@Fetalimperialism he did, in a way... he talks about being able to go up to a screen, enter a subject of your interest, and have information accessed on it instantly from university libraries, in 1965... he also talks about how when information is spread quickly enough, the unorganized masses become organized... look at egypt ect
Visionary point of view? 0:06 "LSD the lazy mans form of Finnegans Wake". See vid "Terence McKenna Surfing Finnegans Wake"...reading parts of it beautiful aloud and giving interesting comments. McLuhan influence was vital for this important promotor of psychedelica...
Brilliant, wow so far ahead of us all in understanding the implications of an electric life. His quote here is very prescient: "You can't have a point of view in the electric age. You can't have a static fixed position. It's impossible to have any point of view, and have it mean anything at all. You have to be in everything at once, whether you like it or not. You have to be participating in everything going on at the same time. 4:18" #transmedia #maxstrategy #direct2fan
watching McLuhan swivel around with the computer lights in the background screams INTERNET prophetically to me. My brother read that McLuhan had an extra source of blood supplying his brain something like an extra artery when his autopsy was done. Maybe this explains how he could think so far ahead of the norm.
Sometimes he got carried away with his own ideas.... He liked to "put-on" his audience. I learned a lot from him, but he forgets about the fact that there is evil in the world regardless of what medium is most popular.
"An idiot means a very private person. That's a Greek word meaning a very private person. I'm losing my idiot status steadily. I'm becoming less and less private, I'd much rather be an idiot."
hey man I can explain what he was saying as well or better and have been developing a language to explain what I call Egonomics, you want a copy, because it might be interesting to you

@fastfoodclowns.... Evil is not a cool medium when shown on TV, ..it is a hot
topic.....What Marshal said in the 70's still goes today.
Marshal Mcluhan was every bit aware of evil.

@thunderusa He also said that he couldn't be moralistic about media.
