I remember hearing that this version existed back around the middle of 2000. It wasn't out in the US so I had to order a VHS bootleg of the Japanese laserdisc from some fly-by-night online company that seemed to be run out of some guy's basement. For some reason it had a black bar along the bottom to obscure the Japanese subtitles, so you ended up missing like a quarter of the picture. Good times.
