dressed as a star fleet officer, but if i were to do it you can bet the uniform would be of the same material, and fit me like it fits the actors. If you're gonna do it, do it right. thats what i say. But fair enough two uniforms is a bit of a bitch. And yes it is the only thing i can say thats bad.

  • They're a lot more convincing than some of the others I've seen and all the insignia are genuine. That said, if and when we do another one, I will get them looked at! :}

  • Incidentally I've never been to a con or worn my uniform in anger either, I got it just for the film. But if I did there'd be a lot worse out there!

  • in anger? LOL why would you do that?

  • Just an expression!

  • You do have to realize that the material probably costs some money. Plus you have designers and other paid people making these costumes.

  • Sure - in Hollywood! Not in my dining room in Bristol though. Only three of us plus actors made this entire film. Thanks for watching!

  • @kendrawhisp You have to take into account that costuming costs some dough.

  • LOL. Darth Vader.

  • That's pretty amazing. =) I like it

  • A Connie would destroy a few TIEs sooooo fast.

  • Even with Vader flying one?

  • When is the next series or part 3 coming out.

  • Lack of budget and set space means there are no plans for another Hood show any time soon, but we would love to do another one, so never say never!

  • Starfleet uniforms are so unreal...

  • Ours or generally?

  • Ha Ha no it's a Tribble! Cheers for watching!

  • what was the fury little thing he picked up in the turbo lift? was that a huge dust mouse?

  • Man your costumes and graphics are great! This is really cool.

  • Thanks so much! It was a labour of love!

  • I highly doubt that a TIE could even as much as put a dent in a Excelsior class vessel.

Nevertheless very entertaining and well made!

  • Thanks so much! It is Darth Vader though. You can't underestimate the power of the Dark Side! And Hood's a Connie, not a 'Sor.

    Regards

  • Good video, but if you didn't already know this. There was already a USS Hood Excelsior class around this time.

  • Na the Excelsior class Hood is still in service in Picard's era, which even with upgrades is a long shelf-life for a Fed ship. The Excelsior herself, first ship of her class, had only been in service a few years at this point, and had originally been developed as a platform for the failed transwarp project.

  • Its safe to assume our Connie refit Hood is superceeded by the Excelsior-class version, but we doubt she'd be commissioned until our ship was destroyed or decommissioned herself, and who's to say when that is/(was??)

Cheers for the comment we're glad you enjoyed it!

    The Straitjacket team

  • This is retarded. The phasers on a FedShip are incapable of missing. They use computer guidance which is much faster than a stupid Imperial Pilot can operate those flying tin cans called TIE craft.

  • Unless of course you happen to be inside of or on the outskirts of a Mutara-class nebula! There are countless examples of phasers missing, anyway! Cheers for the comment anyway!

  • AMAZING!!!! TELL YOURS FRIENDS

  • Cheers bro!

  • This is the BEST star trek vs star wars movie i've ever seen!!!!!!

  • Thanks Forlo, Spread the word, tell your mates about it. We like the idea of being the best. Dreams... :)

  • killed on the turbo lift ha ha ha, that sux man :D

  • The captain we meant to be played by William Shatner, but he didn't turn up on the day, cus we only offered him a bit part.

  • so you guys killed him :D

  • Must admit your effects and general look of this is really good looking :)

  • Hi Ododidit, We're glad you enjoyed our film. We put a shed load of effort in and got a quality piece of video back out.

  • Must admit your effects and general look of this is really good looking :)

  • Good Production values but the acting was a little bad at times. Also Betazoids and Trills were not know as of this era. Ah well gd work.

  • Thanks mate, well none of us are actors...

Kurzon Dax negociated the Khitomer Accords, and was one of the Federations highest ranking ambassadors during this time-period. ie his long friendship with Kang.(DS9, Blood Oath, amongst others) So Trills were definately Federation members, they'd just never been seen before. I could probably find something to support the Betazed arguement as well....cheers for your input tho!

  • very good film a1 cgi great to have the best to sci fi films in one fan film a1 from star trek the first missions.

  • Thank you so much guys! we'll be sure to check out your productions!

    All the best!

    The Straitjacket team

  • While the sets were a little off the mark, the acting was very good-I was impressed Warp 9.6/10

  • Thanks, the time, budget and most importantly space we had severely affected the set, I'd have loved a big 'New Voyages' style set! maybe next time.... ha ha In fact every live-action sequence in ATOTG was filmed in the same tiny room! Its very kind of you to mention the acting, as none of us have done any acting before!

    Kind Regards

    All at Straitjacket

  • Fantastic. I'm made up for you guys you must be chuffed with this! The story (so far) & CGI is belta.

Is that my tribble Lt Salaya is stroking? Sweet!

Can't wait for part two, will there be a separation of the saucer section?

    G

  • Thanks mate, we are very chuffed with it, and that is your tribble, sorry for no credit please dont sue us hehe. No separation i'm afraid, maybe next time if someone wants to pay us for it ;)

  • Very nice! tho 4 TIEs , even with Vader, doing that kind of damage is a lil bit off.

  • Thankyou for your comment, I think the crew were caught with their pants down a bit, they weren't expecting an attack, and maybe the starfleet shields aren't that effective against the previously unknown weapons signatures from another galaxy, at least initially. It got you talking though! There's a forum on our site, do feel free to join in and comment. (although it's not working properly just yet!) Thanks again.

  • Alot of effort here and a ton of all around potential, but seriously, this battle is like watching a pair crop dusters try to straffe a modern Aircraft Carrier. Weapons don't become magical when you step from one environment to another.
