I love this guy, all of these clips of him talking are so interesting. I got into home recording a few years ago, and these kind of videos are so fascinating to me.
I just finished recording the backing tracks for my latest song. They sound good on my studio speakers and on my living room speakers...though a little different. But when I run the song through my bedroom speakers the song sounds bass heavy and slightly distorted.
Now I know a good mix should make the song sound good through any set of speakers you're using.
How can I achieve this goal? What should I do? Can you advise me?
Eric is a cool cat!!! I had the pleasure of hangin out with him back in the mid 80's and he taught me much of what I know about recording, songwriting, and life in general.
very useful info. I like the idea of getting advice from someone who made music back in the day. Stuff sounded better back in the 60's 70's and even 80's. I guess its hard for people to dicern what sounds good nowadays when they listen to mp3's through cheap throw away ear buds. ET is cool with me.
