incase you dont know the main difference between ge and fe is that the fe has the exhaust cam running via helical cut gear from the inlet cam so they are still dohc but it dosent look like it. if you dont believe me take the cam cover off a 4afte (starlet motor) or a 1ggfe and ul c for yourself. inlet cam is run via a belt.

Yes i know there are a few F engines with the cams geared together, but that is not what makes a F or FE variant of an engine,its just alot FE of engine are like this as the valves are closer together.F in toyota's naming code jst means Economy narrow-angle valve DOHC, and G means Performance wide-angle valve DOHC, and E just means electronicly fuel injected. so 'G' variants pretty much mean performance engine, so in saying they should make more 'GE' engines meaning more performance engines
