So Andy is with in his rights to legally marry the young couple and Aunt Bea and Opie think he should have. A great Way to Get Andy Killed and make Opie a Orphan. Smart Thinking Aunt Bea real smart thinking Opie all ready lost a mother you want him to lose a Father all so? LOL. I love this show but they don't think sometimes.

They just don't make T.V. shows like this one. It's strange how this sitcom changed over the years. Sheldon Lenoard wanted Andy to be a country bumpkin, the he evolved into the level-headed sheriff in the season 3 and 4. Because Griffith started out a storyteller with his classic 'WHAT IT WAS, WAS FOOTBALL" that's the way this sitcom started out but had to evolve to broaden the audience.
