  • scorsese movies: 1. raging bull 2. taxi driver 3. casino (better than goodfellas)

godfather is another league, especially part 2 (best movie all time)

    just an opinion

  • @lordtyrn Godfather is JUST a movie though. Look at stuff like 2001 or Donnie Darko, those are movies and philosophy intertwined whereas Godfather is just a bunch of really good acting and screenplay (not to downplay *how* good the screenplay/acting is)

  • @Sph34r kubrick is my favorite director of all time and i like 2001 (but its not even in my top 3: clockwork, eyes wide shut, barry lyndon) and about donnie darko..i liked it for the first time. last year i rewatched it with my gf and i found it not as mind blowing as the first time. its not that great. on the other hand godfather part 2 is still perfect every time. its not just a story. its about family, about power, about changing of personality. i think these are pretty important issues.

  • @lordtyrn It's also about America and Immigration. It's the most important film about this two issues.

  • 2001: A Space Odyssey belongs in the top three. It's film's answer to Finnegan's Wake. It still looks infinite.

  • omg ive met some people that i can finally say have good taste in movies. once apon a time in america, i reconise the name, is that a gang film? Raging bull and goodfellas are great movies too. Joe pesci is the man

  • @archiethorburn yes, Once upon a time in america is a gang film about jewish mafia, also played with Robert De Niro :)

  • This theme alse remembers me Once Upon a Time in America

  • I think Raging Bull IS the best movie of all time while Goodfellas is good but a bit overrated and the Godfather's still up there.

  • sopranos braught me here

  • 1:31 haha

  • Scorsese = Best Director of all time

Tarantino = Best Writer of all time

  • @Alty732 who u wreckon best actor?

  • @TheShakiebreaks IDK that is a hard choice, my favorite performance by an actor is Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood. But to pick my favorite actor would be hard, some actors are good at some things, but then are not good at others.

  • @TheShakiebreaks I don't know that would be hard, my favorite performance might be Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood, but DeNiro has so many good performances under his belt it is hard to say Lewis is the best, or even better then DeNiro.

Who do you think is the best?

  • ARE THESE VHS FREEZE-FRAMES?

  • this music at the beginning of the film was amazing

  • Raging Bull,Midnight Express,Saving Private Ryan,Superman 2,Rocky 1&2,Godfather,1&2,Scarface are the best American movies made.Am i forgetting something?

  • @lazerbeak2125 You place Raging Bull and The Godfathers in the same category as Superman and Rocky? Those comparisons are completely misguided. Raging Bull and Godfather 1 and 2 were cinematic masterpieces. Superman and Rocky mustn't be compared to those 2 films

  • @jackwardjw ...All classics either way.....no way to get around that.

  • @lazerbeak2125 goodfellas the deer hunter annie hall one flew over the cuckoo's nest

    silence of the lambs

pulp fiction american beauty fight club schindler's list ETC ETC ETC ETC

  • @lazerbeak2125 yes quite alot your mind for one thing

  • Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Mean Streets, Goodfellas, Casino.

    damn!!!! scorsese is great!!!!

  • @Theargoytimecompany

Don't forget Cape Fear & The King of Comedy, and also After Hours...!

  • @Theargoytimecompany musn't forget The Departed :)

  • Raging Bull and The Shawshank Redemption, top 2 films in my opinion.

  • The Godfather, then Raging Bull. In my opinion, Citizen Kane was a little slow, but Raging Bull never gets boring.

  • @facefilms87 - yes it was, great scene too.

  • Raging Bull, Once Upon A Time in America, Once Upon A Time in the West, The Right Stuff... They don't make movie like these anymore.

  • @1poiuztrewq2 not yet they don't

  • @1poiuztrewq2 What is "The Right Stuff"?

  • @connymat

A Philip Kaufman movie about the beginning of the U.S. manned space program, NASA's 'Project Mercury' and the USAF's 'Man In Space Soonest' project.

  • Achei muito interessante o vídeo e gostei da capa invisível que mostra a confiança da filha no pai e a violência os trauma que deixa nas pessoas principalmente na infância

  • what ever happend to cathy moriarty? She was such a beautiful actress.

  • Greatest theme song ever!!!!! love it!!!

  • raging bull, casino, and goodfellas are the top three for me.

  • I'm gonna ask you again, did you or didn't you? Just answer the question!

  • I'm not answering. I'm not answering that. It's stupid.

