He actually fought AGAINST a bill to increase the GI Bill for returning veterans. Obama and Clinton supported the measure and it passed even with McCain working against it. McCain's reason for not wanting better vet benefits? He felt it would take down re-enlistment. So he wasn't in it to take care of veterans at all.