  • Comment removed

  • You're very smart, Joey. You give me all these answers, but you don't give the right answer. Just tell me.

  • I'm not gonna answer that. It's stupid. It's a sick question and you're a sick fuck and I'm not that sick that I'm gonna answer it. I'm leaving, If Nora calls tell her I went home. You know what you should do? Do a little more fucking and a little less eating, so you don't have to blame it all on me and everybody else, you understand me? You're cracking up! Ya' fucking screw ball ya'!

  • de nero actually said did you fuck my mother to an unsusspecting pesci to get a geniunine suprised face out of him

  • that's a sick question, your a sick fuck and im not sick enough that im gonna answer that. I'm gonna leave.

  • that music tells the story

  • This piece of music is so powerful that it could make any movie scene sad. It just has that affect on people.

But I saw Raging Bull for the first time tonight, it's a great movie.

  • 1:33-2:15 brings a tear to my eye.

  • one of the best films ever made...

  • Raging Bull, best film of all time in my opinion with an awesome soundtrack. On a second note the little bitches below me trying to wind people up can just stfu, immature twats

  • LOVE this song, it was jsut recently used in the directors cut of watchmen during the death of hollis mason

  • That was fucked up. Just like in the comic. It brought a tear to my eye watching that while listening to this.

  • And the death of Michael Corleone

  • A tough film to watch but in the hands of a master Like Scorsese its fantastic

  • 3rd greatest american film after citizen kane and the godfather in my opinion.

  • no just no

  • @captainkill1 To be honest,if you look at the 3 films, the direction and acting in Raging Bull exceeds Citizen Kane and Godfather. If Raging Bull came before those 2 movies, people would praise it as the best film of all time.

  • @captainkill1 In my opinion Raging Bull and Goodfellas are better than godfather.

  • @jeeengeli yes!!!

  • @jeeengeli Not even close.

  • @jeeengeli Raging Bull isn't close to the godfather, i'm sorry to say.

  • @jeeengeli

Better than Kane definitely, but little can touch the Godfather in terms of complete and utter perfection.

  • @jeeengeli I agree !!!

  • @captainkill1 The Godfather is outdated...

  • @JimmyTheWiseGuy That's because it captured the 40s very well, duh.

  • @JimmyTheWiseGuy the godfather will never die

  • @Cdog291 I only like 1 and 2

  • The theme was used in the last scene of Godfather lll

  • oh yeah, it did. Wow

  • great scene

  • Mascagni = brilliant!

  • Cavelleria Rusticana - Mascagni. That is where you might have heard it before it was used in the film.

  • I could swear this was also played in the Godfather III

  • It was, it was played in the last scene. When Michael dies.

  • this could make any hard man cry and punch the walls cursing the gods de niro raging bull style! :)

  • How would you know? You're just a little bitch.

  • legendary

  • I've never seen this movie but I played the music in Orchestra class. It's a beautiful song

  • to hell with the oscars its all bullshit. scorsese makes great films not for the prospect of some statue but to entertain and provoke a reaction from his audience. better than spielberg anyday.

  • Comment removed

  • legends never die or wilter.

  • Love this..... gotta appreciate the classics

  • this song seems to find its way onto some very good films, also for you guys who love a good movie with quality music. check out a french film called Le Bossu about a man who must avenge his masters assasination in musketeer fighting period paris. very good film.

  • An absolutly breath taking piece of music for a beautiful movie. 5/5

  • what is the name of this musical piece or the composer?

  • Cavalleria Rusticana Intermezzo by Mascagni

  • godfather still has to be the best soundtrack ever.

  • wasnt this in the godfather 3 when Michael is crying becuase his daugters just been shot outside the opera house?

  • lol it is the same song. You're very wrong. Haha

  • are they really? Hmm I listened to them both again, thought they sounded diff.

  • its just a different orchestra playing it

  • No your right this is the music that gets played when Michael's daughter gets killed.

  • thankyou for confirming!

  • yes it is i just bought the godfather trilogy and i watched them all again and this was on the third one

  • @facefilms87 Yeah it is but I'm guessing Francis Ford Coppola borrowed this song from Martin Scorsese

  • @facefilms87 yes you are right

  • @facefilms87

    thats right

  • this sounds like attesa... is it?

  • This is nr. 5 in my favourite movie list. :D

  • Cavalleria Rusticana Intermezzo is the song. I am going to see the opera in two months. Can't wait.

  • Beautiful

  • does ne1 know wat the songs name is?

  • this song is awesome i agree..and i also agree it is a tear jerker. if you like movie scores i recommend the movie last of the mochicans, konan, master and commander, glory, dances with wolves, braveheart

  • u are a little clever , that's yours tastes.

    I have the sames...

  • this song is also in a another great film called Le Bosseu about a revenge story

  • i >3 dis song

    dis song iz awsome..

    it makes me cry!!!!

  • musica classica x un film da leggenda

  • I think Casino was Scorsese's best, even though Goodfellas gets all the hype.

  • Do you know when his new film comes out?

  • Which one?

Martin Scorsese's next film will come out in late 2009, staring Leonardo DiCaprio.

And Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro will team up again for the first time in more than 10 years, for a new movie about the guy that allegedly killed Jimmy Hoffa, that will possibly come out in 2010.

  • I love how it was used in The Godfather Part III at the end.

  • love Raging Bull and this song

  • y do i love this song?

its great its means somthing but i dont know wat though i want this in my walk through music before i go into my upcoming fight

  • the intermezzo

  • Great Music. Cavalleri Rusticano ! love it.

  • I meant Cavalleria Rusticana...oops.

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • beautiful music, mascagni

  • I can't believe didn't win oscars for best picture+director!!!

  • it lost to Robert Redford (Best Director) with Ordinary People (Best Picture of 1980).

i believe this should have won. this was a very powerful movie

  • Yeah.ORDINARY PEOPLE was great but RAGING BULL was definitely better. If not RAGING BULL,ELEPHANT MAN should have won. They're on the same level.

  • in fact, there are several instances where i believe a different film should have won. for example, Saving Private Ryan LOST to Shakespeare In Love in 1998

  • Very true.Anyway, people should not take the oscars seriously.I mean DANCING WITH THE WOLFS won over GOODFELLAS?!?WTF?!?

DRIVING MISS DAISY over BORN ON THE 4TH OF JULY?

    CHARIOTS OF FIRE over REDS?

    etc...

  • yes, AND Chariots of Fire over Raiders of the Lost Ark. the Golden Globes are better, they have Best Motion Picture: Drama, Comedy, Musical, etc.

  • yeah golden globes and SAGs are better :-)

  • though we musn't forget, there are some films that pretty much HAD to win the oscar for best picture. examples, Schindler's List, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, Amadeus, etc.

  • Yes but they rarely got it right.

  • Or perhaps CHARIOTS OF FIRE over RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. Raiders should've one.

  • Actually,i think REDS was the best the film of 1981.

  • Well that's your opinion but i strongly disagree.

  • mmm, I am in favour of Shakespeare in love, altough the other one is pretty good too.

  • two other movies that were also nominated that year i thought were better than shakespeare and ryan: the thin red line and life is beautiful

  • aw come on

    this movie deseverse best picture

  • My son has his style of fighting so they call him the raging bull.

  • when i die, i want this song to be played at my funeral. My favorite movie and probably the most beautiful piece of music ever written.

  • I agree 100% with you. My all-time favorite movie and it has been many years since I saw it. The music soothes my soul.

  • This is truly a Scorsese and De Niro masterpiece

  • DeNiro's best movie.

  • my grandfather was a prize fighter in the 50's 60's era and this song makes me think about him.. what he must of been like... the wars he had in the ring.. i wish i could go back in time and see what he was like in his prime.. im boxing now so it meens that much extra to me

  • did you know that DeNiro had to gain 40 pounds for this movie, to play the older part of LaMotta, but it was really a great film

  • Deniro was already a great actor, but I think this role put him over the top....just incredible.

  • wots it called so i can download it

  • this is by Pietro Mascagni. you want to look for the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana.

  • I like the song :D

  • powerful movie

  • Incredible music, when I watched this film I was in a sensitive moment and the music made me cry. Powerful in every sense

  • God you are weird...how can you CRY at that music. The only time this music has been made the effect to cry is The Godfather Part III...the use of this intermezzo in that movie was mich more powerful.

  • yeah well, didn´t I say I was sensitive? anyway, if you cried with the same music then it is a good music, no matter the film it was in.

  • yeah very beautiful, exciting..

  • Beautiful, powerful, sad, fiercely ambitious. Thankyou for uploading this.

  • Stunning, makes my hairs on my back stand on end!

  • classic

  • Beautiful
